Asd didn't know how long he was out, but the moment he felt someone prodding him, he woke up. Everywhere hurt, much like vampires, Weres could heal from almost anything given enough time and quite rapidly too. But these healings required a resource; stamina, mana, life force, blood etc. such resource were finite and you could theoretically hurt them enough and constantly until they ran out of it, but that was just in theory and it could hardly be proved. But it was actually true, which would explain why Asd felt so sore. Everything in his body hurt, and he could feel the coppery taste of blood in his mouth, and his lips were busted open from when he had bitten down on it during the crash, thankfully it wasn't his tongue as that would have been a whole lot more uncomfortable than this.
"Get up Asd, we can't stay here." Professor Mona's voice cut through the gloom and haze from waking up as Asd full opened his eyes. He scrambled back, chocking and a terrified yell as he came face to face with the lifeless gaze of a dwarf. It only took him five more seconds of trying to calm himself down that he noticed those eyes belonged to Boris.
He sighed as a sinking feeling settled at the pit of his stomach. He looked around to notice that a massive boulder had situated itself right in the middle of the half of the airship they found themselves in, and that bolder was right on top of Boris. His formerly black eyes were now a dull grey, the light that used to suffuse them was nowhere to be seen, all Asd could glean was the cold grasp of darkness and death.
"I'm sorry…. But there was nothing I could do about this." Professor Mana said to him as he finally got his feet under himself.
Asd knew better, but he was much too tired to pay attention to her bullshit. He noticed Hansel and Gretel standing behind her, apart from a rather nasty cut on Hansel's arm, both satyrs seemed unhurt. Asd shifted his gaze to his environment, apart from the very smashed apart airship, the only thing he could see were rocks and rocks and more rocks. As far as his eye could see, and each of them were massive in scope and size.
The smell of death in the air made Asd extremely wary, it sorts of gave the entire place a spooky and haunting ambience. It wasn't one that Asd was actually comfortable with, but like everything else in his life there really wasn't much he could do about it. Asd looked up and noticed a blanket of dark clouds above their heads, it was as if the storm they had experienced had gone above them, but when he looked closer, turning his head to look in the direction they had crashed from, the only thing he could see was a colossal wall of swirling black storm clouds and floating masses of lands that seemed to orbit within the confines of the storm.
"Where the heck are we?" Asd asked, so confused by what he was seeing as he turned his head to look at Professor Mona.
"I'm not so sure Asd, I have a theory and a suspicion. But I hope I'm wrong, because if it's true it means we're probably never getting out of here… not without help at least. But this is not the sort of place we can have any sort of discussion, lets find somewhere safe, then we can come back and try to scavenge from the ship' for now grab what we need and let's get out of here."
Asd grunted in reply as he began to move around trying to salvage what they could from the ship. It was barely standing, but whether by a miracle of some sort, the pantry of the airship was untouched by the storm, along with a few cabins where Asd was able to find a couple of Mana rifles and a simple Machete. He found Boris's tool belt hanging on the splintered remains of the mast, and then grabbed a new set of clothes, something that up until now he has not been able to take care of. Thankfully his and Mona's cabins survived, so he could go grab whatever was left of his tuition money, though considering the unknown location, Asd didn't think they would find use for it, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
He made his way out of the wreckage, doing his best to ignore the lifeless stare of Boris as the Dwarf's grey eyes seemed to stare into nothingness, seeing that which mere mortal eyes would never be able to gleam or comprehend, death… and it was a path of no return. Asd swiftly turned his head away chocking back a sob, sure he has had a hard enough life and experienced loss and have been screwed over more times than one in his life. But he was still seventeen, and Werelion or not, the amount of death around him seemed to have taken its toll.
With every step he took away from the wrecked ship he could feel his body shiver as the numerous deaths, right from the assaults of the Bug-bears to the wreck from the storm. It was almost as if nature itself was trying it's very possible best to have them or himself killed. This was just a natural conflict, Bug-bears were a variation of goblins, much like Hob-goblins. They were monsters, so even if they had a modicum of intelligence with many goblins actually being functional members of society, an attack from the lesser, less smart counterparts and cousins is considered an accident.
And animal attack of sorts that had nothing but the hand of fate in it. But it was still conflict, and after they tried to fight a storm and failed miserably, the idea of conflict was no longer as glorified as it once was to Asd. To fight, to battle, to wage war… the end results have always only been death. And now that he could see the amount of death nature and her 'Accidents' could cause, it made him scared for what could possibly happen to him if he ever gets out of here. He wasn't stupid, and perhaps the wreck had made him paranoid and he was trying to think about other things in order to take his kind off the traumatic experience he just went through. But the bottom line there was conflict in his future, death and perhaps a lot of it. And now that he has come face to face with it…. He wasn't so sure he wanted a part of such a life, he wanted to live, and he wanted to do it without having blood on his hands.
But just as he conjectured, Asd was not stupid. He knew just how the world of Boria worked, he knew how extremely fucked up it was and that there was no going back in the path that he had chosen. Death would be a constant companion to him… this was just the beginning…. There was more coming, so much more.
