The closer we got to the entrance of the banquet hall, the more I felt this foreign anxiety creeping into my heart. I never felt nervous in my life. A surge of adrenaline, yes, but not this strange one.
"Don't be nervous. It will be fine." He squeezed my hand lightly, and I gazed up at him.
"I am not nervous," I denied, but my tone wouldn't convince anyone.
"Sure. If that is what you say." Luis shrugged and soon we stopped in front of the entrance. There are two knights guarding the door and I exchanged gazes with them.
"Watch where you look."
I didn't dwell on my fiance's warning to the guards as I was already aware he didn't enjoy being gazed upon aside from yours truly. While I was busy calming my heart, the guarding knights stepped aside to make way.
I held my breath as the door slowly opened, and the muffled cheers and laughter gradually sounded merry and distinct.
