Ami's POV.
"What? A coward ass? How dare you call your boss like that?" He growled at me.
"I should go out. Just call me if you're done with your dinner Alex." I was about to walk away from them when someone shout.
"NO ONE WILL LEAVE!" Everyone looks at Alex who growled while bowing his head. He even slightly panting. "We'll talk later but for now calm yourself. Understand?"
He then left all of us there hanging there. Nathan look startled, Timothy run with him as well at Theodore, maybe to calm him down. Cody went out as well after Theodore left the kitchen. Kyle and Brian Went after Cody.
I sigh and sat on the high stool and sigh. "I'm sorry." I apologize as Nathan went to me and sat beside me.
"I can't say it's okay because of what happened. You hit the spot." I look at him after he said those words. "What do you mean I hit the spot?" He just shrug his shoulder and went out of the kitchen.
That night I can't sleep. I didn't even know if they ate they're dinner because when I got out of my room earlier to check, everything was clean and the wares is in their right places. What happened earlier was running endlessly in my mind. It's my fault, I admit it, I must have been patient for a long time and should ignore what he was saying.
It's already midnight. I sigh and get up from my bed. I look at the glass of water I took from the kitchen and it's empty. All I did was to go back laying on the bed and sigh.
I tried to close my eyes and sleep but seems like my mind won't let me sleep in peace. Shit! Ami what is happening to you? It's so not like you. Stop thinking you stupid brain!
But as usual my mind wins so I get up again, grab the glass, wear my flip-flops and went out of my room. Probably they are already asleep.
I was just crossing the stairs when I stop and noticed a man sitting in the sofa, I couldn't say which of them is here because the living room is already covered in darkness, All I could see was the shadow of him sitting as it is illuminated on the floor by the moonlight from the window.
I sigh. I decided to go back to my room so I wouldn't disturb him but it was too late for me to do it because he already saw me standing near the stairs that made me shock.
He just ignored me and continued to climb up to the second floor of the house. I closed my eyes firmly as soon as he disappeared from my sight.
I went straight to kitchen to get some bottled water. I turned the lights on
and went to fridge, I should buy a big tumbler so I don't need to go out in the middle of the night. I was about to go to sink when a man who was on the living room earlier is now standing leaning on the open door. Because I got startled by his presence, the glass slip from my hand and break into pieces.
I hurriedly put aside the bottles and went down to pick the broken glass. The man went to stuff's room and came back with broom and dust pan. Thank God that I didn't hurt myself picking the broken glass.
"You okay?" Timothy asked me after putting the shards of glass in the trash can. "I'm alright." I said.
I took the broom and the dust pan from his hand and take it back to the stuff room. I went back to the kitchen and saw him standing next to the fridge. "Are you hungry?"
He look at me and shake his head. "You? Why did you do that? Why did you asked him that last night?" I squint my eyes. He's talking about what happened last night.
"I lost my patience, he's been picking on me." I said. "But i shouldn't have done that." I added. He went to the fridge and took the bottled of milk and drank it. "Did you know each other?" He asked after drinking the milk.
Instead of answering his question i smile weakly at him. I don't want to open this fucking topic with anyone. I promise myself I won't tell anyone.
"Silence means Yes." He stated and pointed to the doorway to the living room. Maybe he wants us to talk there so we can comfortably sit and talk.
I nodded and he let me go in first. I soon as I sat on the sofa, he went at the open window and inhaled the fresh air from outside. "Why are you still awake?" He smile and look at me after hearing my question. "I should be the one asking you that." He stated.
"Can't sleep." I stated and lean my back the the backrest. He then sat on the open window and sigh deeply. "I'm just killing time since I can't fall asleep."
"You okay?" My question hit the spot because he stiffened up. "You can't fall asleep not because you just want to kill time, I can see that there's something bothering you."
I yawn. Finally drowsiness visits me. "I should sleep, I need to go to the bank and also at the Town market tomorrow to buy some fresh meats."
