Chereads / The Deity Index System / Chapter 174 - White Specters

Chapter 174 - White Specters

As soon his eyes fell upon the mysterious beings, Thomas whispered absentmindedly. "White Specters..."

[Boy, did you say something?] [What did you say?] [I'm sure I head something]

The deities talked in his mind but Thomas himself was sure what he just did and sook his head. "The name just came to mind, the White Specters. An alien species that's contending with the demons for this star sector. According to what Erak'von knew, this race doesn't rely on any sort of internal or external energy but purely on their powerful bodies made of a mysterious kind of metal that can absorb and redirect any damage as well the ability repair itself."

[Boy, you should find a way to collect some of this metal, more the better.]

A voice resounded in Thomas mind, this time it was not from the other gods but from the mysterious God of Runic Formations.

"What do you mean?"

[These white specters, their bodies are made of Meraclus, the Spirit Metal. It's a heavenly treasure native to the fallen celestial plane and it's something even gods would fight for. Mereclus would be of great assistance in mastering the art of Blacksmithing and Refining you learned from the Blacksmithing Titan as well in comprehending the mysteries of the Runic Formations. Any artifact bellow divine can barely leave a dent on it.]

While the old voice blabbed about this heavenly metal or something, all other deities were silent, completely oblivious to what was being said. It must be known that among all deities in the First Layer of the System, few even knew the names of all the planes in the universe, much less seen how any of those looks like.

So other than the old Rune Master, no one else seemed to know anything of this metal and were all silent since they had no way to confirm what was being said.

"Interesting, I want to see if this metal is so special as you said." Thomas flew straight towards the specters. He already inspected these creatures before and knew they posed little to no danger.

Booooom!

Right in the middle of the battlefield a shadow crashed onto the snow and a strong pressure was brought down upon everybody else be it the creatures or demons.

"What?!" "Did something happen?" The demons were confuse but then relaxed as each and every demon noticed the trace of demonic energy coming from that shadow.

When the dust and snow settled, a tall, demonic figure with a pair of lion ears and a tail as well the markings on his cheeks and arms stood with a creature in each of his hands.

'It's indeed very sturdy' Thomas thought to himself as he could confirm how hard is the skin of these creatures. With a touch, he was able to tell this metal was worth more than any of the metals he can currently find on the system store.

He believed only by wilding divinity to unleash some of his strongest attacks with Lumine or the Necrospear could he break through this defense.

Casting a long glance to the struggling demons, Thomas waved his hands bringing forth a enormous sucking force which pulled in all the creatures straight into the Necrosphere.

Without hesitating, Thomas attracted all the White Specters away from the village. The creatures, previously hesitant about Thomas and his mysterious presence had all turned hostile and dashed at him with their strong bodies.

Despite not heaving any major powers nor abilities, the body of the creatures couldn't be underestimated and some didn't seem too shaken.

Pa!

Exchanging blows, Thomas' smile froze once he noticed his wrist nearly break from the impact. thinking back, this sort of damage was to be expected.

With bodies made of a metal so sturdy even precious materials like celestial bronze and gold or star silver could compare to.

All by himself Thomas fought over fifty and while it was exhausting, he wasn't hurt in the least. After five minutes, Thomas lost patience and brought forth a jet black spear infused with the power of the heart of sin. For the first time, Thomas felt a unprecedented synergy between the two followed by his divinity flaring up, the three together a connection that made his Necrospear bathe in a ominous and deviously aura light like a star encased behind the darkest shadow.

As the dark spear pierced forwards, invisible threads of energy, as thin as needles attacked. Millions of threads, cutting through space itself and unleashing tremendous devastation upon the surrounding area.

It was a power far above what a Divine Artifact of Grade 1 could unleash and even the deities inside the system were fairly shocked by the sight of Thomas and his spear.

In less than a second, all the creatures were reduced to rubble. Pieces of the divine metal were everywhere.

Shrieeeek!

In fact, not just the creatures but all the trees, a large piece of the ground as well the snow were all gone. Cut off by the million energy threads.

Space itself seemed as if it would break any second.

Thomas stood there, completely immersed in the marvelous feeling. It was only for a instant but he felt the two the Heart of Primordial Sin and the Necrospear melt into each other and this brought such a great feeling he couldn't even explain.

It was similar to when he unleashed Prometheus' Divinity yet completely new, and that attack... It was a little too powerful, he could feel space itself was cut by this move of his. It was almost as if for a moment, his ability had surfaced the limit of the material realm.

Of course it was only a feeling, it was too soon for him to see the mystery behind it.

"Now, let's get Lulu and leave this place." Thomas wasn't planning on interacting with any one this planet's inhabitants flew away as soon he was done there.

Now flying a little to the east.

Thomas had long since located Lulu, she was fighting one of the white creatures and while she was much stronger, none of her attacks had any effect.

Landing by the frozen bushes, Thomas watched the fight quiet. Hours passed and it was dark until the light of a blue star could be seen emerging from the horizon.

Lulu laid on the ground next to the body of the white specter that now was completely wrecked from the fight.

While it wasn't that emotional of a fight, Thomas satisfied that girl could break though the creature's body with just her claws. It was sure a lot more than he expected, but once it was over Thomas walked by and lifted the small lion covered in bruising and small cuts.

"Umm... Her breath is weak and she's unconscious. The injuries are healing fast and she seems to have gained a lot from it..." Holding the Sin Shard he got from the right hand of the demon lord he killed, Thomas did the same process, changing the signature inside the shard to Lulu's then summoned Lumine.

"Lumine, I'm going to input some new data on this star sector on you. Take us to the Ceilea Star, it's the only place with access to the territory of the Sonad Family."

[Affirmative, setting course for Ceilea Star. There's anything Master needs?]

"No, just notify me if there's any problem along the way. I'll be taking a sleep." Closing his eyes, Thomas easily fell asleep.
