"I am anything but foolish, my lady. I prefer to get blind and bask in your light than get devoured with regret once the day ends."
A shallow breath slipped past my lips as my tensed shoulder relaxed. This Grand Duke surely had his way with his words. I wonder how many had fallen in his sweet mouth? Probably too many to count.
"Do you feel better now?" he asked in a gentle tone, and I shook my head weakly. My reaction caused his brows to knit.
"I feel even worse, Your Grace. Now, I'm not just frustrated, but jealous as well." I rolled my eyes and brushed his hands away from my shoulder. "You're such a sweet talker that I'm thinking about preparing a parliament to write down all the ladies' names in the capital."
"My. It seems my fiance will be busy tonight then," he humored, and I cast him a dead look. He was enjoying this.
"Your Grace, please have mercy on my fragile heart."
Luis chortled as he offered his arm to me. "I'm trying."
