Jack never considers himself James Bond type of man, where he goes on missions and sleeps around with beautiful, sexy women. But right now, he wonders if he can be one. This long-legged, model-looking girl, Amelia, seems to be cool. And he wonders if he should try his charm... if he has any.
"So...," Jack starts, "Do you have an actual boyfriend? I know Dominic is just your target and you just pretend to be with him."
"I don't have a real boyfriend, and I like to stay that way." Amelia puts her hands on her hips, "Do you have anything else to say?"
Maybe he is not James Bond type of man. Jack does not think he sounded very smooth. Amelia is apparently not impressed by him. She doesn't look like she is seduced.
Jack says, "Well, if we can work together, would you be so kind and keep an eye on him while my people come and get him within a few days?"
"That's not a problem. But would you help me find who I want to find, too?"
"Of course. A legend is whom you are looking for, right?" Jack props his hands on top of his head, "Um, and do you have a possible name for that legend? Any clue for me?"
"Yes, I can send you the name and the image that we managed to capture."
Now that Amelia is going to give him information, Jack regrets saying all of that. Why does he offer to help her? He's got Keith wanting him to work for him. There is also Nitte, whom he has to keep an eye on and tries to understand, and that means he has to help Nitte, too, in order to understand what she is doing. On top of Keith, Nitte, he also has his NYPD job. Why would he even volunteer to help Amelia? A beautiful woman who is not going to sleep with him anyway. Geez. Jack! You are stupid!
"Actually, I shouldn't promise you anything," Jack quickly says, "I do have a lot of business going on."
"You want payment, right?" Amelia asks.
"Yeah."
Amelia takes a step to Jack, putting a hand on his shoulder, "What if I can also pay you?"
"But I really am super busy already." Jack is surprised by what Amelia is suggesting.
Amelia pushes him down to the sofa and sits on top of him.
"Touch me." She says.
Jack gulps, "Um, you're not trying to say your body is your payment, are you?"
"Is my body not a good payment?"
"Well, I would think that's a bad concept in general. I mean, you shouldn't think of yourself as a payment. You are a human being."
"Everything has a price. Your service has a price. Think of this as my service, and I hope to match your price." Amelia says, and she tilts her head like she is about to kiss him.
In Jack's mind right now, he has a wicked idea. He can still make out with her but then afterwards, he will just not commit to do anything for her. It's not like there's any contract to hold him to it. But he doesn't want to be that kind of jerk.
"Will you kiss me even if I don't want to do anything for you?" Jack asks instead.
Amelia moves her head back immediately, she frowns. "Of course not."
"You are not a little bit attracted to me?" Jack continues to ask.
"I mean, yeah, you are kind of cute. I like your hair, your eyes, your face, your height, your body type."
"Then why not?" Jack laughs. He thinks that was a very good compliment.
"OK, fine," Amelia then kisses Jack.
The kiss turns wet and sloppy a lot quicker than Jack anticipated, but it turns him on. To his embarrassment, he can tell he has biological reaction to her kiss down there already. Amelia isn't shy about it and she reaches a hand down and touches him there.
And then, she grabs one of Jack's hand and have him touch her.
Jack thinks this is already too much stimulation. He stops.
"Oh. This is good."
"That's it?" Amelia frowns.
"Yeah. This is very good indeed. I should probably get going." Jack gets up, and realizes Amelia has already unzip him. So he zips his pants.
Amelia scoffs, seemingly offended, "Wow. I was only just starting, voluntarily."
"Well, I enjoyed it. But please, keep an eye on Dominic. I will tell my boss to get to him as soon as possible."
Jack then leaves and he runs to the nearest subway station.
He doesn't know why he suddenly decided to stop. It's like he feels guilty for doing it.
Maybe because he knows he is not going to help Amelia with any requests, so he doesn't want to lead her on or take advantage of a girl.
He takes the train back and he sees a cat walking slowly in front of his apartment building. It's a black cat so it annoys him. Black cat is bad luck.
He then suddenly thinks of Nitte. He hates how he suspects any small animal to be her. And he also hates that at one point, he had suspected if Amelia really was just a result of Nitte shapeshifting. Like, Amelia is suddenly going to turn back into Nitte.
Why does he even have to think about Nitte? He can't let this girl get under his skin.
But it's not up to him to decide, because as soon as he steps into his own apartment, he sees Nitte.
"What the f*k!" Jack exclaims out of shock. "Why the hell are you in my apartment? I locked it. Oh. You must have turned yourself into some small creature and crawled into my room."
"Good, you figured out that a stupid human lock on the door isn't going to keep me away." Nitte says, smiling.
"Why are you here again? Shouldn't you be with your date, Jie Ai?"
"I am still with him, but I have work to do. With you." Nitte stands up from Jack's couch.
"What do you want to do?" Jack takes off his jacket and puts his keys down.
"I believe you have completed a task for Keith. So now it's my turn. I think it's only fair you do one thing for him, and then you do one thing for me."
"I do things for him because at least he pays me. I kind of don't have to do things for you."
"But you promised!" Nitte pouts her lips, her voice sounds like a little girl, "You said you'd do something for me and I would teach you so you can get awesome superpowers!"
For some reason, her childish voice works on Jack this time. Jack remembers he used to kind of dislike this type of voice. But now he feels fine with it and he actually softens his attitude.
"OK, tell me, I'll think about it. You did teach me how to be a spider."
"Yeah. And you need to keep practicing it. Or you'll forget how to be a spider. Or you'll be a very stupid spider."
Jack laughs. He likes her simple way of expression.
"But first of all, I have a question for you," Nitte says. She has a curious smile.
"OK?"
"If Amelia and I both fall into the water, who would you rescue?"
