Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Potential Energy |Ignis|

First Universe Troy and I chose to check was 13, apparently a city that's a Japanese version of another. According to Thawne that is.

Troy was constantly aloof, but I suppose that's natural. This place has no Daemons, Skags or anything at all.

"Artist house tour, on a campus, potential candidate," Troy says in the most obnoxious voice he can.

"Potential waste of time," I muttered, but followed him regardless.

I unfortunately couldn't leave the dumbass behind.

————————

"This is one of her finest works-," I spaced out during the presentation, noticing a man being horribly inconspicuous.

At least, trying to be. Troy unfortunately was too curious about the art and culture of this place, surprisingly, considering his past but it was genuine curiosity nonetheless.

Eventually the man bumped into a kid.

His eyes are very narrow. He seems very sinister. I don't know what it is, but his eyes are unnatural and I swear to Lynx the left side of his glowed.

"Is there a problem sir?" The tour guide spoke making me realize she was speaking to him.

"No, no problems here. Continue," he spoke his accent evident but not thick.

He scoffs, his mutter barely audible.

"Stupid children in an art gallery of all places," before we all continued the tour.

————————

The tour ended, and unfortunately I couldn't find the man afterwards. He must of took off elsewhere.

"So much for a potential candidate," I grumbled.

"I don't know pretty sure you were checking out a guy-,"

"He was looking for something Troy, he was messing with the furniture,"

"Guy looking for some hidden room?"

"Yeah... his eyes were unnatural and one side of his face flowed for a split second I swear,"

"Hold on wait those guys know Obake?!" A voice yelled.

"Shit," I growled.

"I'm sorry who?" Troy asked.

"Oh uhh, my buddy thought you said something-," a boy held the other muffling him.

"We can talk in an alley, better than out here," I sigh.

"Yeah no thanks-," a girl says who very likely is in her emo phase.

"Your scans indicate a high amount of Iron and Nitroglycerin in your friends system and must seek medical assistance," a robot spoke and pointed out Troy.

"Isn't Nitroglycerin highly combustible?" A man in a green sweatshirt says.

"Like my friend not the plac-," I grabbed Troy by the hood and ran.

They followed us not too far behind, the boy and the robot the farthest from us.

I cut into the maze of alleyways. Then into an open warehouse.

A man sat in a chair reading something.

The same person from the tour.

"I'm surprised you found this place," he turned to face me and Troy before a small platform rises next to him with a button.

A red suit with rockets flew in with a boy on it's back.

"Obake!" The boy shouted.

"Oh good, I'm not wasting this then," he says before pressing a button trapping them all in a steel container with a pipe attached at the top.

"So, while they are escaping, you two follow me," he says walking towards a door.

"How do you know they will get out?" I ask unsure I want to leave them trapped in a box.

"Because I've been watching them," his face glowed a moment before he left out the door.

Troy shrugs and follows him. Pausing a moment to press the button again before we both left.

—————=-=-=-=-=—————

........ow.

What...

Where are we?

Oh right. Weird ketchup throwing robot.

I found myself strapped to a chair next to Troy. I had to squint due to the floodlights facing us.

A very large computer sporting 20 large monitors and multiple high end PC's stood behind a desk, and a man next to a chair and the light. Obake turned it off.

"Wouldn't want to damage your sight," he chuckled before sitting in the chair leaning forward.

"Good you're awake, now tell me why your friend is combustible?" Obake hummed as he messed around with a notebook.

"We aren't from here, from another dimension," I answered truthfully, being in bounds made of steel meant he knew what he was doing, best not to lie.

"Alright that clears that bit too then," he muttered.

"Why are you two here?" He turns to us.

"We are Clash Corps Representatives looking for soldiers or just help in general to save the universes existence because without this one person staying alive we are all fucked," Troy answered proudly.

Did he really just say that?

Obake raised an eyebrow before walking towards Troy and grabbing his face.

"He's sounds to way confident to be lying... hold on is he high? He looks to me simultaneously making Troy do the same, Obake holding as much concern and curiosity. If I didn't know Troy I'd think he's high too to be fair.

"Gods I wish he was," I sigh shaking my head earning a glare from Troy.

"IGNIS YOUR AN- mrmpf," Troy attested to yell at me and was muzzled like a dog.

"Hmm," Obake released Troy's face after muzzling him. His face scrunched up into a face that can only be labeled as indescribable, yet I understood what he was thinking. He sat down in the chair once more. His hands in a prayer position but against his face His brows furrowed.

"So let me, get this straight," He says pointing to us with his hands.

"You both are trying to gather soldiers for some army to fight another army trying to end the world while simultaneously trying to prevent a death that will destroy the world even though you two have no idea who is the anomaly in this system?" He asked.

"No, in a mind of someone, I know how messed up that sounds but if you release me I can show you using that," I clarified pointing to the computer with what little motion I could,"

He scoffed and opened his mouth but before he could speak I interjected

"Or we can remain, silent," I looked to Troy at the last part.

Troy shook his chain bound hands.

"Very well," he shrugs releasing me from my metal cuffs.

I walk to the computer ignoring Troy as I plugged in the Hydra.

The screen went from green to blue as data begins being transferred.

"Read the files of what we have so far," I motion to the computer.

I mockingly give Troy a thumbs up while mouthing "candidate".

I put up with his sorry ass for too long so this was revenge.

"I notice you have no tech," He says.

"Yes, we do need one pretty soon," I sigh.

"So you're leaving us?" A girl with a beanie walked forward her arms crossed.

"...I'm not sure," He answers.

"So you're still considering going!" She walks off in a huff.

"Trina wait-," a door slams.

"You don't have to move an inch," Troy says who had burned his bindings off.

"What do you mean?" He asks.

Oh right.

"We are looking into establishing safe spaces across the universes as well, here might work," I say looking around.

"Internet satellites don't reach far, and I'll need something in exchange, I never did say I agreed," Obake sighed.

"What is it you need?" Troy says crossing his arms.

"A stable infinite power source," he says pointing to the Hydra.

"That's not how it works," I say but he walks too close.

He will now see why we need soldiers, While we will see what his traits are.

A danger we weren't prepared for in the least.
