Chapter 9 - 9. FIRST IMPRESSION?

Roger had been wondering for a while but could not figure out why he felt uneasy about the figure that had passed him the day before. It felt like it did not belong. He vaguely remembered what had happened that day. When he saw the figure, he found himself on the hallway. His heart was beating so fast from anger. Felicity was gone and something about some family had Bruce and Hailey on edge.

The sun constantly sought to touch their skin through the trees. The air was bright with birdsong but she did not seem to be enjoying this. Her eyes looked dead, her body looked cold. Michael looked at her and offered her a blanket to wrap around herself but she did not take it. He called out to her but she did not respond.

Her head hang dangerously low for some reason. Stretching out his hand, he attempted to gently tap her when he heard her snoring silently. She was asleep. He had not noticed and had only looked at her when she entered the carriage. He had not known how long he had sat looking outside but now she had fallen asleep. That was why she looked cold. He sighed and covered her. Michael adjusted her sitting position as well so that she could not injure herself.

The journey was a long one and the work was not going to be easy. He had set out one of his traps for her but it did not affect her. Perhaps the rumors of the last giving birth to a human child were true. He had confirmed this with his very own eyes. He just hoped his mistress would as well. However, knowing her, she would prefer to handle things her own way.

At a huge mansion, there was one person who eagerly waited. She was at her bedroom window looking out toward the gate. Whether it was someone she knew, or a carriage of an unknown person, she would rush down to welcome them. She had been disappointed every time but her smile and eagerness never wavered.

As she stood for the fifth time at her bedroom window, the door to her room opened. She did not look back as all her energy was used to look outside. She was short and barely at the height of her windowsill. She had to tiptoe in order to look outside. She had tried getting a chair to the window but she thought it would waste too much time.

A tall well built young man entered her room. They had the same eye color. But their hair was different. He had bright sapphire blue eyes, black long hair that was neatly tired behind his hair and a dark suit to match. A portion of his hair was left at his side, hiding his right eye. He smiled when his eyes landed on his little sister.

Since she was the youngest and a lady from a noble household, she needed Simeon who would train here in the proper manners of being one. And no one was better that the daughter to Bruce. She was rumored to be more elegant than the princesses in the kingdom. Her kindness surpassed that of angels and her beauty made most die of envy.

If such a lady was training her, he was sure his little sister would pick the best qualities of this mysterious lady. Not much was known about her as she never once left her house. Those who had seen her only had praises. And from what he had gathered, he found no flaws in her. He wished he could lay his eyes on this priced possession for so long, who would have known fate would bring them together.

Slowly, he walked to her and lifted her easily. She let out a squeal as she clutched to the nearest thing, the curtains. Her eyes were shut tightly as she waited for whoever had her to put her down. Yet, that never happened. Instead, she heard someone try to hold back a laughter and was seriously failing in their mission.

Warm hands secured her firmly in a position. Out of curiosity, she opened one eye and peeped. Her eyes landed on her brother who was trying to hold back a laughter while holding a straight face. She did not know which was funnier but she also found herself laughing. They both laughed for a while and her gaze shifted to the window.

From her brothers height, she could see the view from a high vantage point that as firm and secure. It was also warm. She smiled and thanked her brother while still looking outside. His thoughts wondered while his sister looked outside. But not too long after, a high pitched scream pulled him back to Earth.

When he looked outside, he saw Mr. Michael's carriage approaching. She was screaming something else but he could not pick it out as his ears rang from the scream she had released earlier. She squirmed on his arms but he still managed to let her down gently. Once her feet had landed, she instantly took his hand and dashed to the door.

Their parents and other siblings were not home, and this made them glad. They were the only two that did not let power go to their heads like the rest. The two of them valued their family bond more than money. And if their mother saw them now, she would pull of her hair screaming. They would be punished and yelled at but now, they were free.

This made him smile. The maids also smiled when they saw this part of them. They gave them way and continued with their work. He knew he was faster than her, but he let have her way today. After all, she had just turned nine, her lady was one praised by the whole kingdom and her no one was here to yell at her today.

Felicity felt someone tap her shoulder. She opened her eyes slowly. Mr. Michael had already unpacked her belongings and was patiently waiting for her outside. She quickly apologized and alighted. When she was about to close the door, Michael stopped her and did it himself. Almost immediately, she felt someone hug her feet making her stagger a bit.

When she regained her posture, she looked down to little blue eyes starring back at her. Her hair was wavy and long. Most of it was already obstructing her sight. She lowered herself to her height and tied her hair properly. Everyone was shocked. They stopped and looked at Felicity. The young one's hair was stubborn in a very unnatural way.

Stylists had tried calming it a tone but it never obeyed but now, with a flick of her hand, she had tied it in a messy burn that made the little one look more elegant. Once she was done, she patted her head and rose up. When she smiled, the little one blushed and curtseyed.

When the door had opened, Mr. Michael came out first which left the little one very disappointed. After a little while stepped out a very beautiful young Lady. Her dress was blue and very simple. Her hair too was left unrestricted. The dress clung to her in the right places making her look heavenly. It was not too tight but the tailor made sure to capture her shape perfectly.

His sister dashed forth but all he could do was stand there and watch. He was rooted to the ground. His heart was acting strange as it drummed harder than it had in his lifting. His face was burning up and for a few seconds he forgot to breath. His mouth was dry, his brain blank. His hands were cold yet he felt very much at live at the moment.

He wanted to stay at that moment for a little longer. In his eyes, he had not seen a woman this perfect and he, for one, had seen and come across many. He mentally scolded himself and made a move. He did not approach too near as he did not know what was going to happen once he did.

"Sir Jayden." Michael bowed to him.

"Michael, welcome home."

"Thank you sir, her belongings, where…"

"The room next to Jodie's."

The moment those words flew right out of his mouth was when his face drained all its color. The room next to Jodie, his little sister, would allow her to access her anytime she was needed but there was something else. That room, was across his own. Meeting her had made his world stop. What was going to happen now that she would be sleeping and staying very close to his very own room?