I was about to walk to my room when he said something that made me falter.
"I'm not in the position to say this but what you said may break us apart. And it's starting."
He then walk away.
Morning came and I went to the Town's Market. As soon as I came back, the house felt so dull or maybe it's just me. Nathan and Brian was in the lower living room and watching action comedy movie. I even said hi and I'm glad they greeted me like nothing's happened.
I saw Cody in the dinning room with his music equipment but as soon as he saw me he turn down his laptop and equipments then went to the second floor. At the kitchen, I'm all alone, I don't know where the four guys is. Maybe they are still sleeping.
I went to the kitchen and put the groceries on the table so I can fix it in the fridge. I'm in the middle of thinking what should we eat for the day when Timothy's head pop on the close door, as soon as our eyes met i shifted mine on the other side and pretend that i didn't see him.
I didn't have enough sleep last night because of his words. And its repeating endlessly in my mind like a broken cassette radio.
"What's for our lunch?" He asked. How could he talk to me so casually while there's something going on. I can't believe this guys.
"Still thinking. What do you want?" I asked and my eyes is fix on the fridge. I heard his sigh. "Then I'll ask all the guy what they want."
As soon as he said that and leave, I felt relieved. I continue what I am doing while thinking our meal for lunch. I was about to go out of the kitchen to check if Timothy asking them what they want for lunch when Cody came and look at the fridge.
He went there and took a bottle of water and sat on the high stool chair. He place his phone on top of the table and look at it. I left him there to look for Timothy and i saw him on his phone. He's talking seriously, even Brian and Nathan was on their phone with their eyes focus on Nathan's phone.
Is there something wrong? Why are they so serious?
I wanted to ask them when i saw Alex hurriedly going down on the stairs. "Where's Theodore?" He Asked and worry was written all over his face.
"I didn't see him coming out of his room." Brian said. Kyle also went down hurriedly like Alex his face was also worrying.
"I don't know where he is." I said when Alex look at me with a question written in his eyes. "Shit. I shouldn't have let him..." Kyle didn't finish his words when a bottled of water was thrown at the floor forcefully. I look behind me and saw Cody raging in anger.
"I warned you yesterday but still you obeyed me." He said looking at me. Wait? What? What is happening. I look around and saw their attention was on me. "What are you trying to say?"
"Thanks to you, the situation is getting worst!" Cody shouted then walk out. I look at them, Brian went to me and caressing my back. Alex sigh and massage the bridge of his perfectly pointed nose. Tim who turn his phone immediately after Cody throws the bottle on the floor was already sitting and massaging his nape, Kyle went after Cody, Nate just stand there looking directly at me.
I look at Alex. "What is he saying?" All off them has a surprise look on their faces as I asked. Brian even stop what he's doing. "You don't know?"
"That's why I'm asking." I said. Nathan give his phone to me with a photo of Theodore with a girl sitting on the swing. Wait... This is also the play ground where he wanted to go. I zoom in the photo. "This is taken from yesterday?"
"Fortunately the reporter made your face blurry in that photo, otherwise there's something bad will happen to you." Nathan said. I gave back his phone. "What should i do?"
"Our manager is going here today. Maybe we can talk about this after lunch." Kyle said alongside with Cody. "He's still not opening the door even though I knock so many times." Cody said. He look at me. "Thanks to you and to your stupidity, Theodore is having a hard time."
"Cody stop it. This is not the right time to blame Ami." Alex said. I sigh and bow my head.
Thanks to you and to your stupidity... Those hurtful words.... I only sigh.
"I'll make some sushi for lunch. Ami go and rest, we'll talk about this later when Manager Earo arrives."
"No. I didn't do anything so why would I jailed myself in the room?. I'll help you." I said.
Before he protest, I went to the kitchen and prepare the ingredients for the sushi.
