Chereads / In The Woods With Fabian / Chapter 12 - Beauty

Chapter 12 - Beauty

The princess's red hair shimmered and shined in the light of the sunset, she had opened an envelope that contained a vanilla-colored paper with the most beautiful words in the world that made her stomach feel some way.

"My Dearest Calista,

I came up with a clever love poem just for you I hope you enjoy it my dearest and loveliest. Please tell me if it is to your liking and your humble sever will write a million and one poems like these just for you.

There is a place of peace

There is a place of joy

A place away from loneliness

A place away from pain

That place is next to you

A secret garden

Where black and white becomes a colorful place

Of loving, kisses, touching, caressing,

Therewith you and only you

Cares of the world melting away

Anger and fear are not allowed

Prejudice cannot enter

A place where two hearts beat as one

A place next to you

, with love in care Fabian."

She held the letter close to her heart feeling the scent of her beloved, she gently placed the letter in a tinny wooden box that would only be used to place letters she received from him. she heard a knock on her door.

"May I come in?" an old voice said.

"Come in Grandfather!" she said quickly hiding the box.

"I just came by to say good night my small beauty. I hope you have packed all of your belongings."

"Yes grandfather, I am completely ready to move campsite."

"Perfect, I love you very much Calista."

"I love you too Grandfather."

"King Montgomery!" said a young voice Calista knew all too well."

"Fabian it's 1 in the morning I believed only me and Calista were awake?"

"Oh no I just have.... insomnia so it is hard for me to sleep."

"What are you doing roaming the halls this late?"

" I was just...." Calista signaled 'Looking for an ingredient we need for next class. "I was just looking for an ingredient we may need for the next class."

"Are you sure you weren't coming into Calista's room?"

"Yes sir I would never dare come in her Majesties room"

"Very well good night Fabian," he said giving pats in the ack with a chuckle.

"Good night King Montgomery and good night princess," said fabian offering her a slight smile that made her stomach fill up with butterflies.

"Good night Fabian" she gave a small wave.

"Ahhhh he is such a good a good kid."

"Mhm, he is very nice."

"Good night Calista, love you"

"Love you too"

as he closed the door she jumped into her bed, which had been such a close call. fabian usually gave her these visits but today was unexpected. She was going to warn him next time because if her grandfather ever discovered she was with the professor's apprentice her whole family would be so disappointed. As she shut her eyes his image was in her head.

Thousand of years had gone since the occurrence and that had only happened a month before Fabian's death caused by his father figure "s betrayal.

"I want that table to be over there, that blue looks great, we need the turkey to be much bigger" Alondra was preparing for the spring festival, she was he5r big brother's little helper so she gave out many of the banquets. Her favorite wads this one that had begun as a tradition thousands of years ago in Honor of a queen that all of her reign the harvesting was very prosperous because of her wise decisions.

"Duchess!"

"Fabian!"

"How's is the banquet going?"

"It is well"

"What is this for anyway?"

"It is like a way to wish for the best in spring harvest, I would love to explain it to you but I don't have time, come to the play we are doing next week at the banquet"

"a play?"

"Mhm! Creed is in it as well! It is like something the kids of the castle do every year"

They both said their goodbyes and went their way. Alondra was headed to take some kids to get their measurements for their costumes and Fabian was headed to some unsolved business.

On her way there she felt the gentle hands covering her eyes.

"Guess who?"

"No one else does this to me so I'm guessing...Cassandra?"

"Ding ding ding! Correct!" she said uncovering her eyes and hugging her. Although she had heard about her in letters she hadn't seen her in person for two years in a row and gosh she had grown up so much she looked like such a lady.

"How are you?"

"I am doing well thank you for asking, I'm just going to assume you doing just fine. I know well you love this festival."

"Indeed it holds a special place in my heart." a moment of silence was held between the two of them then Cassandra decided to write into the juicy stuff.

"Have you been able to get a date this year?"

"Cassandra! I'm working myself off and you still think I have time for those things?"

"I'm just asking for a friend!"

"I know your 'friends' very well Cassandra and tell them I would rather go out with a horse"

"Your so harsh you know that"

"Only to the people who harsh to me sweetheart, you get what you give."

"Alondra for once in your life, live a little! Your 21! I won't stop bugging you until you have someone to go with you introvert."

" I do not need anyone! IM fine by myself."

"Okay, I guess..." Alondra knew that whatever Cassandra said she completed it and she wouldn't stop bugging her for the next week, but she needed to worry about the banquet and the festival. She didn't have to spend the other 10 years of her life like a guy for him to just dispose of her like garbage.

What she needed to think about was the color of the ribbons, that Ms.Katy is making her potatoes for the banquet like promised, making sure everyone that would attend the banquet would enjoy it.
