With a smile he sat back and relaxed, now he was sure that it was not a test from the village chief, because if it was then he wouldn't have been able to produce sparks.
'There is something unique about my body... But why is it?' There were questions in his head however, there was no answer.
As he was contemplating more, he also replenished his mana while doing so. After filling his body with mana he realised another thing, that this time mana in his body was slightly greater and slightly more condensed than the previous time.
He took out the paper and on the last paragraph, he got an explanation. 'Amount and Quality of Mana increases as one continues to train.'
"At least something on this paper is worth reading.' With a smile, he folded the paper and placed it on a wooden shelf in his small room.
"Let me try to produce FireHand again." He raised his hand slightly and was about to release some mana from his hand, suddenly the wooden door rattled.
It broke his concentration and he looked towards his door. 'Looks like mom has returned.' He stood up and came out of his room and he could see his mother coming in with a small cloth bag and a haggard face.
"What happened? Why do you look so pale? Is it a fever?" Feran quickly moved towards his mother and took the bag from her, placing it away he looked at her with a frown.
"Sigh..." She looked at Feran and tears filled her eyes. "Aunt Peri was murdered today..." She said and started sobbing.
"Aunt Peri..." Feran's eyes widened in shock and he backed up a step. He remembered Aunt Peri, she was the only healer in their town, and she was the age of his mother.
Both his mother and aunt Peri were childhood friends and grew up with each other, now her being murdered so suddenly placed both Feran and Roe in shock.
"Murder..." Feran murmured and remembered how Village Chief got called back in the middle of their classes.
'Could that be the reason village chief went pale?' He thought and started moving towards the kitchen, reaching there he took a wooden cup and filled it with water. He then brought the cup to his mother.
"Mom, sit down on the chair and drink some water..." He tried to calm his mother down, however, she kept sobbing.
With some effort, he was able to make her sit on the chair and then placed the cup in front of her. "Mom please drink some water and don't worry about food, I will cook some, you should just rest."
Feran's heart was beating at a rapid pace seeing her mother's condition, last time he saw her like this when his father left and he never wanted to see her in this condition again, but here she was.
As he saw her not stopping, tears also started to form in his eyes. "Mom..."
Roe looked at his son and seeing tears in his eyes realised what she was doing, quickly wiping her tears she drank the water and then stood up. "Don't worry about dinner and thanks for the water. But can you go and get some flowers from the forest?"
Feran also wiped his tears and nodded, he then moved out of his house, he knew that his mother would cry behind his back but there was nothing much he could do. He had to let her mourn her friend's death.
He moved out of the farm and thought about how the twins smiled when the village chief's face got pale.
'Are those twins behind the murder?' Gulping his saliva he started to run towards Mo's house, reaching there he saw Mo sitting outside his farm, there were tears in his eyes too.
Mo then looked at Feran and wiping his tears quickly came out of the farm. "Did you hear the news?"
Feran nodded at his question.
Mo then sighed, "It's so sad. My mother has been crying since she reached home, Dad has tried to calm her down but she just won't stop. Who could have done something so cruel to miss Peri? She was such a humble lady." Mo said in a sad tone.
Feran looked at Mo for some time and then opened his mouth slowly. "I think I know who could have done it."
Mo raised his brows at Feran's words and looking at him he also understood who Feran is referring to. "But they are just kids like us... How could they?" Mo can't understand how two kids that have just awakened and not been in this village for even a week could kill someone. "And what could be the reason? Why do they need to kill miss Peri? She was a nice lady and would help anyone in need. Why would they kill miss Peri?"
Feran listened to Mo and took in a deep breath, he was not sure of the reason too. He doesn't know the motive of the twins behind the murder of miss Peri. However, he had a strong gut feeling that Emer is somehow connected to the murder of Miss Peri. "I don't know what is the reason? And it's only just a hunch, I am not even sure that they are behind this. I think we should tell the village Cheif about this."
"Are you crazy? What would you say to the village chief that the two kids that have barely awakened have killed miss Peri? And did you forget what happened in the morning? The village chief will think that we are trying to frame the twins."
Feran turned silent and nodded at Mo's words, he was right, after what happened in the morning, Village Cheif will definitely think that they are trying to frame the twins.
"However, I have to tell about this to the village chief, no matter if he thinks I am framing the twins, I can't take such a big risk, I can't let other villagers life fall in danger."
Mo placed his hand on Feran's shoulder, "I don't think it's a good idea to blame the twins over a hunch. Them smiling could mean anything, both of them are weird."
Feran narrowed his eyes and looked at Mo, "Don't try to stop me, if you don't wanna come then go home, but no one will stop me now."
