"But what is the difference?" Quinn asked Vincent.
"If you arrive just like that today before I tell mother and grandmother then questions will arise. So I will be going to tell them later that my bride will be arriving tomorrow, and we will have the wedding on that day."
"You have everything thought through. It seems that you are very intelligent, are all demons like that?" She asked as she walked to the chair in front of the table and sat down.
He smiled as she removed her shoes too. "It depends just like how human intelligence depends on the person and their parents genes."
"Okay, but if I'm to sleep here, where do I sleep since there is only one bed?" She asked glancing at the bed then at him.
"On the bed, it is large enough to hold four people. We will be married by tomorrow and I'm sure we can keep our distance on the bed."
"But today, we are still unmarried. How can a strange man and a woman sleep on the same bed…" She trailed off glancing at the bed again as her tone became wary.
"I can control myself, but I don't know if you are having trouble controlling yourself around me." He teased as he watched her blush.
"What? Controlling myself around you?"
"Calm down, Quinn. I was only teasing you, but you have nothing to worry about. I have a lot of self control and won't come near you when we sleep on the bed." He smiled showing his slightly pointed teeth again.
She sighed as her blush resided, "Alright, I believe you."
He stood up from the bed and walked to the wardrobe. Opening it, he picked out a red robe that was designed with golden threads. He faced her, "I would have a bath before Cesar comes back with food and your change of clothes. Feel free to move to the bed, you need to stay on a soft surface after sleeping on the ground."
"Alright." She stood up from the chair and walked to the bed. Removing her bag of books from around her shoulders, she kept it at the foot of the bed then walked to the side. She laid down on it as he turned to go into the bathroom with the robe and some garment that she didn't see in his hands.
Quinn felt her tiredness weigh down on her after laying down on the soft bed. She didn't know when she slept off, but when she opened her eyes again, she saw that no one was in the room with her. Sitting up, she looked at the window and saw the sun was still up, but going down. It seemed that it was late afternoon.
She noticed a dress on the bed beside her. She picked it up and studied it. The dress was a beatiful peach color with long sleeves. Looking around the room, she saw food on the table. She stood up from the bed and made her to the table.
A foreign food container sitting on a tray on the table with two plates, utensils, cups and a jug. She lifted up the cover of the food container and saw a diced potato dish decorated with herbs. It smelt heavenly and she felt her stomach rumble, but she knew that she had to bathe first.
She placed the cover back down on the container and walked back to the bed. Picking up the dress, she made her way to the bathroom. She wanted to bathe and wash off the sweat of the journey.
After she finished bathing, she walked out of the bathroom in the dress and made her way to the large mirror beside the farther window that she didn't notice until after she woke up. She had braided her dark brown hair into one braid in the bathroom, and it looked nice. She studied the dress and saw how it looked good on her.
As she was walking back to the table where the food was, the door opened and Vincent came in. He was dressed in the red robe he picked out, it looked tunning on him. His hair was tied up with his crown on top of it. He closed the door and walked to her as she stopped at the table. "You look beautiful, the dress fits you."
"Thank you, you look stunning as well." He smiled as he stopped at table, standing opposite her.
"You are about to eat? I have not eaten as well. Let us eat together." He sat down on the chair he was standing behind, and she did the same.
"Okay. You went to talk to your mother and grandmother?" She asked as she opened the food container, picked up a spoon and served the food on both of their plates. She passed one to his front as he watched her.
"Yes, and they were happy to hear it since I have been searching for my mate for hundreds of years. However, they were also surprised that it is so sudden and they wanted to meet your family first, but I explained how you are from a far country and I want to marry you without any delay." He said as he picked up his spoon and started eating.
She picked up her spoon and was about to start eating, but stopped as she realized what he said. She looked up at him, "Mate? Do you mean I am your soul mate like vampires and werewolves have soul mates?"
He swallowed his meal, "Yes."
"But how? Is it because of the magic of the magic blue stone? Is that why you said that you knew about me before I called for your help and why you need me to break your curse?" She asked intrigued, her meal forgotten.
"Eat first, Quinn. I will explain everything after you have eaten. It has been almost a day since you ate a meal." He said with concern evident on his face and tone of voice.
"Okay, I expect a detailed explanation once we are done." She gripped her spoon and started eating making Vincent smile at her as he also continued eating.
