Chapter 2 - A New Life

Chapter -1

Part-1 | A New Life

"Awe – look at his face . He's so cute . He will be a great son."

Those are the few words I first heard. I could see a beautiful woman, beautiful long hair, sweet smile. Next to her was a middle aged man around 25 or maybe 30. I remember that sweet smile he had , that face which clearly showed the fatherly love.

After few years or so I learnt that my father was a well known mage in the society and my mother was an amazing artist and I was th Aaron.

Ever since I was a kid I was different than other. Being able to remember such things right after birth was not normal. For a while it felt nice, It felt good to be different. I felt powerful but soon it turned into a curse. In the world I was in to be able to remember such things were only attributed to demons. I slowly started to notice how people looked at me, hatred, fear and sorrow.

My friends slowly distant themself from me.I did feel saddened for a while but my father and mother always cheered me up.

I was around 12 years old when I first heard my parents quarrel. I went downstairs , and stood beside the closed door leaning close to hear what they were talking about. I was curious but I was also careful not to alert them as I was supposed to be asleep.

"No – he is not , there is absolutely no way he can be", I heard my mom scream.

" I understand why you are saying this, but he is no ordinary kid", dad replied.

"B-But he's our son how could you even think of him being a demon", mom argued

I was taken aback when I heard that.

" I am not saying he is but if he turns out to be a demon, what will you do ?" father explained.

" So what do you plan we do?" my mom added.

" I'll take him to the great gate ,I will prove that my son is not a demon but a gifted boy who will soon be a even greater mage " –My father exclaimed

Hearing this I was shocked. I slowly ran up to my room making sure they don't hear me me. Yes I am no ordinary kid, I can climb high mountain with ease , I have a super amazing memories , and I also can work out some magic, but I never termed it as demon like.I certainly noticed that many people seem to attribute my powers to that of demons but i am not a demon.

As I kept on thinking suddenly it dawned on me,"what happens if I really am a demon?", how would the people treat my parents? I was certainly wise enough to know that if I really turned out to be a demon my parents would be toured , and hated by all for giving birth to demon. I couldn't help but think of options, the arrow if so I had heard correctly form my friends kills any and everyone who are inside the gate.

I fell asleep knowing that I had no where to run and hoping to prove my father that I was not a demon.

The following day I work up to my father's call. He told me to pack my bags and he said we are leaving. I was half asleep, not knowing what was to come and where we were headed. I packed my bags. The carriage was loaded and just as I sat down in the carriage I remembered the last night and timidly asked my father whether we were going to The gate or somewhere else? My father looked surprised, maybe just thinking how I found out. He replied yes , he also added soon after that it was not good to eavesdrop conversation, Somethings are better when remained secret. I bid my crying mom goodbye not knowing if I shall ever come. My father remained silent the whole trip to the gate, and was super tensed, maybe because there are high level magical creatures in the way. At least that what I told myself , I didn't want to know what he was thinking of.

Soon I fell asleep .

It was around 7 hours of ride I felt this weird eerie feeling, as if there this force attracting me to it. I could make out a force field of magical barrier. The gate became visible as soon as the force field was crossed. It was huge and tall and felt like it extended for ever towards the sky. It had this weird shining light coming from around it and was beautiful the life energy was so majestic it overflowed the surrounding. As we grew closer the gate was clearer. It was really tall taller than seen before, tall and wide, wide enough to fit thousands or even millions of demons .

Even tho it was enormous and unmissable it felt like those who don't look it could not find it maybe because of that force field. My dad stopped the carriage and he told me to carry the bag. For some reason his tone was little rude than usual , maybe because hes tensed whatever it was it made me feel uneasy.

"we walk from here the horses should not continue any further" said my father.

He carried his sword and told me to follow him quietly. The area was full of amazing enormous creatures but non really looked dangerous. Yet I still followed him quietly hoping he say why we were being so quite.

The gate was about 200 meters from where we stood. My father stopped and made a small tent near the trees as I stood quietly. He told to me get inside the tent and so I did. My father then told me all about the gate and how only one person should enter and all about the story of the great blood demon dying inside those. He then gave me a sword , from what I can tell it was freshly forged.

"Take it, it's for you" my father said.

Getting a sword from someone is considered to be really honored but this time it was more like why? Why do I have to be given a sword in this condition ? After eating some soup my father made I left the tent. For the first time I saw my father cry although the outcome was not decided it was unsure if human who ever went to the gate ever survived going to the gate was considered to be a suicide mission and from the what I could tell my father was ready to kill himself if I was not to return.

I faced front holding in my tears , I couldn't look at my father's cry for it was too unbearable. I continue to walk towards the gate and after few minutes fog overtook the entire area. I was scared and wanted to turn back but I continued further.

The gate was in front of me and it slowly opened . I walked in.

Suddenly it fell dark and before I could react the world around me faded the last thing I remember is seeing was a flash of bright light before I lost my consciousness.
