Chapter 10 - Memory Pass

While many thought Thomas was unconscious due the injuries he suffered in the battle, he was now in the middle of the void space with a huge screen before him. It seemed even when unconscious or in deep sleep it was possible to access the system and even use its many functions like synchronizing with a god's memories as he slept.

"I can't believe I screwed up! But now I know how formidable Adepts can before." Thomas remembered very well how even after all the power ups he just got it was still insufficient before an Adept. At least all of this gave him a certain margin of the powers of an Adept.

Compared to his current stats which he couldn't control perfectly well due to the sudden increase, he assumed if Luccas was to have his physical attributes put in a similar way, then his own attributes would be between 20 and 25

If he needed more than twenty points in the Demonic status in order to manipulate demonic energy, then if he raised all his stats up to 25 or 30 he should be barely the same as a newly advanced adept.

"System, I want to convert the demon soul's I got." Saying those words another window opened before his eye.

[Convert Demon Souls into AP? Y/N]

"Yes. Convert all of them into Attribute points.

[Conversion rate: 2 DS= 1 AP]

[Converting.... You have got 17 AP. Total AP: 40.]

In the end after investing all his AP into his attributes his character sheet was like this:

Thomas Ries.

Race: Half Demon (Demonized Human)

Physique: Sun-Moon Demonic Body (Sealed)

System Access: level F

Attributes:

Strength 14+(9)=23

Agility 15+(5)=20

Dexterity 21

Intelligence 17+(3)=20

Charisma 13+(7)=20

Willpower/Focus 20

Anima 11+(9)=20

Demonic 20+(5)=25

Available AP: x2

Simply as that Thomas rose all his attributes as high as he could leaving only 2AP for later. It was indeed the right choice as the moment he raised his stats several notifications appeared to him.

[Strength has Surpassed 20! Active Skill [Warcry] has been acquired.]

[Warcry: In a battle, Warcry will increase all attributes by 10 during 360 seconds]

[Agility has surpassed 20! Passive Skill [Swift Feet] has been acquired.]

[Swift Feet: User can move faster and farther while consuming less energy. When running at speeds above 120km/h (75mph), the user's energy will automatically form a wind-prof barrier around him.]

[Charisma has reached 20! The user's appearance has been improved.]

[Anima has reached twenty together with every other attribute. Anime is trying to change the user's body... User can now Manipulate Anima Energy. The user has completed all the requirements for the title of Adept.]

[User's body is adapting to the sudden increase in attributes. User will remain sleeping until the change is concluded... (Time Remaining:15h)]

"F*ck, it takes so long." He finally got to become an adept as he wanted for so long, but now had to wait this long. Luckily he didn't try increasing his attributes before the final examination or he would be even more screwed than now. Sitting on the empty space, Thomas simply waited a while before hearing the voice of the system.

[Worry not master, why not use the memory pass you got to watch the memories of a Deity once more. It will help you distract yourself, maybe checking the store is also a nice idea.]

"Right, I don't remember checking the store. Open the system store!"

A large window showing millions and millions of items appeared before his eyes, some didn't show any image or even the price as it required higher System Access. He searched the store before finding the items he could buy with a F Rank System Access.

[Store Credits: 1.000.000]

Due to the achievement of getting the soul of a demon lord in the tutorial, the system rewarded him with a total of one million credits. The amount seemed absurd as first but as he saw the pricings of the items in the store, he seemed to realize it wasn't worth that much.

Potions, pills and all sorts of weapons appeared to him. A magic sword with the [Pierce] Enchantment going for 220.000.

Why would he pay so much for a sword when humanity has weapons a lot more advanced and way more useful. The portions were a little cheaper, a single (Mortal Grade 1) Healing Potion is only 45.000. If the item for the lowest rank was already this expensive, then what about when he got to the higher ranks.

In the description it said there were three grades for potions and medicinal pills, Mortal Grade 1 was mainly pills that were really effective on mortals. Special Grade 2 worked for Demigods and other more powerful species. And Divine Grade 3 were the same Gods would use, with effects that would explode the body of those who would dare drink or eat it.

A Mortal Grade 1 Healing Potion in this case could heal any internal or external injury as long as it didn't have to regrow a whole limb. This was the effect of another potion in the store, the Regeneration Potion, but it can only be bought with a D Rank System Access.

"Alright, I won't buy anything now." After thinking for a while, Thomas decided to keep the money until he had a better Rank.

Now that he at least explored the store a little, Thomas picked the memory pass with anticipation and used it.

[Consuming Memory Pass x1.... Choosing a Deity.... Deity Selected.]

[Master, you are now going to experience the memories of Prometheus, The Firegiver.]

The moment Thomas heard the word Prometheus, his face immediately turned green. He really did hope it was not the same Prometheus as the one he feared.

"Wait a little, it can't be..." Before he could even ask the system the surroundings changed and he was now on the peak of a mountain, inside an elegant and clean temple.

With his eyes, he could see thousands of mortals down in the Mortal World living their lives, but what really surprised him was the huge and familiar blue planet in the sky.

His vision was like a telescope where he could easily see the mountains, sea and the single continent that existed on that planet. However, even if it was totally different from his memories there was no way he could not recognize the planet he and the rest of his species were born in. In the end he was completely sure that the blue planet he could see in outer space not far away was certainly Earth!