I want to go to my room today, to lock myself up but if i did that, it's like i admit that I made a mistake. Right? Theodore and I didn't do anything that day, we just talk about his friends.
I was going to take the nori on the cabinet where i put it when a hand grab my wrist and drag me out of the kitchen. I tried to pull my wrist from his but his grip was to tight for me to slink off.
"Let me go please. You're hurting me!" I shouted. Alex and Kyle was so shock to see me being dragged by Cody.
When we got to my room he then hold the doorknob and open it. He dragged me inside and locked us up. He even locked the door knob to make sure i wont go out. He then push me to the bed to make me stumble. I look at him with a confusing look on my face and saw him raging in anger.
Alex and Kyle who was shouting outside was knocking on the door endlessly, I can feel them panicking because of their voice.
"Alex said go to your room. Don't you dare go out until we tell you so. Just to remind you, You're just a mere maid here. You shouldn't obey what we're going to say, or what we're telling you to do!"
Tears run down to my face not because of fear but because of anger. He sigh violently and grab the chair in front of the study table and throw it on the cabinet.
"You see that?, If ever you put your feet out of this room, I'll slam you like that chair. Understand?" He warned. After he said those words, the door open, Alex and Kyle appeared with a concern on their faces.
Alex dragged Cody out of the room recklessly. I was about to go out when i remember what Cody said. Kyle let the door open and stay there watching me crying.
This is the first time someone lock me up with anger. This is the first time i saw a person raging like that and it scares me.
I continue crying. Why is this happening to me? Why? I didn't do something bad to them, to him but why it seems like they're angry at me?. First Theodore, when he told me that Cody was threatened by someone who's powerful, he look like he's blaming me, then here's Timothy said those words like i was the reason why they're breaking apart, then here's Cody who's from the very start was so angry at me.
Kyle eventually came inside the room and sat beside me. He then place his right hand on my right arm. Carefully caressing me. We stayed like that for a long time until i broke the silence between us.
"Can you tell me what is happening? I don't understand them anymore." I said or more like begged.
Kyle sigh. "If I could, i already told you but this matter is really serious. We should wait for our manager to get in here so he can tell you himself."
We stayed there like that. I tried to persuade him to go after Cody and Alex but he said that i need someone by my side. "Kyle am I bad?" I asked, he look at me and shake his head.
"All I can see is that you're fighting for your rights. You're not directly our maid or our personal assistant but a helper of Alex's Aunt to help us. I tried to convince them to be generous but they are stubborn so as a friend and a leader of this group..." I look at him and saw his eyes full of burdens.
"... I apologize for what they did. For what they told you. I apologize if they hurt you in any way. I'm really sorry, please forgive us." He said while looking at me sincerely.
I was about to take the box of tissues on the bedside table when he grab and give it to me. I took some of it and wipe my face. I even blow my nose before speaking.
"You're not the one who made a mistake here but I appreciate it." I said while wiping my nose. "But still I apologize."
"I remember now where I saw you but I won't tell you when was that." He said teasingly. I look at him shockingly. "So we really met each other?.." I frowned at him. "..but why are you not telling me when was that?"
Instead of answering my question he stand up and stretch his arms. "I should go to Alex and Cody. Tim texted me that it's getting worst. Cody refuse to listen to anyone."
Without glancing at me, he left my room. I go after him but before I could step out of my room, I stop and heard someone's voice
"Is she okay? As soon as i heard from Tim what happened here, I ended the meeting and went here." It was Theodore's voice. "Manager Earo came with me also."
"She's calm but i can't say if she's okay or not. Cody lock her up on the room. I couldn't stop him...." Kyle and Theodore's voice slowly disappear as they walk towards the living room.
I turn around and close the door of my room and slowly sat on the floor while leaning on it.
I look at my hands and it's still trembling from fear. I tried to stop it by holding it but i failed. Still shaking, I place my head on the top of my knees and hug myself.
