The rotten smell of a dead rat woke Nate up, he jumped up on seeing the rat right in his face.
"What is that?" he yelled out.
Nick chuckled as he held the dead rat by the tail, he moved closer to Nate. "I saw the little man dead in the room. I was trying to figure out where the smell came from" he said as he moved closer to Nate who looked terrified.
"Do not come near me bro. that stink mate"
"I honestly thought it was one of your stinky pants, let's be honest Nate, there is no difference between this smell and your pant," Nick said, wearing a maniac smile.
"Just stop coming nearer... stop," Nate said as he stood behind the cushion.
"What is that terrible smell? what the f**kkkk"
Nate and Nick recognized her voice immediately.
Nate dashed towards the door, he hurried out of the cottage.
Nick laughed out as he watched his friend run, "pussy" he muttered before stepping out the back door.
"Kids", Mitchell shook her head as she stepped in
After a short while, Nate peeped in. Looked around carefully to make sure Nick had gone out with the dead animal.
"He threw it out already" Mitchell who had noticed said, she sat down and crossed her legs. "You two come sit, I have useful information about Tristan".
Nate finally entered, he could still smell the rat. The guy covered his nose with his palm as he sit gently next to Mitchell.
Nick got back looking confused, he stared at Mitchell and pointed at the back door, "why is there a girl at the back of the cottage" he asked.
"A girl?" Nate repeated.
Mitchell folded her arms as the boys stared at her for a response.
"I figured it would be a mess in here and I wasn't disappointed... I asked her to stay out" she replied.
She stood up and walked towards the back door.
"She is a friend of Tristan" she added before walking out to get the girl.
The two men waited patiently as she returned with the girl who looked very much like a guy.
She wore a guy shirt and a short, her haircut was low and colored.
"she looks like trouble" Nate whispered to Nick.
The two men stood up.
"This is Fiona", Mitchell introduced before returning to sit. "Fiona... they are also Tristan friends, closer friends... you are free to tell them everything you told me " she added.
The girl looked up at the two grown tall men standing in front of her, she let out a sigh and walked past them.
Nick and Nate looked at her as she sit without fear.
"She is not scared of us?" Nate whispered.
"well maybe that is a good thing", Nick responded.
"will you two come to sit or not?" Mitchell called out.
They returned to sit as they wouldn't stop staring at the young girl who seem comfortable.
Fiona noticed their gaze at her, she ignored them and looked around.
"Nice house", she complimented.
Nick and Nate looked around to be certain she was referring to their scary room, filled with matches and Bow, a deer head hung on the wall, and knives of different sizes kept on the table.
"you say what?", Nate asked.
Nick smiled and stood up, "you know... I have a dead mountain lion right in this room and I don't think it is dead...." he bragged, waiting for the girl's reaction.
The girl stood up, looking around, "where?...i want to see".
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" Nick laughed out, impressed at the fearless girl, "impressive... well let's talk instead".
"is there a lifeless lion here?" Nate asked fearfully.
Nick shook his head in disappointment.
"I met Tristan first while we were young and I know you guys don't need this information. I am just trying to tell you how long I have known him, he is a real person and he doesn't deserve what happened to him" Fiona sadly said.
"She was also there at the cruise..." Mitchell added.
"Really?", Nick asked as he moved forward, "when last did you see him, what was he doing? where was he?" he asked curiously.
Fiona remembered seeing him a night before he got missing, she saw him from afar while she was with her own family.
"I saw him... we had a conversation a day before he got missing. he hated the ocean and wanted to return home" she said and looked up at the people staring at her, "He wouldn't have survived if he fell in the water".
"but they have searched everywhere no sign of his body... what could have happened", Nate confusedly muttered.
"Tell them who you said was suspicious", Mitchell said, looking at the girl.
Nick and Nate stared at the girl for a response.
"who?" Nick and Nate eagerly asked.
"His brother... James, I think he knows something about Tristan going missing, I don't know but I feel something strange happening" Fiona answered.
Nick stood up, "I knew that ugly mother f****r was up to no good," he said out of anger as he hurried to the table and looked through the knives.
He finally found his favorite dagger and grabbed it, walking out of the cottage angrily.
"Nick, where are you going? you can't just go meet him this way... we are not even sure he did anything yet... Nick!" Mitchell called out but it was too late, the angry man had left the cottage.
Nate hurried up and grabbed his jacket, "I will stop him", he said as he dashed out of the cottage.
Mitchell let out a deep sigh, she turned to Fiona who seemed unbothered.
The girl stood up and walked towards the table filled with knives.
"wow... cool", she said excitedly as she picked up a long knife.
"easy with that", Mitchell warned.
Fiona gently put it down, she turned to Mitchell and asked, "What do you think he would do to James when he meets him?".
Mitchell shook her head slowly, "I do not know but it won't be fun".
