Chapter 147 - Inner Demons

The Demon by the name of Relrannaz, Rel for short, guided Kez'Ganak through a different entrance and before long he found himself in the middle of the Bottom City.

'Disgusting' was the first word in Thomas' mind. This place was perfect representation of the hell that was recorded in many scriptures.

All dressed in rags, those that still wore something otherwise it was a literal naked hell, not the good kind since most of these low-rank gray demons were not the good-looking type. Demons engaged in all kinds of acts, raging from torturing and killing one another in the streets, pissing, having intimate relations.

'Now it looks like what I did expect from a demon realm.' Finally, Thomas saw the side of demons that made even the beasts look cute.

. Even

Another thing he didn't expect to see at all was several spiritual creatures of the same species as Clarisse were walking down these streets. Necros such as zombie-looking things, skeletons and other types he doesn't even know exactly were everywhere as well.

The mysterious cat-eared demon pulled Ganak to a quiet place, away from the eyes of the crowd so they could talk better. It was then the future demon lord came to know it was he the responsible for killing those five demons earlier.

"I watched it all from afar so I'm pretty sure of it. When they were about to catch up to you, there was a burst of heat and the orange mist characteristic of the sun demons. The hot air and energy delved into their bodies, killing them from the inside."

Ganak was in deep thought after hearing Rel's recounting of the incident. Maybe this was the sign of his physique awakening? Possible, but he couldn't count on that.

In the meanwhile he was also worrying about this demon before him. Very rarely demons would give a helping hand when there's nothing to gain, so he couldn't show any weakness or he would be sold off in a instant.

However, before he could say anything and maintain a quiet about things and find a way to escape, there was a voice which echoed in his mind.

'You can trust this one.'

Ganak was immediately scared, not because of it's existent but the fact it was coming from a place deep within himself, from a mysterious cloudy space in the interior of the demon pearl to be more specific.

'Hey!'

He tried to call out to the voice, but it didn't spoke again. Yet, the mysterious voice carried so strong of a influence his mind was swayed and he began seeing this demon before him as a somebody he needed to befriend.

"Fine, I'll go with you."

......

The visions continued until Ganak's twenty birthday when things stopped. There wasn't any rewards like skills or attributes which made sense since the subject of synchronization is just a demon lord and not a deity. T

he amount of memories to be seen were also a lot smaller than Prometheus who lived thousands of years. This could be seen from how much the synchronization rose form watching just two short memories.

[Synchronization Rate: 72%]

Before returning to reality, Thomas felt as if something suddenly pulled him away.

"Huh?"

The entire scene froze, including Ganak and the demon Rel as the voice was directly at Thomas. Pulling him back into the system space, he was now standing inside the hall of gods but instead of Ganak or the other deities, he was there alone.

"Finally we meet." The source of the voice manifested as a orange sphere floating before Thomas.

Thomas who inside the hall of gods assumed his real, human form instead of his current one was staring blankly. He understood somebody has pulled him into the hall to talk, but then he found this talking sphere he's never seen before. The orange sphere's aura was quite familiar, though.

"There's it, a titan is truly amazing..." The voice seemed taken in a mouthful of air in disbelief.

"I expected this already, but seeing you in person for the first made made this old one truly amazed."

Thomas couldn't understand anything, and simply stood there, looking at the sphere of light. "Err... Do I know you?"

"Aren't you seeing my memories right now?"

Thomas slowed down, then his widened as he took a couple steps back. Hesitantly, he asks. "Are you, Ganak's inner demon?"

"Yes, I am the inner demon and I brought you here for us to speak."

"I understand. So why you want to speak about?" Thomas nodded, then seemed to realize something. "Wait, it was you before wasn't it? The voice that told ? If so, why help him? I thought inner demons are supposed..."

"To oppose their hosts? Try to take over their minds?" Ganak's inner demon completed for Thomas. "Not all inner demons want that just like not all demons are evil. In fact, inner demons aren't exclusive to demons but only a demon's negative and/or suppressed emotions can make the harmless inner demons grow stronger. Carelessly feeding a inner demon has is only one ending, becoming a Wraith."

The sphere then morphed. Assuming the form of a orange-haired man, identical as Ganak. "My host has always been a simple-minded person, easily trusting others and suffering the most in the end. Born with an legendary physique, his clansmen saw him as their only hope, yet when he showed no progress, their simply lost their faith and let him be."

"It's his feelings that made me who I am and by watching his life I couldn't see any reason to take over his body. But none of that matters for now. I called you here is to talk about you and your inner demon."

'Huh?'

"Yes, your inner demon. He's already taken form and should be hidden deep within yourself. The transformation into a titan made him stronger just like you, in fact he should have gotten a greater intellect than your average inner demon. You should have a good talk with him as soon as possible, at least before he decided to take you as an enemy either than a friend."
