Planet Astru, Shadow Wind Continent.
Even though this was in the middle of the day, a green mist covered everything the eyes could see.
One only thing could stand out amidst so much desolation and that is the imposing city of Arghot, made in the form of huge the pillar, the jewel of the south. Right, the entire city was carved in a giant pillar of blood demon ore. A precious material required for the pathfinder, the most important device for anyone who wishes to travel into the rifts. Here this metal was in high abundance to the point it could even be seen in ordinary weapons and tools.
The city was located in the middle of the Emerald Forest, a wild place whose poisonous green fog would kill anyone who stays there for more than twenty hours.
However, dangers are often followed by fortune and fortune is something that there is no lack of is in the woods.
The paradise for mercenaries since the carcass of a single high level demonic beast can make some huge money, they all wish to try their luck.
Natural treasures are also present in such abundance that many try their luck, all fulfill their deepest desires.
Deep within the forest lies down to wear a young demon. This youth whose age seemed about 17 years old. The young man moved slowly several of his fingers, then the eyes slowly opened, eyes of doubts were looking at the surroundings.
Standing up slowly, Kez'Ganak looked at the surrounding environment.
lofty trees appear everywhere, these big trees are quite high and there was no trace of anyone else.
"Emerald Forest? Haven't I died?"
Before having the time to access the situation, he felt a sudden and severe pain in the head, lots of images followed.
He remembered now. On the way back from the city, he was approached by those of the Castla clan, a reclusive clan of demons that lives on top of Arghot City.
Just another one of the Sonad's lapdogs. They have been a considerable nuisance since he's sent away of the endless plains to this place under the premise of "studies".
He knows very well it's all the family elders unhappy with his progress that pressured his dad to send him away. At least in this way he would be finally free of all the annoying family business, so he thought.
The first day at the academy was enough for him to regret coming. All the children there are sons and daughters of big demon lords, yet he didn't felt like fitting in there.
In the end, he wasn't able to make any friends and was simply avoided by everyone else. That was an entire year ago, but it didn't change at all.
Well, being part of that cursed clan, it made sense no one would want to be close to him.
If there was anything new was one of his classmates, the eldest son of the Castla, they didn't see eye to eye and had a fair number of conflicts.
This small, childish feud then multiplied on a incident last night when Ganak received a letter of his family bearing the mark of the Demon Lord.
[Young Master, I'm sorry to break this to you but the Clan has been attacked. Your dad lost an arm and an eye in the interested war with the moon demons, now he's mostly unconscious. Young lady's unique talent caught the eyes of the powerful Demon King. The Lord tried to stop it, but the young lady, she was taken away. The Lord fought all he could but he lost an arm and an eye, now he's mostly unconscious and shows no signs of recovery....
The situation is bad for the entire clan, we not resist another year, but I advice the Young Master to not act, Lord's blood must go on. The Lord, your father left ten platinum crowns that I sent together with this letter, it should be enough to last a while. Also remember to keep distance...]
The clansmen who wrote this, in order to have sent a letter with the family mark must mean he or she is at least of elder rank. The message was also short and very confusing, and given it's ending he couldn't even tell if this elder is still alive.
What he got from it was that something happened, his sister whose talent made even the Demon Kings jealous was taken away. With his father in a coma, there's no one else the family can turn to for guidance, but they don't want him to come back.
He didn't know exactly what happened, but seemed to be pretty bad since
Holding the head unceasingly is tumbling on the ground, more and more pictures flash through in the Thomas mind.
Feeling an swarm of emotion he went back to the the academy only to find several posters with his picture. One of the demon clans put an award of a nine hundred platinum crowns on his head.
An award that high is not something a clan of a backward city of like this could afford. Even the ten platinum crowns he was given is about ninety percent of what the family made in a year.
Without time to rest, guys from the Castla Family encircle him and tried to kidnap him. He was able to escape the claws of several demons before feeding his way to the forest, then...
"I can't remember what happened next, huh?"
He just didn't expect those guys would come all the way here just to ambush him.
Giving a quick look around, he found the bodies of the five demons that ambushed him.
"White horns, no elemental affinity, and then the bone blade in each of it's arms. Yep, they are all Castla. Now let me see if they have anything of worth on them." Before this, Kez found strange that they would have died so suddenly, and leaving no clue. However, he isn't the type of questioning since everything seemed to be fine.
Several minutes later Ganak stopped and he laughed mockingly at himself. "I think I should be feeling happy to be alive. Alright, I won't let this go unpunished."
Checking their bodies, he thought strange that no weapons or anything of value was found. There was only one Demon Blood Plaque in the body of their leader, one of those the demons use to engrave all sorts of information.
Picking it up, he noticed the engraving on it's back. A three-horned spider, the symbol of the Castla.
"Only by knowing the keyword can this thing open, that is if you don't know how to crack it."
Threads of blood fluttered in the air and followed by several hand signs, the blood threads squirmed over the plaque. It held pretty well for a while but soon it showed a couple cracks.
"I should have known. Kalris, the silver sun is involved in this?" Ganak shuddered, he truly didn't expect things to be like this.
Kalris, the Silver Sun Demons is one of the top one hundred of the ten thousand demons clans. Even the entire Sonad Empire is child's play compared to the Kalris.
The ones inheriting the complete bloodline of the Sun Emperor and his Father, Gluttony. Inheriting both powers, the member that family are demons beyond demons, true monsters.
Isn't Kalris like, from another sector of the demon realm? They came all the way here for his sister?
