"Thank God our school bus was here. Now I won't be worried about getting drunk because I'm sure Leira will send me home safely after the party. Right, bestie?" Zara brushed her cheek on Leira's face kiddingly.
That caused Leira to frown a bit. With Zara expecting her to send her home, then what will happen with her plans with Dennise?
Leira just pretended that she didn't hear Zara. She didn't want that topic to go further because she had another plan, and she still didn't know how the party would end up. Although, she was actually hoping for it to end up the way she planned.
To have more time with Dennise and even send her home and hopefully stay there for a night.
Not long after, Dennise arrived, looking so fabulous with her backless glitter dress paired with five inches long stiletto that caught even the sorority officials' attention. It surely was a torture of their pride if they saw someone standing out that was a newbie or had not even completed and pledged to be a sister.
But, Dennise. Proudly sashayed across the room towards her friends. She had definitely seen her group of friends. However, her eyes were still darting around.
"Hello! We're here!" Leira waved her hands to get Dinnese attention.
"I got a feeling that I know what those eyes are looking at,"Zara smirked.
"Oh, you do?" Dennise twitched her mouth teasingly while raising her eyebrow. She does know what Zara meant and Zara, exactly knew what she meant too.
"Well, well, well, what is that? Why is it just you know what you're talking about?" Ella teasingly squinted her eyes as she leaned with her hands under her chin while she supported her elbows with her crossed knees.
"Yeah, you should reveal to the group any secrets you have. I guess since this friendship had already started. We should make a friendship pact. With what we had all experienced together, I think we had already made a connection that was stable enough for us to trust each other." Leira suggested.
"I don't totally agree with that. I don't know if you guys have been together long enough. However, I'm sorry to tell you that even what we had experienced the other day. I still don't consider that as a stable foundation of our friendship to gamble our trust," Yden's remarks don't only shut Leira's mouth, but as well as her mood. Although not totally shattered, she was about to realize that her night wouldn't be as to her as she thought it would be.
A friendship bond could be a way for her to monitor Dennise, could also be a means that she can be free to ask Dennise anything she wanted to know about her without suspecting her other intention.
Although, it seemed this wasn't the right time yet. However, she knew she won't stop finding ways still, and one-day, things and situations will flow on as she planned.
"Actually, what I just wondered that only Zara understands, was why there aren't any boys around. As I heard before, sorority parties are open exclusively to the sisters and the known boys on the campus. In fact, it was being said that this is the only party that the University sports team 'the fangs' attended," Dennise flopped her back as she leaned heavily to the sofa's backrest.
"The fangs?" Ella asked. She was obviously unaware of the campus's famous people.
"The fangs, they are the name of the school team in any sports," Yden was being kind of explaining to Ella. As soon as Ella could relate, she abruptly shut her mouth, she felt a little out of place, but she didn't want it to be too obvious. Even though she was already trying to blend in with other groups, there's still that little insecurity for her ability to socialize.
A while later, the sound of a clinking utensil on glass took their attention. The familiar girl who acted as their MI was standing in the midst of the room and was holding a wine glass with a dark gold liquid inside and a knife.
"Girls, This party tonight will be a celebration for the only group of girls who had survived on our first initiation. Let me invite them here to the center. Yden, Ella , Dennise, Zara and Leira."
The five girls walked to the front. Eden held Ella in her hands after she noticed Ella's hand shivered.
"Are you okay?" Yden asked as she muttered to Ella.
Ella, on the other hand, nodded. But her lips were shivering too, which only contradicted her reply to Yden.
"I know you are not," Yden insisted while holding Ella's hand harder, clasping it with her both hands.
"The truth, I'm not used to standing in front of people. Much more, between the sorority sisters," Ella mumbled. Her voice was so low since she made sure that only Yden could hear their conversation.
"It's okay, just pretend that you are fine. Try not to show them that you are jittery inside. I heard that they would hit an applicant directly on their weaknesses. So never show them your weaknesses," Yden whispered to Ella the last time before they moved their focus back to the center of the room.
Together Ella and Yden took a deep breath before they wore their not so genuine smile to the girls that surrounded them.
As soon as all of them reached the middle of the room. The sounds of overly formal applause filled the entire room.
"Girls, as our surprise reward of achieving and completing the first initiation. I want to pimp up your first-party experience with this sorority. And with that, allow me to welcome… The Fangs,"
The girls that surrounded them clapped in their usual formal way. However, Dennise and Zara were so excited that they screamed happily after an array of drop-dead gorgeous players slipped into the room.
