Chapter 8 - Forums

Deimos was sitting lounging in the hall on the first floor of the fortress, while outside he listened to the players constantly talking, while they read a note pasted in the gatehouse.

*********

Given the constant interactions by the players, the NPC cannot continue to answer your questions until he rests, please come back later

*********

"What is this, the NPCs get tired too?"

"Maybe, I guess it's a feature they added given the advanced artificial intelligence they have"

"Damn, I can't see my husband Deimos like that."

"Your husband? He is mine! "

"If it weren't because they can't harm each other here, they would have already killed each other"

...

"{Sigh} I wonder if they'll calm down a bit later, that interacting with those players for an hour is more exhausting than three days of patrol in a row."

"They will eventually boy"

"... I better not think about it, did Yin or Selena send a message?"

"Some with the current situation and how the forums exploded with the revelations of the players"

"That is normal, how are the players adapting?"

"Not so good boy, in just one hour more than 65% of the players have died more than once, you should look at the forums.

Hearing that, Deimos opened an interface that was something similar to a holographic window, courtesy of Abaddon, and looked at what he was referring to.

"This is interesting, what things the players will have invented to survive" Said Deimos while he accessed one of the dozens of topics in the forum

*********

Hello and welcome, I am your dear host AWellInformedGoblin, perhaps I will be remembered by my Skyisland guides like the one from 'How not to be a worker 101' or the one from 'Basic worker survival guide'

But today we are not here to talk about that, but about all the information that I was able to collect, since there is still no way to take videos given the status of the server, I will use some images as a reference "

First point: What everyone must be wondering so far is if this game has really managed to reach the level of realism that they promised, this was thought unattainable in the next thirty or forty years, if it weren't for the interface it would be almost impossible to distinguish it from reality.

Another thing that we managed to identify is that physics has achieved a level of total realism. They do not believe me? Here are some images * IMG ** IMG ** IMG *.

In them, you can see how we managed to create a simple trap by digging a hole in the ground at random and placing some branches in addition to lifting rocks and things using levers (we still need to do more tests).

In addition, all the actions we do really affect the server, when we returned after several hours the hole was still there, others have also verified that the objects that move outside the fortress are kept until someone else moves them

I know it's unbelievable, but it's true.

Also near the territory, there is a river, where we were able to verify that the fluid mechanics are totally faithful to reality as well as being able to fish a little and yes, you are also capable of drowning.

With that said I can go on, which leads us to.

Second point: Before even thinking about playing, you must know that this is an extremely Hardcore game, leaving aside some basic skills that we can apparently learn and get support from the system to improve our body to some extent, everything else must be done with your own abilities.

Whether it's fighting, hunting, fishing, training your body or anything else, the system provides hardly any advice and no help.

And related to the second point, we have the third: dying, as you know, dying in these games is inevitable, and it is not especially pleasant, especially if we do not decrease the level of sensitivity when I manage to bring together a group of players and we try to climb. invisible barriers, the result was that we fell over each other and broke my neck.

Because I died quickly I hardly felt anything but other players who only broke an arm or a leg told me that the pain was real and they had to lower their sensitivity to endure it.

With that, we discover that when you die your soul is confined to a space of five meters from your corpse until another player revives you by spending an essence point in the same place (apparently it is the currency of exchange or at least one of them when I manage to obtain more information about these, the other are copper coins so in the future I will create an exclusive guide so wait for it,) or in this case, waiting thirty minutes in the main square as long as your body is relatively intact.

So my friends, going out alone is dangerous, take a partner with you at least so that if one of you falls, the other can revive him or drag his body back to town.

We also discovered that after being revived by another player and if nobody took anything from your body, there are no more penalties in itself, but in case nobody was there to revive you or if your body is left in an unrecoverable state, it only remains to free your soul ( Tentative name as the developers didn't give it a specific one).

By doing this, everything you bring with you will stay where your character fell and you will also lose a minimum of 3 essence but don't worry, you can't go negative.

At this point they must be thinking 'The essence seems very important for everything, how can we obtain it?'

Well, friends, that brings us to the fourth point of this guide, the missions:

After a speech about saving the world, the NPC that we believe is the head of the faction (we do not know if there will be more factions to join later) gave us the main mission to become stronger through general missions such as killing enemies, collect materials such as wood, stone, minerals, and food, as well as cultivate some land or follow the instructions to carry out some construction.

