As soon the examination ended, James and Muller walked back into the room, but Thomas didn't seem to notice their presence. Instead, staring intently at the air.
[Sun-moon Demonic Body Level 1 (100%: 1380/1380)]
[User's demonic energy limit has increased. User's demonic energy has increased its density.]
[The user's physique is growing...]
[ The Sun-moon Demonic Body Level 1 is advancing to Sun-moon Demonic Body Level 2...]
[Demon Pearl is forming... The user will be notified when the advancement is complete.]
[The system detected an anomaly in the user's soul that has interfered with the production of anima energy.
[More changes has occurred in the user's body. The user will be able to check all the changes in the Character sheet once the physique advancement is complete.]
Seeing all the notifications, Thomas knew something big has happened but it wasn't time for that since he was being monitored and swiftly closed the notifications after reading them first.
At the side, James was still a bit stunned by test result, yet the smile on his face seemed fairly honest. "Congratulations, I really didn't an adept with less than five months of experience beating this level of examination."
Thomas who just put away his attention further from the system immediately understood the hidden meaning in his words. Truth be told, the entire examination too hard, almost impossible. First because of the number of enemies, the weapons that must be chosen from the few in the room and the fact items that could recharge an Adept's energy couldn't be taken inside.
It must be said anyone else without his abilities and skills would be defeated. This was because no Adept had this much of energy in their bodies, hell, even Elite Adepts won't be able to keep up with the numbers and would end up swallowed by the masses.
It was common sense that demonic beasts that doesn't have a high level of intelligence, however, the beast holograms he faced although weak, had an level of planning and strategy higher than anything you could expect since it was one of the few quantum computer resting underneath the association that was responsible for the holograms.
The only way Thomas could see for another person without his recovering ability to beating this examination would be for the Adept to have an unstoppable battle power capable to cleaning the whole stage before their energy reserves are empty.
For the next hour, Thomas kept talking with James and Edward as they headed to the mess hall. It was when eating a ton of fried chicken that James recalled something. "Since this training camp is supposed to last three months, the association has prepared a place for all the participants like the little friend that came with you. As an student receiving the core spot, you can chose live in another place in the city other than living in the dormitory so you can chose to rent a place to live and take one more person with you."
Thomas went silent, this was something Edward had told him on the way here. He also took the chance to contact his mother who had taken a few weeks off to accompany her sister and nephew that was still in a state of shock.
After parting ways from the Association Head James Yong and Inspector Muller, Thomas was standing on the street.
Right after speaking with his mom, he contacted officer Scott. It seemed his own mission to look into the murder in the Pearl Tech's lab seemed to be postponed since there weren't enough clues to continue the case, or at least it was what the government told him.
It also seemed this police officer had no clue about Clarisse or her secret life as the Flame Empress of Dexia City.
Now that he was free, Thomas went in deep thought. Because of the secrets he's been keeping, he didn't find a good idea to share a dormitory with others so he could only choose to rent a place somewhere close to the training camp, however it would take a while to find a place.
After a moment, Thomas decided to head to the training camp, he believed it would be no problem staying on their dormitory for a few days.
The Adept Training Camp was organized by the association for the sole purpose of growing adepts so they can defend from the massive dimensional rift.
In the vast plains in the outskirts of the city, several dozen immense building that were made in a matter of days, and Thomas immediately could see it from afar.
"Is this the camp? It looks more like a pocket city." Despite the distance, Thomas could see the entire structure seemed to be made of the same alloy as the one used in the association buildings.
Getting closer, Thomas spotted the entrance, where a person was checking the indentities of those who arrived before letting them inside.
The girl standing by the huge metal gates saw the boy that had just arrived. "Here, stand there for a moment."
The girl pointed at a disk-shaped platform right next to her, and Thomas followed the instructors.
"Thomas Ries, 17 years old… 3-star Adept… uhh… wait, let me ask." Turning his head around to Thomas, she asked: "What is your specialization as an Adept?"
"Battle." Thomas replied. Despite wanting to learn more about other areas there is no doubt he is a battle-type adept.
"Good, as a special-grade, you possess priority on choosing your dormitory room, ten bottles of gene-enhancing serum and a daily supply of 1000 Adept Points."
Thomas was shaken. From what Muller told him, in order to provide fairness in the training camp, real-life currency was replaced by Adept Points.
Everything from food, lodging, equipment to the non-public classes had to be deducted from one's Adept Points.
Ordinary participants of the common-grade would only get 20 to 50 adept points daily, everything else would have to be earned by completing tasks, challenges and other doing other activities within the training camp.
He haven't been inside there yet, but the huge disparity made him realize the difference of treatment.
Once completing the procedures and getting inside the building, Thomas was immediately surprised all the facilities and places inside it.
"ping!"
There was a notification on his wrist computer as a real-time map of the training camp appeared on its screen.
"Wow, it's really effective." Looking at the map, he noticed the male dormitories were at the east and the female dormitories were located on the west.
Right now, not everyone had arrived and this entire place seemed to be empty if it wasn't for Thomas to detecting several lifeforms coming from both dormitories.
"Clarisse must have already be there, right?" Thomas stared at the west whiling thinking to himself.
