Chapter 2 - Sisters?

After having formed the pact with Abaddon, Deimos checked his body but was unable to find any physical changes, so after several seconds he decided to ask him what had happened.

[Don't worry boy, all I did was heal and strengthen your body, as if you were you would not be able to accommodate me.]

"I understand… but then why do I feel so tired?"

[It's normal, after all, I need to use some of your energy for it]

Hearing that and knowing that he couldn't do anything else, Deimos sat down and while he ate an emergency ration that he brought with him he began to meditate.

[... Boy ... what are you doing? We don't have time for you to rest]

"You know that trying to get out of this place exhausted is nothing more than suicide right?"

[{sigh} what is truly a suicide is to stay here in your state, boy my aura started to dissipate since I closed the guide in my seal so soon something will be attracted to this place]

[And what do you suggest?]

[You are a vampire right? Act as one and use blood to speed up your recovery]

[And where do you expect me to get it from, it's been a while since that Bastard Butterflap died so most of his essence has already dissipated into the environment, so I wanted to try to refine a bit of this by meditating]

[There on the ground you have a choice, as far as I can tell it is an elf without a clan, so it should have more essence than your common elf.

I am sure that if you offer to take him out of here, he will give it to you voluntarily]

[A fallen elf? They usually are alone or with people who can help them to get revenge and end their curse, I wonder how that bastard manage to convince it]

Putting those thoughts aside, Deimos approached slowly to avoid any surprises and after tying the servant he removed its hood from her revealing the face of what looked like a young woman with light blue hair.

"huh, a girl, it seems that that bastard couldn't even feed his servants well"

[Although it is not uncommon for her to be a girl, they are usually the only ones who manage to escape or are left alive by those who destroy their clans ...

I guess Butterflap must have gotten her from one of the nearby human or orc black markets]

[You know boy, it strange to me to even think about mortals killing each other]

[As far as I know it is not so strange, there have always been Bastards who seek to take advantage of others when they cannot defend themselves]

[... Before when chaos had managed to invade this world, that did not happen, although I suppose it was not that they did not kill each other for some complicated reason, but rather because they had no other option,

After all, those who created them were watching them and fighting by their side, so they behave and only focus on following orders]

Maintaining his convesation Deimos closed the most serious wounds of the elf and waited for her to wake up.

"Master, something is wrong, come back ... huh, but w-"

Confused, the elf began to look around her until her gaze met Deimos's, which caused her to keep silent.

Seeing that the elf would not say anything, Deimos began to speak explaining the situation

"Do not bother looking for your master, he has died, and luckily for you, you have not died with him."

Saying that and seeing that the elf did not respond he continued talking, Deimos explained that he could help her to get out of that place and maybe avenge her clan if possible but before saying much she interrupted him.

"How could you do something so cruel to Mir, you-"

[uh that's weird, why does she care about that bastard? she should be happy that I'm giving her a chance to get out of here]

[I don't know boy, but don't be surprised by so little, in this world, there are many more bizarre things]

"You are a bad person, you are, you are-"

"No! that…. that is nor true, she {sob} she will be {sob} will be fine"

[Chico, no nos queda mucho tiempo, apresúrate]

Knowing that this conversation would get him nowhere, Deimos sighed to calm himself down a bit and put himself on the same level as the elf began to speak.

"Look, I don't trust you and you don't trust me, but I can promise myself that if you cooperate with me I can help you get out of here alive and if the opportunity is given, I will try to save your sister."

Still in doubt but now with the hope of being able to save her sister, the elf wiped her tears and looked at Deimos

"Are you telling the truth?"

"Yes, for that I need some of your blood"

Hearing what I say the elf hesitated, but quickly a look of determination appeared in her eyes

"Please help my sister"

"I'll try"

With those words and seeing that the elf would not try anything, Deimos approached and bit the left side of her neck, absorbed enough blood to recover, but for the elf it was too much, which caused her to fall unconscious.

[Boy, why the bite? Wouldn't it have been quicker to manipulate the blood through the wounds and directly inject the magic power into you?]

Hearing Abaddon's words, Deimos began to refine the energy that resides in the blood as he answered her question.

[Currently only a few elders still have the ability to manipulate the essence in the blood of others, to prevent the essence from dispersing, we have to be in direct contact with whoever absorbs said blood]

[Hoo, that's strange… I wonder how the strength of mortals has diminished to such a degree.

During the wars of chaos, vampires used to manipulate the blood of the enemies that they managed to wound with their weapons made with their own blood to drain them of their essence and energy and thus fight for days]

After that Deimos and Abaddon continued talking while Deimos carried the elf on his shoulder and walked following the route she had entered.

[By the way boy, I understand you didn't take her blood by force in case she tried something, but why did you decide to bring her]

[I still need to know who it was that sent Butterflap to kill me]

[I see ... and why do you bother looking for the sister?]

[You saw how he appreciates her sister, if at least she managed to get her body back, it might be easier to convince him to help me with the excuse of avenging her sister in the future.]

