Chapter 28 - Week 10 - Earth - 3 (Ky's Thoughts)

Ky sat down heavily in his chair and placed his head in his hands. When had it gotten like this he wondered. Thinking back, he tried to remember when his feelings had changed from that of a teacher protecting his student to that of a creature coveting someone. Maybe it had been her looks, or perhaps it was that mouth of hers that always popped out with inappropriate remarks.

When he had first met her, he had indeed found her beautiful with her thick, rich blond hair and her bright green eyes, but it had been merely an observation. Just something a teacher noted about a student. At the same time, he had noted that Alexi was handsome, that Momo was pretty, that Angelique and Aerie were beautiful too, and that Brawn was large. It wasn't anything abnormal. What he hadn't understood was why the rest of the class was calling her the Notably Ugly Girl. So, he called her up to ask her after class ended. When she responded with that pretty pout and downcast eyes that she was ugly he realized that they were all seeing something he wasn't.

He had then spent a week trying to figure out what the rest of the class saw when they looked at her. He discovered it quite by accident. One day, in a rush, he forgot to put on his ring that protected him from love and glamour magic. When he got to class and saw her, he was so surprised he laughed.

The next day he called her up again to ask how it worked and tell her it was prohibited when she completely forstalled him by saying he should laugh more because it was such a warm sound. She had immediately blushed and tried to retract the statement. He hadn't let her. Instead he leaned closer to her and asked if she didn't think he was more dignified if he didn't laugh.

The girl had blushed again and said that she didn't feel that people should pretend to be what they were not. That it'd be different if he actually was too dignified to laugh but this way it was too much like lying even to himself. She had said all of this with a straight face while looking directly at him. He felt like she had stripped him bare. This had annoyed Glace, so he decided to punish her.

He put a proximity magic on her. Nothing major, just something to make her pulse quicken whenever they were near one another or made eye contact. Something small to make her think she liked him, so he could watch her fret over liking her teacher. It worked too, and he began to find excuses to be near her or meet her eyes so that he could get amusement from her reactions. He began to think of her as a toy made his fun.

Then came the day that Alexi tried to mark her. Ky had felt uneasy letting them partner up. He didn't like how often the crow watched his toy, but he couldn't stop them at that point, having no reason to. So, he watched them closely. He saw Ro snap herself out of him mind with excessive force and saw the fear and anger on her face. Then it was his turn to be angry as he saw what Alexi was going to do.

His own anger had surprised him. It was the first time in a long time that he had felt that way and it was at the thought of Alexi taking away his toy. The cause astonished him. So, he stopped him and informed him again that it was against the rules. When Ky had looked at Ro, he realized he could have fun with her by taking her into his mind, for practice.

He hadn't meant for the images to get so out of hand. He just wanted to show her some of what she thought she wanted and amuse himself with her embarrassment and discomfort. But then he could feel her body warming up. The only hot thing in his frozen mind. He realized that it was more than just the magic. That she wanted him. His mind got carried away and the images became more intense. The force of his desire during the last one had taken his breath away and it took most of his self-control not to continue with the fantasy. He had woken up sweating, dreaming of her pleasured moan more times than he could count now.

The way his body had reacted in his mind should have warned him to back off, but he had been in denial. He had truly thought when he gave her the necklace that he'd only meant it for protection. He had no such illusions now.

He lied when he told her he wouldn't have killed the crow. The rage he had felt seeing her kissing Alexi had gripped him so hard that his vision had turned red. He had even shifted into his demon form. If the crow hadn't escaped through the window, Ky would have killed him and made it a drawn out, torturous affair.

And then when he saw her again, sitting in class as if nothing had happened, a portion of his rage returned. He wondered if perhaps he'd been wrong, and she gone there willingly. He couldn't even force himself to smile at the rest of the class for the remained of the two periods. If that hadn't been enough to tell him his feelings had changed the amount of relief he felt when he heard her saying that she couldn't control her body, would have been.

But now what was he to do? He was her teacher. He shouldn't feel this way, but he did. The thought of stepping down and allowing someone else to take his place as the one she turned to when she was in trouble was unbearable to him. And the thought of leaving her be was equally unpalatable. He was stuck.
