The wedding went by without a hitch.
Even the reception ran smoothly.
All eyes were on Chantal and Henry.
The newlyweds went around the room, giving toast to every table and taking pictures with them.
The guests were enjoying the activities, signing the book with well-wishes, dining, conversing with old and new friends, and participating in the games.
It was towards the end of the program when Chantal was suddenly feeling queasy, taking the attention of everyone in the event.
Beatrice and Leah, who were always at her side, passed her the bucket right away, to which Chantal dumped all the food she ate. "Belchhhh"
"Ahhh"
"What happened to her?"
"Is she okay?"
"Is it something she ate?"
They eyed their plate with fear.
Everyone in the hall was worried about her condition.
The emcee realized that a commotion is about to ensue. He had to distract them,.
"Everyone, looks like their special person doesn't want to be left out of the fun anymore." The emcee laughed. "Ms. Chantal, may I?"
After wiping her lips, Chantal giggled amidst the situation. She nodded.
Everyone stopped what they were doing. Their eyes t
"I have an announcement to make on behalf of the newlyweds. Today we are not only celebrating their new chapter as husband and wife. The new Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ward will become soon-to-be parents!" The emcee announced.
"Wha--?! Oh my gosh! Congratulations!"
"Cheers!"
"A toast to the soon-to-be parents!"
"Good job Henry!"
"Congratulations to the grandparents!"
Everyone was congratulating Chantal, Henry, Osmond, Vanessa and the grandparents.
Their friends were already calling dibs on being the child's godparent.
"Congratulations." Diana and Lucas also went to congratulate the couple.
To which Chantal and Henry happily received the congratulations.
Although, at the back of Chantal's mind, she was satisfied that Diana now knows Henry is totally hers. Through and through.
Henry, on the other hand, still feels a little bitter that Diana actually brought Lucas. He is still not convinced that Diana is really in a relationship with that man.
For the years that he has known Diana, he still can't believe that she would be in a relationship with somebody even without being wooed for months first.
It was specially irksome for him, how Lucas was being touchy-feely with Diana, even giving her smooches every now and then.
On the side, Osmond and Vanessa were blissfully happy that the wedding went successfully. All of their acquaintances praised how grand the wedding and the reception were.
They were also relieved that Diana didn't cause a scene. They are almost convinced that Diana has finally moved on from Henry.
However, they are still questioning Diana's boyfriend's identity.
They have tried investigating the man but for some reason, the information was not a lot. The name Lucas Ingram was common. There were a lot of bookstore owners, businessmen, and regular employees with that name too.
They would never think to connect the name to the Lovell and Forrest Family.
Because of this, they are contemplating setting up a blind date for Diana in the future.
"Tired?" Lucas asked Diana when they're already in the car. Kyle Murphy was driving for them as Lucas had a little drink in the event.
"Hmm.. It's been a long day." Diana replied.
"Rest up well tonight." Lucas said, squeezing her hand.
Diana nodded.
She dozed off on the way to her apartment. Lucas had to carry her up to her unit and rang the doorbell.
It was a good thing that Heather was in. She was able to open the door for them.
She even showed Lucas to Diana's bedroom and helped Diana get changed.
When Lucas was about to kiss Diana goodnight, Diana, held him down and told him to stay in her drowsy voice.
Lucas's breath caught in his throat, he looked towards Heather.
To which, Heather only made an 'OK' sign and left the room.
She has met Lucas several times before this night and has already trusted him.
Lucas took off his shoes and made a quick call to Kyle, instructing him to leave and bring him a change of clothes in the morning, as well as his grooming kit.
The driver, Kyle, did as was told and left.
Since Lucas doesn't have a change of clothes ready in her apartment, he took off his suit and pants, leaving only his boxer shorts.
He climbed in quietly into her bed and on instinct, Diana cuddled closer to him, using his arm as a pillow and breathing his scent. She felt relaxed in his embrace.
It took a lot of willpower in Lucas to not wake up Diana and do something else instead of sleeping.
He only gazed at her sleeping [pface until his own eyes began to tire and close to sleep.
Hours later, Diana's hand roamed, She was feeling too hot. Her brows knitted together as she tried to remember whether she changed her clothes when they came back.
Her eyes fluttered open, as she checked herself whether she was still wearing her dress or not. She wasn't. In its place are silk pajamas.
Her knitted brows relaxed. As she lifted her head, her nose bumped into smooth skin. She gasped.
Muscular abdomen that looked to have been sculpted by an expert. But most of all, the owner of such body was sleeping peacefully beside her. Her head was resting against his arm. She tried to move but he pulled her close to him instead. His hand traveled from her back to her waist, and lingered on her buttocks before it traveled to her thigh, and stopped at her calf. He pulled it and made it rest on his hip, effectively having her plastered to him.
She gasped, covering her mouth. She was afraid to let him know that she was awake. She didn't feel ready yet.
Her heart beat madly. Then realization hit her.
'No. This is way too impossible. There's no way he would be on the same bed as me. This must be a dream. I know last time was a dream. This one is the same as well. There's no way. I must have been too tired that I'm having wild dreams now. Forget it, this is too impossible. When I wake up, I would be alone on my bed. Although, this dream is rather nice. I can feel, and smell him.'
She closed her eyes, drifting back to sleep.
