Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Ring of Power

For the nth time, the woman in black visited Halora. Hypnotized, and let the power inside of her manipulate the poor teenage girl.

"In the right time, you will disclose the truth about your parents' death. And I know you have the ring with you!" spoke a mysterious, creepy woman from a distance.

She wanted to stay and looked after her, but she smelled something irritating. "A werewolf? There's a werewolf coming!"

Roy walked back and forth until his gaze stuck on her bag. "Cellphone! Yes, there must be someone to contact," He took her bag from the bench and searched for it.

He was nervous about what happened, and Roy was still shocked. "Where is it? Where... where is your phone, Halora?"

However, he failed to find anything inside of her bag. There was no cellphone even the oldest model.

Frustration led him to caress his head, seated before the girl who was sleeping in peace. "Wh–what is happening to you? Te–tell me because I've been carrying this out since we were still young!"

The school's clinic was too huge for a patient. The nurse gave her a lot of time to take a rest before going back to the classroom.

"But... wait! Wh–what happened to your fingers?" He noticed the mark on the ring.

It was clear enough for him to speculate that someone was forced to steal the ring from her. Until the roof sounded off so loudly, as if there was a heavy thing landed on it.

"Where is it coming from? Ahh!" The woman in black fled to the roof and searched for the disturbing smell.

She looked throughout the entire campus. Spread her arms and burst into a kind of awful laughter comprised of small, ephemeral victories.

"I shall reclaim the ring of power which I deserved! I will be the Queen of all witches and shall kill the Werewolf King!"

The bright sky became dull, gloomy, and dark. A flash of lightning came to the ground, stroke, and have fear to the mortals.

"Hahahaha!" She laughed, snapped her fingers and the rain poured down to the bottom. "I shall see you again, Halora."

And when the wind blew up, she vanished, rode with a broomstick.

Few of the students saw an odd creature but chose to ignore it. The rain poured heavily which has caused a lot of trouble and pending works for everyone.

Tic tac, tic tac, the clock sounded off. It was nearly afternoon when Halora moved her fingers. She slowly opened her eyes, recalled what had happened earlier.

"Roy, wake up!" She rubbed her eyes, leaned back against the wall. "The rain had stopped! We must go back now!"

Roy looked at her worried and scared. He thought she was possessed by the stranger. "Thank God you are awake!" He suddenly embraced her tightly and tenderly.

He looked throughout the peaceful hallway, sighed heavily in relief. "She's gone. No one can hurt you all over again, do you understand?"

Hermione shook her head, gulped, and earned enough strength. She saw the witch's face and there was something mysterious hid beneath her eyes.

By then, both of them left the school's clinic for good. They walked normally, eliminated the fear from their vulnerable hearts.

However, there was a group of boys who walked coolly towards the wide field. They were angry, breathed with fire that caught Roy's attention.

"What's going on?" He murmured, looked around to find someone to ask a question to.

And there was a couple who passed by, spoke about the gangsters who caused trouble first. "A bloody battle?" Her knees trembled, shivered out of fear.

"No... No! I need to follow them before they could have the chance to hurt him!"

"Where are you going?" Roy quickly grabbed her hand, asked her an intense question. "It's too dangerous for you to go to the school's field! Come on, he can handle himself!"

But, she shook her head in disagreement. She felt he needed her help and so, she looked at Roy sharply and ran off.

Despite her condition, she went to the field and searched for the campus bad boy. Her pulse had stopped pounding, felt a strange, strong feeling.

"Sebastian, where are you?"

Her voice echoed entirely the wide-field but no one was around. "Wh–what's going on? I... thought there will be a fight with two groups of gangsters?"

Birds chirped and deep breaths and a heavy heart. Halora moved in a circular motion, savored the sounds of nature, and the power of instincts.

Until she heard a loud, disturbing noise came from the back of the gymnasium. It was clear, certain, and precise. The school's field was found in front of the gymnasium.

She then quickly ran and looked for the sound until..., "Oh! Look who's here!"

"She must be the poor, bullied girl, right boys?" One of the boys giggled as he gripped the baseball bat he was holding.

They were ten boys, carried different types of weapons. "Who... Who are you?"

"You're too naive and idiot! How could you asked me that kind of question, huh?" The leader of the gang walked fast and pulled her arm angrily.

"Look at me, pathetic, idiot girl!"

He was about to slap her but one of the members said, "Master!" He caught the leader's attention and before he could be punished, he whispered, "She was the girl he saved, many months ago."

"Ohh, the girl in the cafeteria, right? Hmm. I remembered you now, Young Lady. But, forgive me because you will pay for his debts!"

Halora wiggled, tried to elude, but the boy gripped her arm tightly. "What... what are you talking about? And why would I pay for a stranger's debts?"

The boy snarled furiously, slapped her forcibly which has made her fell to the ground. She breathed deeply, planned to scream, and asked for help.

"Help me! Help me! Pl–please, I need your help!" She asked for help, but, it was as foolish as she was.

"You freak, why did you do that?" Once again, she was slapped hardly by a gangster.

It was hard for her to stand. Her lower lip bled, her pale face turned into a purplish one. The boy's hand leave a mark which was strong evidence against his cruelty.

She slowly touched her lip, nervous and scared to death. She listened to the birds, to the sound of the wind, and to her vulnerable heart.

"Redeem me, Sebastian. Please, redeem me now." She moved sideways, but it was too late for her to escape now.

"No... No! No! Please, don't do that to me!"

"It won't hurt you, I promise." He mumbled and gave her a sarcastic laugh.

What would be the next thing to happen? Would Sebastian redeem Halora before it's too late or it would be the end of everything?
