Chereads / In The Woods With Fabian / Chapter 13 - Anti-Romantic

Chapter 13 - Anti-Romantic

Since they were little Cassandra always saw a big difference that separated her cousin and her. Alondra didn't like being romantic or having any sort of fun. Like that time that they were playing spin the bottle with some friends.

"Cassandra I told you I don't want to do this!" said 9-year-old Alondra yet her cousin made her spin the bottle.

"It pointed towards Rex now you have to kiss him" the thought of even kissing Rex made Alondra run away and she wasn't found until midnight hiding.

Also, like that one time where they were 12 and she had rejected many sweet letters on valentines day and didn't even give time to read the letters.

"Come on hear this one, 'Dearest Princess-" said Cassandra trying to convince her to read the letters.

"They all begin with 'Dear Princess! Couldn't they come up with something else?"

Certainly, her cousin's standards were at the up, highest and she demonstrated it in her letters that got to her.

"There was yet again a guy from Grumshroom kingdom trying to flirt with me, he is very dry."

"He was too dumb"

"He was too confident"

She knew well that if she didn't change her cousin's ways she would end up in an arranged marriage and regret never living her life. Cassandra was going to get arranged but she felt she had enjoyed her love life while it lasted and she had been able to avoid spending her whole life on her childhood crush, Rodrick. There were now no regrets!

She decided to place this in her own hands and made sure her older cousin would get a date.

"Rodrick!" screamed Cassandra as she had accidentally bumped into him.

"Cassandra! I'm so ashamed" he said extending a handout to help her get up.

"Don't be I was in the clouds. I show have been paying attention"

"Look at you... You have grown up too much for us not to have seen each other in two years."

"Same to you"

"It feels like yesterday we were playing tag in the Ede Garden"

"It's so strange how time flies by with a warning."

"How about we talk over breakfast. My treat!"

"That sounds lovely!"

The old friends had talked about what had happened during the two years of no communication. While that was occurring Alondra was still very busy with the preparations, well her family was busy as well they had all missed breakfast of only went to pick up their plate. Alondra was occupied in her room until heard a sudden knock on her door.

"Who is it?"

"Fabian" she stood up walking towards the door having a gut feeling that whatever Fabian had to say was no good. And Alondra was good at gut feelings, she had predicted her grandfather's death, her father's death, and lastly her announcement of her marriage.

"Come right in," she said opening the door. "What happened?"

"They know..."

"Who knows what? What are you talking about?"

"We changed time and its occurrences that positively affected us but it affected other people negatively. Humans can't remember the changes of events but some Cuzlenik can remember the changes. They already concluded they can't sin the vents and if they find out it was me I would certainly be tortured, and if they find out you were associated with it you will probably be killed"

"Did you know this would happen?"

"I just didn't think about that..."

"What are we going to do now? I'm not about to be killed!"

"I'm thinking of making it look like it's someone else"

"Won't the other Cuzlenik kill them"

"Probably... In the meantime, I already called in a friend to help me"

"Won't he probably betray you?"

"As much as you can betray me," he said exciting the room, Alondra had been left in shock, she didn't want to be killed. She had just begun having a good life and she wasn't going to let anyone take that away.

Meanwhile in a very well-known forest payment you the king was closing up so unfinished business he had.

"Heres the payment I promised, next time I will give you the last payment that way we can seal the deal" aid Harvey throwing a bag of money into the table.

"Very well, how's the kid doing?" said the witch taking in the money.

"He is doing well, he no longer has any more complications"

"I told you my magical herbs would work with heart problems," she said as she swept her small cottage.

"Well thank you very much. By when will you be needing the next payment."

"Next week Friday my dear"

"But that's a really big amount, you now well that k take the money little by little I need to have at least two weeks."

"Everything comes with a price my dear"

"It's been 8 years of me paying you and not even once did you ask for a payment in that short amount of time!"

"Exactly I am a very packet woman but I'm afraid you have taken away every ounce of it. Oh but don't worry, your son is a whole payment by himself. I can feel his magic potential that can make whole armies cower in fear, or kings come down to their knees. He would serve as -"

"I understand thank you, I will bring the payment"

Creed had been born with his heart outside of his body, as soon as King Harvey got the news of the misfortune he had gone to consult a witch which only gave him a special tea in which Creed had to bathe in and by tomorrow the incident would be erased.

Anahita didn't want to do it because she feared it would curse them and the kingdom or even worse. It would curse Creed. But the king believed the worst curse in this life is the unimaginable death. The herbs worked and they continued to bathe him in the tea but it always came with a big payment that needed to be given to the sorceress. Harvey took out a little money now and then from the kingdom's savings so he could pay the sorceress. And since the first day of debt he had always been threatened with having Creed is taking away because the witch has discovered that Creed had been born with strong magical powers that would only need to be unleashed with a few classes and he would make any kingdom into dust.

If you're not entering a problem you are in the middle of your problem and then if you're not you have just exited a problem. Every day we face problems and that does not exclude the royal family. Each one has their small secrets and they are good liars.

Alondra often wonders why did she even enter the woods with Fabian, her mother is making sure a little someone gets killed as soon as next week, Harvey wishes he will be successful once again in stealing the kingdoms savings, Anahita wishes that it would stay put for nine months, and Creed wishes that his sneak outs would forever remain secret.

We all be secrets and problems and it's only until it all comes out into the light.
