Ryker Itsuka wakes up to see the ceiling of his small but cozy apartment that he resides in all by himself. Ryker sits up and rubs his eyes to wake up but when he looks at his alarm clock the fear of death and despair fill his very soul.
Ryker: 9:30! OH CRAP!
Realizing that he is almost late enough for Hera to realize he zips down into his kitchen all while completely blasting the hinges off of his bedroom door. Yes, I said the Hinges.
Ryker: Hera is gonna freeze me to a toilet seat or something if I'm late again. There's no way I'm ever making her mad at me again after last time.
Ryker thinks back to 3 months ago when he had dashed off much too quickly and blasted the surrounding area with a large amount of wind that covered her brand new White witch hat dirt and water. The hat is now Brown and Ryker is still horrified by her ability to use ice magic in very creative ways.
Ryker: Alright, now where's my uniform? Oh yeah, Yurie still has it doesn't she. Looks like orange and green it is.
After Ryker puts on his Green and Orange Martial Arts Gi he heads of to the Magic University of Ranland where he arrives just on time to his Hand to Hand combat classes.
Ryker: Perfect, the only class I'm actually good at.
Several minutes later, Ryker enters his class and takes his seat next to Yurie and Dex.
Ryker: What's up Yurie, how's your day been.
With a slightly annoyed look
Yurie: Where have you been all day? You missed Wind and Earth class.
Ryker: I know but everybody hates us wind users anyway.
Yurie: I really wish you'd stop being so self conscious about that elemental Hierarchy stuff.
Ryker: I'm not the one who believes in it, it's everybody that glares at me when I walk by.
Teacher: Attention everyone! We will be doing the final Whip Style hand to hand combat examination today. It would be much appreciated if you took this seriously seeing as only the top 10 students will move on to Sword Mastery.
Ryker: Heh, this'll be easy enough.
Dex: That's rich coming from the weakling scumbag who can only run away.
Class: Laughs*
Student: Aren't you the guy with a cursed Intervention Ryker? Yeah that was you.
Yurie: He-
Ryker: I'm fine, it doesn't phase me anymore.
Teacher: Positions! Ryker Itsuka will be facing Dex Mazer first.
Dex: This guy? Really sir shouldn't I be up against an actual challenge this is a test after all.
Ryker: Guess if you can't beat me then you shouldn't even be attending the school at all should you? I mean, I am just a lowly Wind Fighter right?
Dex: Getting a bit cocky for a filthy peasant such as yourself.
Teacher: Enough! Positions now boys!
Ryker/Dex: Yes Sir!
Ryker and Dex get into position on opposite sides of the mat prepared for their professor to start the match.
Ryker: Let's see if it takes me any longer than 10 seconds.
Dex: Tch, what a cocky little shit. Standing there and staring me down with no guard at all.
Teacher: Are you ready Itsuka?
Ryker: Waiting on you Sir.
Teacher: Begin!
Silence and cocky smirks overtake the class as most of the students believe the winner has been decided. To them, there is no way that Dex could lose to a rat like Ryker.
Dex: You ready to be humiliated in front of your girlfriend?
Ryker: Didn't know that your sister was here? Mind pointing her out for me?
Dex: You Helios think your so great, I'll show you what true might is you Wretched Animal!
Dex bursts his mana outwards, covering his body in a deep red aura as he dashes towards Ryker with all of his power. His only goal was to humiliate Ryker so he could impress Yurie Nakayama.
Dex: Time for you to feel true defeat Ryker!
Ryker: There's no way this guy is actually serious. Trying to hit me with an obvious axe kick that he can't get out of. He has to be going for a one shot win.
To everyone in the room (except Yurie) Dex was moving at very high speeds towards Ryker but to Ryker he seemed like a snail with an ugly face and a Prideful attitude.
Ryker: Looks like you got a bit too cocky buddy.
Dex: Wha- where did he go?
Ryker: I never understood why people don't look up or behind them. It's so dumb to me.
Teacher: How did he move so fast? Not even I could track him.
Dex tries to recover mid air but fails at this, landing him a hand stand looking backwards where Ryker's voice came from but yet again Ryker was nowhere to be found.
Dex: What? That cocky litt-
Ryker: I believe that'd be you, Dexy.
Ryker appears almost out of nowhere next to Dex and Roundhouse kicks him far off of the mat meaning Ryker had won the match.
Dex: You little shit. FIREBALL!
Ryker: What! Idiot!
Just before making impact, Dex's spell is blocked by a water spell from their teacher.
Teacher: Dex! I believe I told YOU specifically that there was to be no Fire Magic on this side of the University. Correct?
Dex: But sir he-
Teacher: Get out of my classroom. NOW!
Dex: You dare speak to me like that old man? I will have you fi-
Ryker: Just shut up and leave man. Literally nobody cares that you're dad has some money.
Dex: What did you say to me.
Teacher: Either you leave my room now or I'll take you back to your father personally.
Dex: Fine, whatever.
Dex leaves the classroom to wait at the hall's end.
Teacher: Now then Sir Itsuka. You will be moving on to the next round, congratulations on your impressive victory.
Ryker: Thank you Sir. See Yurie, you don't have to worry about me all the time.
Yurie: If you weren't so reckless I wouldn't have to. But good job anyway, I didn't know you had gotten even faster.
Teacher: Next up is Yurie Nakayama!