[... ... Well, you seem to be lucky]

[What are you talking about?]

[Look southwest at two hundred meters]

Following Abaddon's instructions, Deimos looked in the direction indicated and what he saw was a pulsing mass of flesh.

Without even understanding what Abaddon was referring to, Deimos le pregunto a que se estaba refiriendo y que era esa cosa

[It is exactly what it looks like, a mass of flesh, a type of undead that grew using parts of its victims]

[I see, it is a dangerous thing to face anything in my current state, but why do you say that I am lucky to find something like that?]

[Boy, that kind of undead feeds off the life energy of his victims and I can feel the presence of another elf inside of that]

[I see ... it will be difficult to recover the body]

[{suspiro} Boy, you may not know it, but to draw life energy from any living being, it must be alive.]

[...]

[Look boy, the masses of flesh like to destroy the limbs of their victims to prevent them from escaping, thus making it easier for them to keep their victims alive and constantly extract vital energy.]

[I see, so she's alive… now how can we get her out of that monster without killing her in the process?]

[Use a lightning magic, a basic one should be enough since she is unprepared, this will not cause her much damage but will cause her muscles to convulse and spit at the elf, after that it is only a matter of taking the elf and running]

[... you may not have felt it but I don't have that kind of affinity, I only have an affinity with water and ice]

[I know boy, but when I was recovering and reinforcing your body, I took the opportunity to modify your soul a bit, so except for the elements of light and time you should be able to use them all]

Surprised at Abaddon's words, Deimos thanked him and leaving the story of the modifications in his soul for another moment he looked back at the mass of meat.

[Ok, we used a lightning magic and paralyzed the meat mass, but that will not hurt the elf?]

[It's not like a lightning or two had ever killed an elf]

[I see… ... Then why don't we take advantage and finish with the mass of flesh now that it's distracted? I'm sure it would be a great source of essence. ]

[{Sigh} Boy, for now just listen to me and after taking the elf runs without looking back]

Understanding that something was wrong given Abaddon's tone and words, Deimos sighed at the missed opportunity but decided to follow Abaddon's plan.

Ensuring that the first elf did not fall off his shoulder as soon as he started to run, Deimos sneaked up to the mass of meat and when he was close enough, he cast a lightning spell which surprised the mass of meat which after a few seconds he let go of the elf and some other part of other creatures.

[Now boy, take the elf and run]

Listening to Abaddon and having a bad feeling, Deimos began to run with both elves on his shoulders while behind him he could hear roars which rushed where the paralyzed mass of flesh was.

It was at that moment that Deimos realized that something had been stalking him all along.

Feeling his back covered with cold sweat and without looking back Deimos ran out of the battlefields and verifying that nothing had followed him beyond the fog, he fell to the ground while trying to stabilize his condition.

[Congratulations boy, you survived]

"What {huff huff} what was that?"

[For once I pay a compliment, anyway, those things were some beasts that reside in the vicinity of where I found you]

[How come there were so many?]

[Well, it's not like all this time you've been especially sneaky back there]

[... I can't say anything about that ... but how come you didn't warn me?]

[If I had warned you, you would have started to act cautiously and may provoke them, they just didn't attack you out of fear that others will take advantage of that]

Understanding that he was only alive by sheer luck, Deimos tried to calm his emotions and looking at the elf he had just rescued to distract his thoughts he began to examine.

Her hair was short like her brother's only with a darker hue and a slim but well-trained figure.

"{Sigh} at least she's alive, I guess I'd better treat her before she wakes up or bleeds out."

After that, Deimos approached and when examining his legs he could see how they were damaged to the point that he was surprised that they were still connected.

So using a little magic to cool the elf and applying some pressure to decrease the blood flow, he took one of the daggers that the maid brought with her and removed the insurmountable parts to close her wounds.

"That should be enough"

[Good job, that should prevent any infection and bleedings, have you done that before?]

Seeing that the elf was no longer in danger, Deimos separated a little and after sitting down to meditate and recover, he began to talk with Abaddon

[Something similar, almost a decade ago I participated with my father in a campaign where the orcs and humans fought

In that campaign my father decided to support humans, so it is not the first time that I have to deal with ripped meat, it is not that the weapons of the orcs usually make clean cuts]

Continuing like this for almost half an hour, Deimos continued to absorb essence from the air to supplement the one he had lost until the elf who seemed to be his older sister began to awaken.

"What ... What happened to me, where am I? {Ghaa} my .. my legs ..."

"I see you woke up, you shouldn't move much"

Hearing Deimos's voice, the elf looked in the direction where Deimos was and after realizing who she was she began to yell at him

"It's you, what did you do to Yin, what did you do to master Mir"

"Your master is dead"

"YOUR BAST-"

"But she is alive, at least for now."

Saying that and seeing the hostility of the elf, Deimos put the dagger that on the neck of the first elf, which served to calm her a bit

"You… Do what you want with me, but let my brother go"

"Don't worry, nothing will happen to her while you... wait, did you say, brother?"
