After these past few months, both Elihim and Ellie had their birthdays. Elihim turning eight and Ellie turning seven.
With Elihim around, the Enova Family didn't have any problem with the heat. He can easily control any element and thus, he can make shaved ice with milk and became their personal air conditioner. Elihim found out that his parents were becoming too lax because of his powers so he became stern and sometimes, he would only let Ellie enjoy the cooling.
When the night came and the heat was significantly reduced, Merim finally came back to tell a piece of news.
"Why would they camp around here?"
Elihim asked while a cool wind was turning within the now spacious cave. This led the napping Ellie who used his thigh as a pillow to be comfortable even though its night already.
'Isn't he spoiling her too much?' Merim thought but didn't dare show any expression that he was thinking of that.
After these past months of close contact and interactions, Merim found out that although Elihim holds his parents dear even though he was trying to hide it, Ellie is just being treated on another level.
It was as if Elihim would do anything for Ellie, Merim thought.
He soon dismissed this thought and answered Elihim's question.
"I have no idea what the principal is thinking. However, if I have to make a guess, this should still concern what happened eight years ago."
"Eight years ago?"
Merim then explained about the meteor that an Academy Elite back then spotted and felt great power from it. Thinking it was kind of a rare resource, Merim was sent out to scout to find nothing.
"I think that's... you?" Merim guessed. Elihim covered Ellie's ear and frowned.
"So that's how I arrived in this world..."
Seeing that Elihim was not much bothered nor fascinated by the fact that he was birthed by the cosmos, Merim was reminded that this youngster is actually an old demon.
"If that's true, then your principal wants his students to encounter it. Why not search it himself?"
Elihim asked but soon found the answer to his question after a few thoughts. However, he didn't stop Merim from explaining.
"It's because although being an Imagi is wondrous, we are not all-powerful beings. Depending on our specialties, we can defeat a beast but that doesn't mean we can do other things as well. As for I, an Earth Imagi, I can only use the earth as another sense, create it, manipulate it, and so on. At the same time, that's all I can do."
Elihim nodded and asked.
"So what's the affinity of this principal?"
Merim's forehead creased but soon, Elihim shook his head.
"I have no intention of fighting him, I'm just curious."
"His affinity is both with wind and blades. The principal is also famed as the Breath of the Blade. Principal Hilbert's name is renowned in the whole of West Green. Although I think that you're strong, against someone like the principal, I have to say that you're far from him." Merim straightforwardly said and there was pride lingering behind his voice.
"Didn't I just say that I'm curious?" Elihim removed his hand from Ellie's ear.
Merim's confident look turned back to being humble after receiving Elihim's cold comeback.
"Tell me the spot where they will camp." Elihim added which Merim pointed at the area that Elihim was found by Heron back then.
"So that's why you think that it's because of the meteor..." he whispered.
Merim nodded and after that, he came back. That place and Hramm City quite had some distance of about tens of kilometers. However, Merim was frequently coming there.
When Ellie woke up from her nap, Elihim asked her.
"Ellie, you want to be a strong Imagi, right?"
"Umu!" Ellie enthusiastically nodded as she expected something from Elihim.
"Then, tomorrow, stay at Mom and Dad's since I will prepare something for you."
Ellie frowned after hearing that she will be separated. But since it's her big brother's order, she agreed.
Elihim prepared dinner, then they ate, and went to bed. They were quite inseparable. Elihim doesn't deny that he likes this, however, this is a problem for his future plans. Of course, he still plans to live by himself in an attempt to move out and live on his own as that is his ideal concept of resting. Just sleeping whenever he wants, eating whatever he wants, and having the total freedom to do whatever he wants.
But if by then, Ellie was still too dependable on him, he will have a great problem. Forcefully leaving her and making Ellie cry, Elihim didn't think of that.
So that's why for tomorrow, he will look into the Emeralkan Students and see how they treat him. If these people are trash, he will not let Ellie interact with them. However, if he saw some promise, he would be contented.
Furthermore, Elihim was sure that once Ellie enters puberty, she will separate herself from her. For that, he wants her to have a place when that happens. Tears almost came out of his eyes, thinking that day would be a sad moment.
He couldn't help but think that he looks at Ellie as a daughter instead of a little sister instead.
Morning came and the Emeralkan Students that's just numbered past half of a hundred settled in near their town.
The town mayor wanted to greet them but with just a stare from one of the students, he backed out.
"Once afternoon arrives, your one-week hunting will start."
Merim, the youngest of the Academy Elite, acted as the guide for the fifty students in front of him. If he didn't reach the Creation Stage years earlier, he shouldn't be talking there at the front, but instead, listening here together with other Spirit Stage Imagis.
But even though some of these people were his former classmates and even some much older than him, he was respected and heard.
'I wonder what Elihim will do?' he thought.
