Chapter 30 - 30 Finding Cremorgon

"Hello! Do you know someone named Cremorgon living around the town?" He asked the lady who was selling some fruits on the street.

"Oh! I've been in this town for 10 years and I haven't heard of someone named Cremorgon living here!" The lady helplessly replied.

"I see. Thank you and could I buy a dozen Spherries?" He asked as the lady gave his order and he left the shop, hoping that he could find Cremorgon as soon as possible.

At the other end of the town, Arie was asking around the residential area to find Cremorgon. He already spent hours to find it but to no avail, he still hasn't found a single clue about it.

He went to an old dilapidated house to ask, then an old man left the house, so he didn't waste the opportunity and asked him.

"Good day, sir! Can I ask if you know someone named Cremorgon?" Arie asked and the old man placed his hand below his chin as if he was trying to remember something.

"Oh! If I remember correctly, Cremorgon is a legend that was told when I was still a kid, though the kids nowadays know nothing about the legend." The old man replied as he sat on a chair placed outside his house and gestured for the young man to sit in the chair in front of him.

"Can I hear anything about this legend?" Arie asked as he called his brother and waited for the old man to tell the story.

Back on the commercial street where Urie was currently asking about Cremorgon, when he heard a ringing sound inside his head and an interface appeared in front of him with Arie's contact details.

"He probably found something about Cremorgon!" He thought as he answered the call and asked, "Hello? Did you already find out anything about Cremorgon?"

He has received no replies, but instead, he heard a voice of an old man at the other side saying, "When I was a child, my mother always told me about the story of the hidden guardian of this town, its name was Cremorgon."

"Guess he found someone who knows about it!" He thought and continued to listen to the story of the old man on the other side of the line.

Cremorgon was a Flame Guardian who was born from the Flame Origin Energy, the same as those beasts who have Fire Class.

It swore that it will guard the Flame Origin Energy with its whole life as it dug deep beneath the earth and kept the origin energy in a chamber it made just for it.

A large earthquake hit the chamber as it hit the Flame Origin Energy and a fragment of it was taken out from the chamber through the crevices on the ground and a volcano was born from it, which was currently known as the Black Volcano.

The earliest civilization of the Obsidium Town was in trouble when another earthquake appeared that caused the Black Volcano to explode to another eruption, but a crystal was shot out of the volcano before the lava did and it landed exactly inside the town.

It protected the people of the town from the surge of burning fluid that covered the entire town.

The town was covered in the glowing red liquid as a storm hit the town a few minutes after; the lava subsided as it instantly cooled down the remains of the lava that formed the current black town made of obsidian.

The original structure was kept and was reinforced by the solid obsidian, which helped it preserve the original look of the town except for the old man's house.

It was protected by the house beside his, which was towering high as the lava splashed on it and helped the house avoid the fiery disaster.

The old man's house was the only house who still had the original structure before the Shiny Black Phenomenon happened, the name of the event that covered the entire town with obsidian.

When the calamity ended, the ancestors of the current Obsidium Town made an altar for the crystal to rest and prevent the volcano from erupting once again.

"It was said that Cremorgon could still feel the energy contained from the Embers of Life and decided to not pursue it and let it rest above ground while he kept guarding the large part of the Flame Origin Energy. That's the end of the legend of Cremorgon and the story behind the look of the town." The old man finished the story.

"Does your mother tell you anything about the way to reach Cremorgon?" Arie asked the old man, who placed his hand beneath his chin once again to think.

"If I remember correctly, she said that beneath the ground, there are a series of tunnels that could be found. It was caused by the first and second earthquakes where the Embers of Life passed through. If you can find the right passage, there's a big chance that you can find Cremorgon!" The old man informed him and Urie, who were listening on the other side of the line.

"I see! Thank you for telling us what you know!" Arie stood up and bowed to the old man in respect as he thanked him.

"No! Thank you for spending time with me! I haven't encountered youngsters like you who were interested in the town's origin!" The old man smiled at him as he bade Arie farewell.

The two communicated on the call for their meeting place as they were about to discuss how to find Cremorgon.

A few minutes passed when they reached the center of the town where a plaza was located.

"So, how could we find that passage?" Arie started, which made Urie recall the old man's story.

"If the story was true, then there's a big possibility that we could find the entrance to these tunnels beneath a mountain or at the edge of a fault." Urie informed his little brother.

"I think that the significant mountain around the town was the Black Volcano, it seems that we didn't find any way deep beneath the ground other than the chamber where we took the crystal from!" Arie said his thoughts out loud.
