Chapter 149 - The Necrosphere Divine Artifact

Glaymoor, the 7-star beast and former lord of the Krias walking with Luke, the twilight lion Thomas had met before. As the son of one of Arthurs closest subordinates, Glay thought having Luke who knowns the city well is a good choice.

Also, a way to portent his own interest from that same 7-star beast.

Luke asked in a low voice. "Boss, we can't find the thing master wants, but our scouts found scents of beasts down south. It's around five thousand."

Glay gave a good look at what remained of Aaron, then replied. "It must be the beasts still left in the city. it's only 4-star beasts and bellow, nothing to worry about. Now focus on finding the chamber, we must be ready to receive my lord father when he arrives with the key."

"Sure boss. But there is one little thing, it seems a purple-eyed Earth Core Lion is leading the refugees. It must be the one I told you about before, the one that can perfectly transform into a demon."

"What?!" The stone walls around him all broke into pieces by the pressure of his aura.

Glaymoor always saw itself as a smart creature, Krias used to be a small beast whose only talent was the poisonous toxin they could produce. A venom that would grow by absorbs the toxins on other poisonous plants and beasts.

Soon, it was able to dominate an entire region with it's brethren.

All was done through usages of tricks and cunning plans most beasts would find it something dishonorable to the very least.

Not only did it manage to escape from the domination of the stronger beasts, it even successfully settled down on the north of the island and grew its forces.

It was only when a strange man that fell upon his tribe's communal altar that he came to know a whole new world had been opened at that very moment

Bestowed with this sacred being's blood, he was able to become something entirely new.

Converting all of the Krias into Daemon was only the first step. Instead of killing all other beasts, the plan was to covert over half into Daemon and sparing the other half as resources.

By following Arthur he truly believed the Krias would be the greatest tribe under heavens, then he found out a single beast and totally unrelated to the master was able to transform into a demon.

Right, the demon. Not the weaken and unbalanced form but a pure and complete demon that couldn't delve into their deepest instincts, losing themselves in the process.

Arthur didn't seem to care when he first heard the news. In fact he even seemed a little excited to know that.

However, Glay didn't seem to agree with that. For him, A perfect humanoid demon evolved that wasn't in their ranks couldn't be allowed to exist.

The only reason the Krias received much of Arthur's favor was due to how easy this species could assimilate the golden demon blood and transform into lizardmen.

Yes, it was far from perfect demon form, hell it was even worse than a ordinary demon form in it's complete state.

Yet, against all odds this fragile species grew absurdily. Their scales got over ten times sturdies and couldn't block attracts one star higher than them.

All of this made them precious source of powerful fighters but what if the strong tribes were evolved as well.

His emotions intensifed when he first discovered Luke's dad Vail and the Water, Fire and Wind Lions as well many others joined the demon prince.

Seeing as more and more Daemons appeared, uneasiness sprouted in it's heart.

With the more Daemons that appeared, their importance in Arthur's eyes would be lower and lower.

To protect it's kin, Glay needed to do something!

'Yeah, I must not such danger alive. To protect my own, they must all to die.'

He then decided to kill all the beasts so to not create any more Daemons. But as it was walking towards the south where Lulu and the beasts were heading towards, it's cold scaled turned even colder as cold sweat fell down it's head.

What is this?

The very strange scent could be picked up in the surroundings. And a second later, goosebumps broke out on its whole body.

"Sorry, but you won't be getting that far." Out of the shadows walked a youth with a head full of mixed black hair and holding onto a black orb the size of an melon.

Luke's eyes were wide open but he couldn't manage to speak, a powerful pressure stronger than even master himself was pressing down on him.

It was not just Luke, but Glay and all other Daemons were the same and none understood why standing before this being made them unable to act or speak at all.

Thomas wasn't surprised by the outcome but was very pleasant as well. Understanding all that was happening, he laughed loudly then joked. "Hahaha.....You guys are truly unlucky. You may have absorbed pure-demon blood but this doesn't make you a true demon. The density of demon bloodline in your bodies barely counts as low-rank demon, but I'm well beyond that. Battle efference is not the same as the grade of one's talent and lineage."

"Forget about your master who is just a royal-rank prince, even imperial-rank demons are well bellow me in terms of bloodline. When my blood is coupled with the tittle of Demon Lord's Successor then well.... You can say the suppressive effect is way stronger half-baked demons than on ordinary low-rank demons."

Suddenly, Glay after making huge efforts was able to break away from the suppression and struck a palm as Thomas who took the full blood without shedding a drop of blood.

"Now it's my turn." The orb in his hand suddenly morphed into a pitch-black spear.

Waves of pitch black divine energy shot out of the shadows and managed to make it's way to Glay who could barely defend himself as was propelled backwards and crashed onto a big stone house.

When he got up from the hole he created with his fall, Glay's body was covered in hundreds of thin, intrusive cuts one could only wonder how they were made in such a short time.

"Did you like this artifact of mine. I just gave it a name, it's called the Necrosphere. What you see now is just it's secondary form, the Necrospear."