Here photos of the event and the specific missions * IMG * * IMG * * IMG * * IMG * * IMG * * IMG *

Maybe now you are thinking, but that does not seem so difficult does it? Well, let me tell you that you are wrong, in this game there is no inventory, so everything you carry weighs and you are very limited, we discovered that each player can load if they fit it well, an average of 45 kilos without affecting their mobility (But you will get tired eventually)"

Later, don't forget to visit my worker's survival guide, BH edition v1 for a more detailed view of how we can do these missions.

We also believe that the game also provides essence after a certain time connected, this thanks to one of the conversations that one of my fellows had with the vampire lord, but we still do not know how long we should wait

After self-advertising we now have the fifth point, the enemies:

Since the official page has not provided anything yet, I will make a provisional bestiary.

Like everything in this game the enemies are currently extremely difficult, so far we have only been able to confirm the existence of a total of 7 enemies here their approximate statistics.

But first of all, I remind you this game is realistic, so do not expect an enemy to disappear leaving loot, we will have to take it and even open it ourselves so if you know a butcher or doctor, invite him to your hunting groups, It will help you collect the mission objects and who knows, treat your wounds so that you do not bleed to death.

---------

Low-level undead: as its name implies, it is a random mob that appears to the north and west of the map.

They have great strength but are relatively slow and it is easy to make them fall into traps so if they fight face to face it is recommended teams of at least 3 to distract him or if you go alone, dig a hole deep enough and attract it to the hole.

We assume that they will be weak to fire but we have not been able to verify it

With that in mind, we can give you 1 * in danger level.

There is currently a daily quest that can be completed by killing 5, no known drops so far

---------

Mid-tier undead

They are the elite version of the normal undead, or so we think, they are very rare in the vicinity and are actually only a little faster than the normal ones.

They contribute to the mission but do not give any additional benefit, so we will keep them at 1 * but remember that they may end up outnumbered you if they go too far into their territory

---------

Corrupted spiders

These giant spiders of more than one meter high reside in the forest to the west of the territory, if one goes into the forest it is easy to find them in groups of 3 or more so I recommend them to those who want to do the daily mission of the spiders. , just hunt around the edge of the forest and take more players with you.

They are as agile as what you would expect from a one-meter spider and you have to be careful not to fall into their webs.

We still do not find weaknesses

Whether they are collecting and hunting they are especially careful, unlike the undead, the spiders after killing the player, if there are no more players to avoid it, they will carry the bodies to their nests so it will be impossible for them to recover their equipment.

Given this, the danger level of these spiders is 4 * since if they capture you, consider your lost equipment, more if you are careful their combat power only reaches 3 * on the danger scale

---------

Corrupt poisonous spiders

We have not seen it yet but we know that they exist for a repeatable mission, we assume that you are deeper in the forest and will be the elite version of the common spiders

We'll give you 5 * for the poison

---------

Steppe wolves

They are basically wolves the size of foxes, they have great agility and usually live in groups of 13 to 16

Individually they do not represent much danger (1 *) but the more there are, the more difficult it is to hunt, so we recommend going at least in equal numbers or not be exceeded 1 to 1.5.

The whole group is 3 * but that's only if they don't have an alpha.

---------

Alpha steppe wolf

It is a wolf twice the size and is sometimes found in some groups, its power exceeds that of individual spiders and the groups under its command are incredibly coordinated.

Basically, they are the first mini-bosses to appear, individually they have 5 * of danger but together with their group they become 6 * and the group becomes 4 *, so despite being able to go hunting in the southern steppes With groups of 10 players, I recommend setting up raids of at least 25 players in case you find one.

PS: Just like the spiders, the wolves will end up devouring your characters so if there is no one to revive them soon, there will be no choice but to free the soul and return to the city, but at least they have the will to leave the team for now. that if they return, they may find it where they fell.

---------

Mining goblins:

Yes, these greens appear from time to time in some of the mines to the east of the territory, there may be more types but at the moment we have not been able to find them.

In addition to fighting them to get their rusty beaks and loincloths we have not been able to find another related mission, we have tried to talk to him NPC but certain players blocked him by chasing him while asking him to give them babies so we do not know if we can continue with this questline until tomorrow.