It's hard to be alone while facing agony, no one to lean on, no one to talk to, no one was beside me, no one choose to be with me. I thought I'm used to it now but what happened today was really frightening.
Cody's anger was frightening. I sigh to calm myself but I failed. I remember his eyes full of anger like a monster who's ready to eat his prey, the way he slam the chair on the closet, the way he threw me at the bed made me trembling until now. My body was shaking tremendously.
I let myself on that position until everything turn black...
I woke up on the noise like beeping. I tried to open my eyes but eventually close it due to strong sunlight from somewhere.
"She's awake!" Someone shouted. I close my eyes and slowly open it. As soon as i can see everything, The first i saw wad Alex's face with worries written on it.
"Where am I?" I asked and look around. "Still in the mansion. Are you okay now?"
Without thinking and answering his question, I tried to get up, with his help, i got up successfully. I look around and saw my hands with a familiar thing on it. A dextrose?
I look around and saw a machine beeping. A machine from the hospital. "Wait for me here."
Alex went out of the room and shouted again, saying I'm awake.
In a matter of seconds, I can hear a running footsteps from the stairs like they're in a hurry. Alex get back at the room and wait for the guys to come. The first person to appear in front of me was Theodore and Timothy. Next was Kyle, Nathan and Brian.
"Should we call the Doctor who came last night to check up on her?" Brian asked. As soon as he said those he pull out his phone from his pocket and called someone.
I look around. "What happened?"
They all look at me unbelievably. I look at Alex. "Alex? What happened?"
He sigh and went to my side and sat on the chair, Timothy went to the Study table, Nathan is at the open window while Theodore was at the end of the bed sitting there.
"Yesterday after Kyle left your room, I came here in the hope of explaining and apologizing to you but the door was already close or should i say locked..." Alex said while looking at me. "I thought you're going to sleep or you want to be alone so we let you have your own time. As time passed by, Cody went to your room and knocked on your door but you didn't reply so he thought you we're sleeping. Then what make it strange was when Theodore called to wake you up but no one was answering. That made me panic. This incident was familiar to me because it happened before...." I rubbed my forehead because of what He's saying.
"... you're frightened yesterday and i thought it triggers you so you passed out. And my hunch is right, You passed out."
"Are you okay now?" Timothy asked worriedly. "The doctor will tell but I can say I'm fine."
I heard Nathan sigh. "That's good then. I panic when I heard you passed out last night."
I look at Theodore who was sitting at the end of the bed. "We'll go out." Alex said and all of them left except Theodore.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have go out with you that day and tell you those." He said. "It's okay Theodore. It's not your fault, i should be the one apologizing here. I'm sorry."
He smile and look at me. "I'm releasing an statement. The group wants me to admit that you're my girlfriend but i refuse. I want to tell them the truth, that we're friends."
My eyes widened after hearing his words. "Even Alex agreed?" He shake his head. "Of course he didn't. Even the company was on our Manager's side. I just need you to tell them to that we're friends."
I was about to speak when Brian appear in front of my doorstep with the female doctor. Theodore left with Brian. She checked me up and said I'm just exhausted and they told them to let me take some time to rest. I sigh.
As soon as the doctor leave Alex and Theodore didn't leave my side. There's Alex every minute asking me what i need, there's Theodore asking if I'm really okay. I sigh.
"Why? You need anything?" Alex asked.
"No. I want to do something." Theodore stand up from the couch that they place inside my room. "What do you want me to do?" I smile.
"No. I can do it myself." They look at each other then both of them shake their head.
"I need to take a bath." I stated shyly. Their eyes got bigger, Alex shift his head to avoid my eyes while Theodore bow his head.
"You guys can leave me. I'm alright. Later I'll cook dinner..." Alex was about to hesitate but I cut him of by grabbing his arms. "... And i won't take no for an answer."
Before I could go down my bed another guy is standing on the door, looking at me with a serious face.
"Can we talk? Amethyst."
