Kian brought out a box from the inner pocket of his coat and placed it in the palm of her hand. She looked at him in surprise.
He opened the box for her. Alysé gasped in disbelief. In her palm was placed the most beautiful and rare rose diamond pendant with a delicate platinum chain.
"Do I have your permission to wrap my heart around you?" – he said in an entreating voice. Words! What beautiful words were these. he strung words together in the most melodious fashion to take her heart away.
"You are stealing me away from myself." – she complained.
"What's wrong in that!" he said. "If you trust me, then there is nothing to worry about. I won't let you fall and I won't desert you."
His words were sweet and lured her heart to him…but she wanted confirmation to those words. She saw it in his eyes. Her heart leapt towards him.
She nodded her assent.
