They made him sit on a wooden chair as they sat opposite the creature to listen to what he had to say.
Phillip looked up at them, "The attack that happened some years back" he said and coughed out.
"Sorry" Adriana worriedly said.
The creature cleared his throat and nodded, "It was all my fault... I made it happen"
"What do you mean?" Tristan curiously asked.
Phillip smiled softly to him and looked away, "We are gifted with some power... and the only time we were supposed to use it was... never" he said and looked at their confused face. "The power is so powerful that we don't use it... at all, because there was no need to.."
"What.... what type of power", Tristan fearfully asked.
"You two remember the time I told you some ship damaged here"
The two humans nodded.
"I fell in love with a girl on it... I couldn't meet her because you know... I am not a human, she would freak out and probably would attract her people and they might attack us" Phillip said as the four interested eyes kept staring at him.
"I remembered our power and decided to use it..."
"What is the power?" Adriana asked
"Transforming into anything you want in a short time.." Phillip answered.
"How?"
Phillip looked around and saw an insect crawling away with its food, "I could transform this into a human being" he said.
Tristan and Adriana looked at each other in amazement.
"I have never heard a tale of... you know your creature doing that ever", Adriana exclaimed.
Phillip smiled to her, "Do not believe everything they tell you in a tale... most of it is not true", He replied.
Tristan thought about the tale of blue men of Minch and other mermaid tales, he looked at Phillip and then at Adriana. "Maybe the mermaid's tale is not true after all... I might just be having a different idea about Adriana" he thought.
"Every creature has its power..." Phillip said and looked at Adriana's blue ocean eyes, he smiled and looked away.
"I was blinded in love and did something stupid... I was stubborn and wanted to try the power so I can be human and I can be able to be with her for a short time till I return. I had it all planned" he exhaled in and out sharply.
"One of my brothers saw me, he was my favorite... he warned me not to but I insisted and told him I would be back before they know it.... that was the last time I saw him" he added.
"I was clueless on how to do it because I was young and I didn't want to meet with anyone, they wouldn't tell me because it is forbidden among us... I did it"
Adriana and Tristan looked at him intensely, waiting for what happens next.
"The power was too much and I did it wrong, instead of turning me into a human being, it threw me against a tree and I had passed out, a blue lightning was sent in the sky and... the Mungos, when I woke up... they were already killing my people, I hid and watched it all happened"
Tears rolled down his face as he gradually turned black.
Adriana sat next to him and calmly held his hand.
"I figured that was the reason... why we can't use our power... I caused it, they killed everyone including my brother, I killed them" he added.
Adriana held him closer to her and hugged him tightly, "It was not your fault".
He pulled away angrily, "what do you mean? It was my fault... I risked it and led them to us... I should have listened, maybe I wouldn't be lonely all these years, I lived with the blame and the sadness..." he looked down at his palms, "I would never use it again" he concluded.
"This Mungos of a creature... are they on this island right now?" Tristan asked as he chewed his fingers nervously.
"No one knows... the last time I saw them was that day, I think they are somewhere in this island waiting for another signal to attack, those bastards... this is not their island... it ours, they need to be killed, I mean why can't we use our powers... it's supposed to be useful that is why we own it" Phillip said, he immediately remembered the tragedy.
"But for now,.. I can't, none of us can handle those monsters. They are big and has sharp teeth... two-headed beasts".
Tristan hurried up and smiled nervously, "why are they still delaying? Do they think I am dead? Why are they not looking for me" he muttered and looked up at the sky "I cannot die in a nameless Island" he screamed out in his mind.
Adriana figured he was panicking, she shook his head and turned to Phillip.
"They won't come back okay? We are here for you".
A smile appeared on his face, "I... for a strange reason, I feel really good talking about it... I kept it in for years and it eat me up on the inside. I strangely feel relieved" he said.
Adriana nodded with a bright smile on her face.
They both looked up and saw how troubled the young man was.
"Relax Tristan, there would be no Mungos for now. As long as I don't use my power" Phillip assured.
Tristan chuckled nervously, he turned to them. "We killed a Jaguar, I never thought a day like this would come... it is... so choking and," he said and hurried to sit, "My family, they are in danger... those animals tried killing me so they can have my dad's property to themselves... how am I supposed to calm down after all that, my sister is young.. she hasn't gotten over mom, how would she get over me missing? She is stuck with them".
Phillip sighed softly, "You would find a way to get back to them... England is far to here but we would find a way".
"That doesn't require you using your power right?" Adriana asked.
"That doesn't require my power" he promised.

The Jaguar meat was still under the burning firewood, Tristan ate most of it and the remaining would be enough for the next day.
Adriana sat in front of the burning wood, she had no idea Tristan was standing behind her.
He tickled her neck with a stick, the girl flinched and hurried up, seeing Tristan laughing mockingly made her mad.
"What is wrong with you? I was trying to meditate here"
"In front of burning fire? Wow, I am so interested in this meditation" Tristan said.
"Sarcasm... okay" she rolled her eyes and closed them, "go away... I need my alone time"
Tristan smirked and looked at the fire, "You know... I wish I didn't lose my phone, I would have found my way of repairing it".
Adriana opened her eyes slowly, she looked at Tristan and folded her arms, "Thank you for ruining my meditation with your deep voice..." she said and looked away.
She let out a sigh and turned to him, "can you even repair a phone... aren't you the rich type of boy? Spoilt with money and had gotten so lazy because of it".
Tristan laughed out, he looked at her and shook his head "you don't know me..."
"Well I think it is obvious..." she said and folded her arms, "You are a spoilt rich kid, go out at night to drink with his girlfriend or girlfriends"
Tristan surprisingly looked at her, "is she trying to know if I have a girlfriend?..." he thought and smiled as he looked away.
"You know I am right", she concluded.
"What about you? Do you go out partying with your boyfriends?" He sarcastically asked.
She scoffed and gave him a weird look, "any boy caught with me would have been killed... my brother is mean, I am sure I told you that"
"So what? He doesn't allow you to hang out? I thought he is always busy like you said Tristan asked.
"Busy but always watching out for me... no one was allowed to have a crush on me... I hate being treated like a child when I am not".
"You are... kinda," Tristan Said and then saw her eyes on him, he quickly laughed it off.
After a short time of silence, she looked at him and caught his eyes on her.
"Have you had your first kiss?"
The question made him choke on his spit, he coughed hard and beat his chest softly. "Who ask that type of question in this awkward moment," he thought and looked away still coughing.
He thought about the kiss he had... Lily kissed him, Tristan didn't know if it was supposed to be counted as his first kiss or not.
"Are you thinking about it?" She asked and let out a gasp, "you can not remember your first kiss?".
He looked at her and held his stare, "why do I find it hard to stare at you for seconds..." he thought and looked away.
"Do you want to be my first kiss?" Tristan boldly asked.
