Chapter 26 - The gamble they played....

The Tennis League was a unique championship in the Tennis world. It was modelled on the soccer leagues. It boasted of six teams representing six nations, owned by independent entities from these nations.

Its format was different from all the other championships. The Tennis League was rigorous and the mother of all championships because it was being played on all three surfaces – grass, clay and indoors.

The teams needed to assign players, in advance, who would play on each surface. The franchise which had the most wins would be declared champions.

The six teams were divided into two groups - A and B.

                      Team A                                Team B

                    Indian ARK.                      American Raiders

                  French Vikings                  Russian Ravens

                    Brit Eagles                      Japanese Jaguars
