Chapter 110 - The Question

I felt his fingertips on my cheek as I slept sideways. A few strands of hair rested on my cheek, he stroked my cheek with his fingertips, pushing the strands back. I opened my eyes smiling. "Are we there?"

"We came," he said, smiling. "We need to get off the boat and find a place to spend the night." He hesitated. "Can you get up?" He stretched his arms over my body to pick me up, but I grabbed his hands and blocked him, and slowly stood up.

"I'm fine. I still have the strength to walk." I got up and jumped off the side of the boat into the harbor and marveled at the port town deserted by the night. There was no one outside, there was fog. It meant that the night that suddenly covered the sky had frightened them so much that no one cared who went in and out of town.
