The exam day finally arrived.
They all went to the classroom where Professor Hawkeye was waiting for them with question papers.
The exam went on for an hour and a half after which the students of Class A came out happily.
They all were sure that they were going to pass this time.
The students of the other classes didn't know why they looked so happy.
However they didn't want to waste their time thinking about them.
The students were now heading back to the dormitory when Simon suddenly mentioned, "Ah, today's written test was good. Even though I haven't got that good marks, I am sure that I am not going to fail this time. I wonder how tomorrow's practical test will be."
"Yes, today's written test was indeed easy. This is the first time I felt that a written test was good. Thank you Emily and Ava," Kayden thanked the girls for their help.
The girls were also happy that they were able to help him.
"I think the practical test will be good too," Kayden added.
They then headed to the dormitory. Kayden went to his room and took a refreshing bath. He sat down on the sofa thinking something.
"It's been so long since I entered the dreamland. It's been long since I met Hannah too. I wonder how she is doing. I kind of feel like I'm missing something. Whatever. Hannah has always been by my side and she's been a good friend. We have had fun times and she has taught me a lot of things. She has always been with me to hear my problems and support me. I kind of miss her. I just hope she returns soon," he said.
And then he suddenly heard something.
"Oh really? I am glad that you feel that way about me," said a voice.
He was confused. Who was that person who spoke to him just now?
It couldn't be Hannah since she can only talk to him after he enters the dreamland.
But this voice really seemed like hers.
Was his mind playing tricks with him? Is it because he missed Hannah?
"Aww, you don't need to think so much. Let me clarify it for you. It's really me. It's me Hannah," she said.
"If it is really you, then why can we talk when I am not in the dreamland," he asked.
"That's because of the upgrade," she replied.
"Is it really you?" he asked again.
"Yes. It's really me," she shouted.
"Oww. Why are you shouting so loudly? Talk slowly, others might hear you," he said to her.
"No need to worry. Only you can hear me," she replied.
"Huff. That's good. Now tell me what new features do you have after this upgrade?" he asked.
"Well, I can talk to you during daytime without needing to summon you to the dreamland and I can always give you live updates of news and I can help you make strategies during fights," she replied.
"And?" he asked.
"That's all," she replied.
"What? You took so long for the upgrade and then you say, that's all. What do you think I am? Do I look like a joker to you?" he asked.
When she heard what he said she was overwhelmed with sadness.
She had just made a friend and now even he blamed her. Was it really her mistake?
Yes, that must be it, she thought. Tears began to flow from her eyes.
"Wait, are you crying? Did I say something wrong? Hey Hannah, please don't cry, ok?" he tried to comfort her.
"No it must be like what you said. I am really the one who has made the mistake. Please forgive me. I swear I'll be obedient to you," she cried.
He couldn't stop it even if he tried. So he laid on his bed and fell asleep.
Soon his subconscious entered the dreamland. Hannah was still crying and blaming herself for the problems.
Throughout the history, she had seen many masters who had desired her power but Kayden was the only one who had thought of her as a friend.
And now she couldn't fulfil his desires.
She was really a jinx. Kayden would hate her forever. That is what she thought. But the result wasn't so.
Kayden who entered the dreamland held her face and wiped her tears off. Hannah looked at him who had come to comfort her.
"Look at me, listen properly. You haven't made any mistake, ok? I shouted at you just because I was irritated a bit. Now, please don't cry. I can't bear to see you cry. You have been my friend since months. How can I be angry with you? Now, now, don't cry," he said as he tried to comfort her.
He hugged her and tried to comfort her. After a long time of comforting she finally stopped crying.
"Now listen, I don't want to see you cry again. And remember, no matter what happens, I am always going to be your best friend, ok," he said.
Now she had a slight smile on her face. She was just like a normal girl.
She had feelings too and after crying for a long time, she would feel tired and fall asleep too. And that is exactly what happened.
She was tired after a lot of crying and thus she fell asleep. Kayden stayed beside her and watched her.
While watching her, he almost couldn't believe that she was just a guide in his quirk.
Or maybe she really existed. He thought. Whatever.
If she really existed, then he was going to find her at any cost.
After a while Hannah woke up only to find herself fallen asleep on Kayden's lap.
She saw that Kayden had fallen asleep while patting her head.
A smile bloomed on her face.
But then she remembered that she was only a guide and that after her mission had been completed she would have to leave.
She wished to be able to live with him forever. She hoped to find herself as a real living being who could stay by his side forever.
