WELL, I THOUGHT KISSING A GUY WAS HIS FATHER'S SUPERPOWERS.
Until little by little, the pain is leaving my lips. It becomes wetter, but not stickier because of the blood. Probably, because I'm feeling some tongue action there.
It was an amazing kiss, as every brush of his lips feels so wonderful. It's as if the softness of his lips were lifting me to the clouds.
Fei stepped back and smiled. "That's my dad's power. Healing. No pain on your lips, right? Or can I check again, please?"
I chuckled. "You just wanna kiss me again, don't you?"
"I think I'm going to be addicted to it, so get ready," Fei winked.
"Stop getting used to it, okay?" I said, then I thought of something about it earlier. "So, if your dad's power is healing, whose power is the one that I sort of mimic what you did with your lips?"
"That's Gramms," Fei grinned. "It's like some sort of pain reflection. I can only do it when the one I'm inflicting pain with is looking at me, eye to eye. Gramms can do it whether the one to be inflicted with pain is not in front of her. Also, it's just one of her powers."
"That's super cool! How is it like in your house? Do you even use your powers at each other?" I wondered.
Fei's fingers clicked. As of the moment, we were sitting on a cozy gray sofa, and right in front of me are two-story-high shelves of books. Are we in a city library?
Before I even open my mouth to ask Fei, someone emerged in the room.
"Oh, Fei, you're here. And you're with… Trick. Trick, right? You were at Gramms' birthday party last night."
It was Haru, the cute cousin of Fei.
"Haru…" Fei called him and Haru threw a glance. Fei smirked, and Haru frowned, as if he already knew what's gonna happen.
All of a sudden, several books loosely moved out of the shelf. They surrounded Haru and when they opened, the pages turned into weapons that were as sharp as arrows and attacked Haru. It was Fei's magic that made it like that, I believe.
Haru's face remained frowning, with the arrow-like pages turned into colorful paper cranes that were flying behind him, as if they became his loyal army.
"That's odd," Fei whispered. "Hmm… Where is that book?"
Fei rummaged the shelf with his eyes and took a book out by just doing finger signals. Then, he waved his hand and suddenly, large dinosaurs stampeded out of the book. He looked at me and whispered, "Michael Crichton."
I may have not been an avid reader of books, but I can tell that he got "Jurassic Park" from the shelves.
With the army of paper cranes, Haru signaled his hand to attack the dinosaurs. The paper cranes became explosives as they blow up the dinosaurs one by one. It's not just a simple detonation. It emitted colorful smokes, as if there were color bombs everywhere. It was a joy to watch the battle between these two groups of fictional creatures.
"Bored, are you, Fei?" Haru asked.
"It's almost noon. I feel sleepy," Fei yawned, then he manipulated the colorful smokes to create a rainbow tornado approaching Haru.
Haru then clenched his fist and a massive cocktail coupe materialized as it caught the rainbow tornado, which was getting smaller and smaller, until the liquid turns red. He then clicked his hand and suddenly the glass was embellished with a cherry on top and a slice of orange at the corner.
"Cosmopolitan, Trick?" Haru offered, as he approached me.
I was startled. So, going back… The magic that happened came from pages of books, that turned into arrows, then became paper cranes, then dinosaurs, then color bombs, then a rainbow tornado, and now a cosmopolitan, so… Am I going to drink a drink made of paper?
"Why, thank you," I received the drink out of respect, which evaporated in a blink of an eye. Fei did the trick.
Haru demonstrated a poker face. "Why are you here? Should you be attending to your teams in the office?"
"Come on, Haru. I'm only 22. Can I have a little fun? I've been doing that for two years. I need a break," Fei whined.
What? He's only 22 years old and he's already the CMO of a company? I'm currently 21 and I only have 12,000 dollars in my savings account. To top it all, he's been that for two years. Two years ago, I was helping Rhapsody and Savannah stitch some broken costumes for the runway.
This family must be really super intelligent. Well, sorcery-wise, they really are. I can't even believe the things that I saw earlier. It was totally fantastic!
"So, you just go here and did this because you're bored?" Haru pointed at the mess in the library.
Fei yawned again. "Fine. I'm gonna fix it." At the wave of Fei's hands, it's as if nothing happened in this room. Everything was fixed in an instant.
"Trick, can you imagine being with a guy like this? Do you want someone like him to be your boyfriend?" Haru even ignited the flame between him and Fei.
I saw Fei's face became exasperated, so I answered right away with a question. "How can you say so, that I… I want him to be… To be my boyfriend?"
"Well, he hasn't brought anyone here in the mansion, so I suppose you're someone special to him," Haru stated.
My eyes dilated. We were in the Xing Mansion? Oh, my goodness.
"I, ah…" I became speechless, to be honest. Being in their house and hearing what Haru said.
Fei never brought a guy over. It means that… I am the first one. Oh, gosh.
"We're taking things slow, Haru," Fei replied to Haru, which Haru sort of ignored.
"It's nice to see you, Trick, and I'm happy that you set foot in the Xing Mansion. I guess I'll be seeing more of you, then," Haru said as he grabbed my hand and sort of caressed it using his thumb.
Fei, without a doubt, pinched Haru's hand which made him wail like a child. "Get off of him. The last time I checked, you're straight."
"Well, I don't know now, dear cousin. I may be straight. I may be not. I may like Trick. I may—" Haru became inaudible the moment Fei clicked his fingers. I can see his mouth moving but I cannot hear anything.
"Ignore him, Trick. He's just teasing you. He's straight. He's been with a lot of girls in the past, so don't believe him," Fei seriously uttered, as if he just warned me of a catastrophe yet to happen.
"Oh… Okay. Got it," I spoke.
"…May be not… Hey! You muted me!" Haru yelled. Due to his annoyance, he was about to attack Fei, but both of them froze, literally, as if Elsa made an appearance.
"These two, they're really like this every day," a female voice emerged in the library.
When I looked at the door, a gorgeous lady walks towards us. "Hi, dear. I'm Jia. Fei's younger sister. Nice to meet you."
I extended my hand for a handshake. "Hello, Jia. How do you do?"
"I'm good. See these two? They're like Tom and Jerry, Dumb and Dumber, whatever you wanna call it. But they're really close. Sometimes, I feel like they're the brothers, and I'm the female cousin," Jia clicked her fingers and the ice evaporated. The two of them became so wet. Surprisingly, I'm sitting beside Fei and I never felt a single drop. Perhaps, Jia's superpowers.
"Jia! That's so cold!" Haru shouted as he was quivering.
Fei scoffed. "The cold never bothered me any… No, Jia! Stop!" He shouted as the ice is slowly enveloping his lower body. Haru, Jia, and I laughed, as Fei's lower trunk gets frozen.
"How about a tour in the mansion, Trick?" Jia invited me.
"Oh, thank you so much!" That was so kind of Jia.
"Let's go?" Haru said, as he offered his hand.
"Hey! I should be the one doing that! Jia, take this off right now!" Fei howled.
All of us laughed again. I don't know why but these people are beginning to grow on me. Especially Fei, who has been very much open about himself in the last couple of hours we've been together.
I stood up and sort of teased him. "I'll see you later?"
"No! Trick, don't go with the devils. Don't leave me, please! Jia, I'm gonna hurt you so bad! Damn it!" Fei growled.
"Language," said someone from not too far where we were.
All of a sudden, Haru and Jia's necks slowly turned to face this person. Jia removed the ice from Fei's lower trunk quickly. Fei stood up and seriously looked towards this being. At the back of my mind, I got so confused why they reacted this way.
[Who is this old lady?]
