Once he thought thing through, he noticed his present location very near the bottom of the pillar, also know as the bottom city. Where only the worst of the worst can survive in there, the only place for the lowborn Demons and Meras whose mixed blood earns them nothing but scorn.
The Bottom City isn't something one would want to be involved in since it was always reeking of criminals and ruled by powerful gangs.
Afraid of the true responsible for the five bodies would come back, Ganak prepared to escape when a chill flow down his spine. His senses immediately detecting an immediate danger.
Eyes searched through the woods, but he couldn't find trace of any demonic beasts or other demons in the area.
It was then.
'Ku-uuuuuuukh!!'
The previously five demons that died in mysterious ways suddenly writhed and began moving. One of the bodies stood up in a flash and It extended its hand grabbed Ganak's sleeve.
'This!' He could see a reddish pair of eyes gazing at him with hunger and endless blood lust, with a little hint of something all demons are very familiar with.
"Wraith!" Being the son of a demon lord he learned very early about the significance of tempering one's heart and how it was important for a noble demon to understand his emotion. A demon can't lose themselves to their demonic instincts or it's their hearts and minds that will cease to exist.
By that point one would have no other reason to live other than chaos and destruction, that is the Wraith.
In the past, Wraith wasn't always looked at as a bad thing. For those who could control this state, the power of Waith is something particularly useful and could make even the lowest of demons in to a powerhouse.
However, this condition should only happened to living demons, right? He even confirmed the five demons were really dead, so now, against everything he's learned, the dead are coming back as wraiths.
Only then did the shock pass as he realized he's life in danger right now. Ganak was terrified by the fact he couldn't even muster a drop of strength to resist and fight back. After all, he was just a seventeen year old kid without any experience in combat.
'Fuck, fuck, fuck fuck... I should have learned Demon Arts from father!'
Just before the Wraith could rip through his neck, a blade as thin as cicada's wings flew past his head out of nowhere. The blade was gone as quick as it came, time seemed to stop for a second before the he heard a blunt noise and saw the dead demon's head in the ground.
The other Wraiths were alerted and tried to pounce on Ganak only to be target of over twenty identical blades flying their way.
Acting entered of their instinct, the dead demons didn't detect any danger the four bodies were made into mincemeat.
Following right away was a big flare which fell over the bodies, burning any traces of it's existence.
A voice then echoed. "What a mess... huh? You still alive?"
From the direction of the crimson pillar, a shadow walked closer. Black hair, crooked horns and a and a cold gray eyes.
It was a low-rank gray demon, the most common type of demon in the realm. Dressed in low-quality rags and holding a rusted dagger, this shadow of repulsive appearance.... This could only be one of the lowlife demons of that place.
One strange thing, however, was that on contrary to the present scene, Thomas who was watching it all in silence felt intense sorrow and grief deep within Ganak's soul. Something so strong it even affect Thomas in the middle of his synchronization.
'Wait a little...' Only then did Thomas notice something about this demon, something behind it's horns, it's a... cat ear?
While many demons had attacked earth and mars, there were no traces of demons bearing such features. This shadow looked more like a Daemon and not like the other demons he had seen.
Continuing the memories, Ganak's pointed at the Shadow. "Y-you killed them?"
Ganak was having mixed feeling, thinking this person was the one who had saved him, but then it didn't seem to be that. At least this demon only saved him once that is right now.
"They were already dead so I don't count that as killing." Said the Shadow who voice was very melodious and soothing to hear, a complete contrast to this demon looks. Wait, you mean who killed, killed them. You really don't remember anything?"
The demon pointed at the where the bodies previously were and said. "I was watching it all from the city. These five were after you, one managed to catch you but before they could do anything else, there was a big burst of energy. Sun-type Demons are very rare so I knew it right away."
The demon suddenly moved to Ganak, gazing at him up close.
When his eyes managed to look at the demon before him, Ganak was stunned. Despite this demon's tattered clothes and bad smell, the face he was facing right now was so pretty he couldn't even manage to speak. In a way, it reminded him of his mother's face.
As if it was satisfied after looking at him for over five minutes, the demon stood up then glanced at City not much far away.
"There are no guards in the bottom city, but others will soon find this place so we better go."
"Go? Go where?"
The demon whose face was not the most beautiful, the pair of bright eyes amidst all the despair moved Ganak. "To the Bottom City of course."