Since their fighting level varies and they are very rare to find, we will give it 2.5 * and they usually take the equipment of those who defeat

---------

Now you should be able to understand the dangers around us so it is the right time to move on to the sixth point, personal administration:

We find out the hard way that it's not a good idea to completely turn off pain sensitivity and such.

Since if we remove the mission interface and the names above our heads, there is nothing else that tells us that we are in the game, we have to decide based on how we feel if our characters suffer from fatigue, hunger, thirst, or cold, so for my fellow beta testers, I do not recommend turning off the pain and tenderness system, as you may not be aware of your own state and end up dying unnecessarily.

Among other additional points that are not so relevant or some of my unconfirmed theories are:

-For now you can only choose humans as a race, we theorize that in the future more races such as goblins and other fantasy races could be unlocked.

Perhaps if the mining goblin quest line moves forward, I'll be able to go back to being the knowledgeable goblin from before.

As I already mentioned, to collect the materials from the fallen enemies, we need to dissect them ourselves, so it is advisable to study a little anatomy of your target before going hunting, you do not want to ruin the materials that you got by extracting them.

Following this, being injured does not mean death as I have seen mentioned in other posts, if the wound is small, sealing with earth or mud will suffice, if it is more serious, try to apply the necessary first aid to survive and return to the town

An example of this is that if a wolf tears your arm, you can cut and burn the wound to stop the bleeding, when you return to town after five minutes, you will be like new (try to turn off the sensitivity before doing so)

Or they can invite someone with medical expertise to their groups to provide emergency treatment that actually has a valid medical basis.

For now, that's it, tomorrow do not forget to stop by my next guide and for more information on the history of the game so far do not forget to visit the Sweet_Diary topic for it.

Good luck and may the loot be with you

1- [Goooblin! They must die!]

2- [Damn wasn't the first to comment and hello Goblin_Slayer, I'm surprised they gave you access to the beta]

3- [Who? How did you know my identity if our nicknames do not appear here]

4- [A pity that we can only choose humans for now]

5- [Does anyone know if later we will be able to build our own house]

6- [Perhaps, for now, it only seems that we can demolish the surroundings and make a trench for the fortress wall]

7- [For the alliance! Medical treatment? We should only trust the light]

8- [wrong century ,old man]

9- [I wonder if they added the real money exchange house for magic essence]

10-AWellInformedGoblin [3- Unless you change it, you will appear as anonymous, maybe it was luck that they discovered your identity ...

4- Hopefully they change that soon

5- As he said 6-, maybe we can obtain land and do what we want with them, an example is the fields of crops, which although for now, they are temporary and limited perhaps the developers are testing mechanics with them]

….

"How weird ..." Without bothering to read the comments of the other players any longer, Deimos made the screen disappear in front of him and contemplated the new problem that he had just read.

"I see I'm not the only one who thinks that way boy"

"Well, I suppose this will save them a few deaths, what worries me are those goblins, it is very rare to see them come out of the second underground layer"

Saying that, Deimos got up and planning to go to the mines to investigate, he began to walk towards the Gatehouse, but after opening one of the doors Deimos found himself with a group of players blocking the other side "

"Lord Deimos, give me babies."

"Lord, you can devour all my essence, and while you're at it, me too."

"It finally opened, I have wanted to go to the warehouse to deliver this wood for 20 minutes"

"Lord-"

{Slam} Slamming the door shut, Deimos made his way to the basement where the soul matrix and physical bridge between the two planes stood.

"Now that I think about it, I will do that tomorrow, for today the best thing will be to go to the office to see how they are"

....

"Quick, you have to buy another server to keep the forums up"

"The inbox is saturated with requests for the second beta"

"Who finished all the animal-shaped cookies?"

[Maybe going back now was not the best idea]

"Haaa, the boss came back, we are saved"

"Lord help me, those women ... they ... they"

"Yin? What are you doing dressed as a maid? And I didn't tell you not to call me lord here "

"I'm sorry but I'm desperate, I don't-"

"You finally returned director, come to your office please" Being interrupted by a voice, Yin could not finish begging Deimos to get him out of there as he turned around to try to escape

"You are not going anywhere, we have a lot of paperwork that requires you to sign it"

"Hello Selene"

"..."

"I wasn't planning on going anywhere, I just heard that the animal-shaped cookies were gone so I was going to buy more."

