Seeing no monsters reacted, Thomas had a bad feeling as he rushed towards the direction the while line was falling.
If it was really a human that was falling from the rift, there was no way it could survive that fall.
Orange water drops formed a fifty meter long spectral hand right below the white line so even if he feel the hand would absorb most of the impact.
Boooom!
The second the white line landed on his hand, Thomas felt a weird chill in his body.
Reducing the spectral hands' size, he brought the hand to himself as was left startled. As he expected, the person he just saved indeed looked like a human.
Long black hair, tied in a ponytail with a strange looking hairpin on his head which made Thomas almost mistake this person as a woman.
In terms of age, he didn't seem to be much older than himself, yet this young man had slightly different facial structures than what was seen on earth, and his clothes.... A white robe with blue embroidery and blue ribbon ties around the waist straight out of a eastern fantasy drama.
This man was bathed in blood which cuts and scars all over, yet these wasn't a trance of damage on the clothes which made Thomas wonder if there was some kind of enhancement or spell put on these robes.
Inspecting the pockets on his robes, Thomas found a letter written in glyphs that didn't belong to any of the languages of earth.
And it couldn't be a ancient alien language as well since not even the system was able to translate it for him.
He searched a little more and found two more things, a paper scroll written with similar glyphs as the letter and a small crystal bottle containing four milky-white pills. It had a similar smell to the alchemical potions he bought from the system, through he couldn't be sure of it's sure when the glyphs on the bottle were impossible to understand.
One thing he was sure was that this person was an inhabitant of the mortal realm and not of the other planes.
Suddenly the youth in white opened his eyes, pupils dilatate as he assessed his surroundings in shock before he slid his hand across his ring and pulled out a bronze sword and pointed at Thomas. He stared at Thomas for a few seconds and mumbled some words, which obviously Thomas wasn't able to understand.
Yet as a fellow human being he was able to get his emotions from the expressions on the young man's face, Thomas slowly stepped back after leaving the man's belongings on the floor so he won't be seen as a threat. Though the drops of demonic blood were boiling in preparation.
"Jya gsg gsah... Where is I standing?"
After a few tries, Thomas was able to understand the man's words while still sounding a little weird. Not sure if the system would be able to translate his own words to the man, Thomas still tried. "Sorry for scaring you. It's just that you fell from up there..."
Thomas pointed to the dimensional breach in the sky and spoke, surprisingly the young man in white seemed to have picked up his words and showed confusion in his eyes, then he nodded. "Hole in the ground, I remember falling in a abyss, yes... Name?"
"Thomas."
"Kan."
Both modern and ancient looking humans inspected themselves. Kan wasn't sure of what was happening as well, Thomas' clothing is a little different from what he was used to and his name sounded weird as well. Thinking back to the previous moments, he remembered to be escaping the disciples of an enemy sect when he fell through the ground, in a hole that wasn't there a second ago.
After a short moment, Kan lowered his weapon as he stored it back in his middle-finger ring.
The moment he stored his weapon back, Kan felt his injured acting up as he spat a mouthful of black blood on the ground, losing his posture midway.
"Are you poisoned?" Thomas immediately realized what was happened and moved forth to help him from falling. Opening the system store, he bought a poison resistance potion from the store and helped the man drink it right away.
The young man Kan's was scared of the other youth suddenly giving him some strange green liquid to drink, yet as a warm sensation spread from his through and his injuries stabilized, he knew it must be some sort of medicine.
Now he got a closer look, despite the strange clothes, the young man with short purple-orange hair was slightly familiar.
"Thanks brother." The man helped himself up.
Thomas nodded and asked him to follow him. "This is no place to talk, let's find somewhere safer."
Heraring Thomas, Kan finally got a good look at his surroundings, the grandiose structures now in ruins, houses and other commercial building all broken to pieces and turned into the lair of powerful beasts.
All those beasts seemed to be moreful than himself at his peak and the elders of his clan, seeing it and how Thomas was able to walk in here unconcerned made him take more notice of the boy who could be an expert in disguise.
As the two took the path out of the monster city, none of its inhabitants seemed to show hostility to the any of them and so they easily got to the forest where the level of the beasts were a lot lower.
