They didn't want to believe in the reality.
Alpha too wanted to be a part in this act of causing misery to the family and spoke to the werewolf whose claws were stained with the blood of Benjamin, "Let go of the poor guy's hand, Ash" – It addressed the other werewolf as Ash – "He is dead now and therefore, he can do nothing to help but spoil the floor through the blood dripping out of his body.
Throw the body out in the woods" Alpha reminded both the ladies to come back to reality and accept it. They must know that their husband or father is no more now.
They must, especially for Martha, take it as a lesson of what the werewolves are capable of doing; that they must fear the werewolves and make sure not to argue with them. Both Cindy and Martha had gotten numb.
It was a tsunami for both of them where the tides were going against them and sinking them deep down under the sea.
It was as if they have been choked. Neither of the ladies were able to breathe properly for their life was somehow had gone away along with the life of Benjamin. Martha wanted to cry but she could not. Cindy however was no more grieving on the death of her husband. She was rather enraged; just like her husband was.
There was one thing which her husband adhered to till his last breath and that was too not let the werewolves take undue advantage of their inferiority. She immediately got up which intrigued all three of the werewolf in the scene.
She glued her eyes on her late husband for a while which led to a tear escape from her eyes.
She reminded herself to not mourn of what has already been lost. In fact, she should now look at what is ahead of her; to remain bold and take a stand against those flesh eaters. She reinforced a spirit of chutzpah in herself to go against the demons, then whatever repercussion it may produce.
She turned behind to get Benjamin's dead body out of her sight and headed to the place where Martha stood. Martha was in trauma over her father's death; or killing.
She didn't realize when her mother approached her and took her by her arm.
Only when she felt someone tightly form a grip around her arm that she realized that her mother now stood beside her. Cindy was about to take her along to Alpha and no sooner had Cindy taken the first ever step towards Alpha that Martha began to sob in pain over her father's death. "Mumma!" she cried as her copious tears wounded her cheeks with signs of a great loss, mourning and heartfelt pain.
This melted the boldness of Cindy and even she began to share Martha's deep pain by crying.
But soon she regained her calm and firstly wiped off the tears of her daughter and then her own. "What is lost is now lost.
There's no possible way of bringing him back honey. We must look after ourselves now. This is what Benjamin had wanted us to, right?" Cindy tried to console her daughter.
However, Martha was not yet ready to seek any consolation. She wanted to let her pain out instead. But Cindy had other plans.
She took Martha by her arms and approached the Alpha. Martha didn't choose to form a will in going along with her mother since she wasn't capable of forming one.
She just went wherever her mother led her to. Both of them halted in front of the leader of the wolf pack, the Alpha.
Cindy looked straight into its eyes, trying her best to not depict any signs of fear or pain in her eyes.
"We are leaving now. You have inflicted more harm to us than we deserve. So if you have the least sense of morality in yourself, do not step over in between our path" Cindy said in a stern manner.
Internally she was afraid since the werewolves could do anything to her and her daughter. She chose to move ahead towards the exit of the house and did so.
Only she had taken a couple of steps that the voice of Alpha rang into her ears. "I had felt so relieved when your husband died that there would not be any more argue over this matter.
But somehow, I think the entire family finds immense pleasure in debating over pity issues." It had already turned and now faced the back of Martha next to which was the woman who held Martha's hand, Cindy. Neither Cindy nor Martha had turned around to face Alpha and just stood there a few steps away from the door.
Alpha, with his muscular and long arms, bent over a little and reached out his hand for grabbing the neck of Martha. Having already suffered some superficial injuries on the neck, Martha groaned in pain over the sudden grabbing of her neck, this time by Alpha's relatively bigger arms. Once forming a good grip around her neck with its hand, Alpha did not take much time in pulling Martha towards itself and thereby bringing her right by its side.
All of it happened so swiftly that Cindy didn't even realize when she lost hold of Martha's arm.
She turned behind as soon as she heard her daughter crying in pain but it was too late since Alpha had already brought her right by its side and was in no way letting go of her.
Cindy gasped upon watching her daughter trying her best to come out of grip of Alpha but to no avail. Cindy then looked a few feet up of Martha where to meet eyes with Alpha who at that time smirked at the helplessness of the two of them.
Cindy couldn't think of any strategy now and collapsed on the ground. She knew no other way of freeing herself now except to join hands in front of Alpha and beg for the her own as well as her daughter's life.
