In the hospital
The doctor said she wasn't hurt, and just got startled a little.
"Miss. Ling, I'll bring you home," as Bai Bing saids.
"Can I go to the restroom first?" as Ling Xu looks down at her hands, and clothing.
Bai Bing walked with her to the bathroom and waited outside.
Even though Ling Xu was wearing a black hoodie, she could feel Zhang Xin's blood on it. She washes her hand as the red blood runs through the sink.
"Where is she?" as Fu Heng came to the hospital and saw Bai Bing.
Just then Ling Xu walks out the bathroom. Bai Bing walks up to her, and asks if Ling Xu's okay.
Ling Xu didn't say anything, and seems to be zoned out.
"Xiao Xu? Xiao Xu," Mei Yi called out for her and quickly ran up to her. The police called Mei Yi, and told her to come to the hospital.
Ling Xu looked up and saw Mei Yi.
Her eyes started to get watery as she saw Mei Yi.
"Xiao Xu, are you hurt?" as Mei Yi worryingly looks at Ling Xu and checks on her.
Ling Xu didn't say anything. She walks up to Mei Yi and throws a hug on Mei Yi.
"Mei Yi, I want to go home," she saids with tears rolling down her eyes.
Mei Yi hugs her as she feels that Ling Xu is very hurt.
"We'll bring you back home," as Bai Bing saids to Mei Yi.
Mei Yi nods, and holds on to Ling Xu's hand. As they head out the hospital, Fu Heng watches them go.
"I want you to look up something for me." Fu Heng closes his phone, and walks out of the hospital.
That night, Mei Yi didn't ask Ling Xu anything. Mei Yi watches Ling Xu fall asleep, and quietly leaves the room. In the hospital today, Mei Yi finds the policeman very familiar. But she can't remember where she saw him.
The next morning
Ling Xu woke up at 8am, and everything seems like it's back to normal. Ling Xu doesn't bring up about what happened yesterday, and quietly eats her breakfast.
"Xiao Xu, what are you planning to do today?" as Mei Yi asks her.
"Today I'm going to the law firm, and planning to hand over the company to Li Nian."
Li Nian was Xiao Xu's childhood friend, and also her father's left hand man.
Mei Yi nods. She knows that whatever Ling Xu does has her reasoning to it.
In the law firm, the process didn't take that long. Li Nian looks at Ling Xu. "I won't let your parents down," as Li Nian saids.
Ling Xu smiles and nods.
Ling Xu felt like she could finally breathe. All those rocks inside of her have finally released.
Ling Xu stops by an open art gallery.
Ling Xu is an artist herself, and she would go to an art gallery every week. But ever since her parents passed away, she hasn't gone to one for so long.
Today she decides to go to one. Ling Xu walks into the art gallery, and the smell of Art seems to awaken the soul inside of Ling Xu.
Ling Xu stops in front of an art that is a painting of a sunset.
"You find this familiar right?" a woman says as she walks up to Ling Xu.
Ling Xu turned around and saw someone that she thought she wouldn't be able to see anymore.
"Auntie Fu?"
The last time that Ling Xu saw her was when she was five. They day that they left B City and went out of state.
"Ling Xu, how have you been?" as Fu Jing Mei asks with a caring eyes.
Ling Xu smiles. "Everything is going well."
Fu Jing Mei knows that Ling Xu isn't telling the truth, but didn't plan to say it. She takes Ling Xu's hand, and looks at the painting on the wall.
"Do you remember this painting?" as she asks Ling Xu.
Ling Xu nods. "This painting was painted by me and Fu Heng."
This was the first and last painting that was painted by both of them before they departed. Even though Fu Heng was five years older than Ling Xu, Ling Xu loves to hangout with him. But she doesn't show that when she's with him.
This was the first painting that she ever did, and it was with Fu Heng.
"Ling Xu, the last time I heard from your mom, she said you're in an Art academy right? How is it going?"
Ling Xu gives a bitter smile. "Ever since my parents passed away, I've quit going to the art academy."
Fu Jing Mei kept her hand on Ling Xu's. "Xiao Xiu, you still have us," as Fu Jing Mei says and she caresses Ling Xu's face.
Fu Jing Mei then thought of something.
"My place right now is hiring an art teacher to help teach little kids how to paint and draw. Xiao Xu, are you interested in helping me?" Fu Jing Mei says while looking at Ling Xu.
"Could I? I mean I haven't touched a paint brush for four years," Ling Xu says.
Fu Jing Mei gives a warm smile. "Of course. I trust in your skills."
"How about we start this Friday?" as she saids.
Ling Xu nods, and agrees to help out.
For the rest of the day, Ling Xu stays at the art gallery and helps out Fu Jing Mei with organizing.
"Thank you for helping me out today," as Fu Jing Mei says and hands a cup of water to Ling Xu.
"It's nothing. I won't have anything to do if I'm home, so I'm happy that I can help out."
"You're such a good girl. I wish I can have a daughter like you, but instead I have a son who doesn't listen."
"Who doesn't listen?" as a voice calls.
Ling Xu recognized that voice.
"Who else is my son," as Fu Jing Mei saids it jokingly.
Ling Xu looked at Fu Heng, and didn't know what to say. She suddenly remembered how she first saw him yesterday, and he's here again.
"Xiao Xu, do you still remember who he is?" as Fu Jing Mei asks.
Ling Xu can never forget that face. The person that made her cry two days and two nights after the day he left B City. She thought that she'll never ever get to see him again. But her father came to comfort her that Fu Heng will come back, and that they can always phone call. But that never happened.
Ling Xu nods.
"Fu Heng."
Fu Heng's face came across a warm smile. "I'm five years older than you, and you're the only one that dares to call me by the full name."
He's right. There's no kid that dares to call him by the full name. The day Ling Xu met him, she called him by his full name. But surprisingly he wasn't mad or upset, and in fact he loved it.