"... Yin, you take care"

"But go out like this when everyone else is working ..." Being looked at directly by Selene Yin felt chills that reminded him of his sister and answered unconsciously as he hurried to leave "Yes miss ... {for a second it reminded me of my sister... I hope that no one heard me saying that} "

"Yin?"

Hearing Deimos, Yin just turned slightly on his shoulder and whispered "I'm sorry lord ..." before running to the elevator.

With no further escape, Deimos consoled himself thinking this would be better than listening to the player's chatter and try to play him all day, so he followed Selene to her office.

"And what is the current situation, Selene?"

"As you can see, very busy thanks to your development team"

"But isn't that good?" Deimos said as he massaged his shoulder to try to lighten the mood

"{Gasp} you know what, let's leave it at that, tell me when could you start the second beta with more players?"

"Well you see, the team told me that they needed to test the servers more, so until the current players level up and explore more, I couldn't give an exact date."

"Saying this to the players will become a headache"

"It's easy, look" Pointing to his phone, Deimos told Selene who he did not understand what she was referring to.

"What?"

Without answering, Deimos simply logged into his account on the game's official page and began to broadcast live. "Good afternoon Blood heroes players and non-players, I'm Deimos, the director of DawnGrape's virtual reality department."

"What are you doing, director !?"

Without paying attention to Selene, Deimos continued "I can understand that they are very excited about our game but I am afraid there is bad news, currently due to server problems and until the tests are finished we will not be able to increase the number of participants"

Seeing Selene get up from the couch and quickly cross her office to take the phone from her, Deimos got up and picked up the phone where Selene could not reach and began to speak quickly.

"For the physical and mental health of our deputy director of the department and therefore mine, I ask you to stop sending messages and emails to customer service and instead, pressure the players to obtain more essence and strengthen themselves to finish the first tests earlier "

"Give me that telephone director"

"Whoa, that's all goodbye"

With that last sentence, Deimos ended the transmission and handed the phone to Selene who realized that she could no longer do anything to stop the message, she looked at Deimos with a withering look.

"..."

"..."

"... You know what you just did"

"... Give customer service a well-deserved break?"

Grabbing him by his tie and coming face to face, Selene started yelling at Deimos

"You! ... Do you know how much extra work you just gave us? Now when people see that video they won't stop - "

Being interrupted by the office door suddenly opening, Selene looked in the direction of the sound to see Rebecca enter

"Sis, good news, the messages… Did I interrupt something?"

Seeing that she still had Deimos grabbed by the tie stuck face to face, Selene sighed and let him go

"No Rebecca, what's wrong with the emails?"

"Good news, the volume of constant emails we received decreased by 80%"

"How?"

"If apparently everyone now went to the forums to pressure other players to level up quickly or something like that, also ..."

"What else Rebecca?"

"... They are also saying something that not only in the game but also in real life now they can have the boss's babies and he as the director and the vice director make a beautiful couple"

"That ..." Deciding to temporarily ignore the second part of the report, Selena looked at Deimos in disbelief at what had just happened and asked as she thought about what maybe Deimos had done a good job for the department for a change.

"How did you do it? Speaks"

"With my charisma ... maybe?"

"..."

"..."

"... Sis ... you need some time alone with the boss"

"Yes, thanks Rebecca, if that's all you can leave"

"Don't wait, Rebecca, it was a joke"

{clack} Without hearing Deimos's request, Rebecca left the office leaving the two of them alone once more "

"This..:"

"And what did you say about my health and yours?"

"Well, you see, that's a joke, it's for the players to leave us alone and-"

"And it worked, for that I am grateful,"

She said serene smiling, but her eyes did not reflect the same feeling

"Then-"

"But that does not mean that I need you to finish all this paperwork, I was thinking of doing it since you just got back from working with the development team, but since you care so much about the health of your employees ..."

"Selene?"

"Good luck ... {besides how vain you must be to put your name and appearance to the protagonist of the game ...}"

Thus leaving the other stack of papers on her desk, Selene left the office and after she closed the door, Deimos could faintly hear him say something to the rest of the department, followed by a cheer.

[Well boy, you finished the west wall by breaking the east wall.]

"... Don't worry, besides, I only allow her to be like that because she has shown herself to be able to skillfully manage this place"

[{Phff} whatever you say, boy, I'll never understand mortals]
