"Please" Justine pleads for the fifth time, she's obviously really bad at keeping her curiosity at bay. After we left the cafe yesterday, Noelle kept calling our phones but of course we didn't answer her calls. so we haven't been able to find out what happened between Jace and Noelle after we left. And now in the cafeteria at lunch Noelle doesn't want to tell us because she's pissed at us for leaving and also for not answering her calls, to which we lied unremorsefully that we didn't see.
"Not until you tell me why you left the cafe just like that" Noelle counters
"Isn't it obvious already? it's what we were planning all these while" I jumped in, gesturing with my right hand. Justine nods at my words.
"I thought so, I just wanted to hear it straight from the horse's mouth" Noelle admitted, then continued "you see, he is a really kind guy, sorta shy, cute and handsome and..."
she started dreamily until Justine snapped all of a sudden "will you just please go straight to the point, my friend?
"Okay, okay" Noelle sighs sadly then continued, we didn't talk much, we just were polite around each other and I couldn't figure out if he likes me or not.
"So 1500 dollars and 700 dollars equals 2200 dollars gone to waste, but still babe don't worry Rome wasn't built in a day, a couple of trial won't hurt, just keep on trying, we are here for you" Justine said trying to console her.
DO NOT CRY OVER SPILLED MILK... I thought to myself, disappointed that our plan didn't work as we wanted, I stood up and started pacing, thinking of other things to make Jace like Noelle, or perhaps announce that he likes her, but suddenly Noelle's yell pulled me out of my thoughts.
"What the fuck did you spend 2200 dollars on"
Amongst the three of us, Noelle is the very least who likes to waste money, we three are from wealthy families and so money is not a problem but she dreads spending money unnecessarily, while Justine is the extravagant spender and I am just in between the two.
"Why did hell did you yell like that?" Justine side-eyed her, even though she knows the answer already.
"Why won't I scream?" she then turns to face me "Tiff what's the 2200 dollars about?"
"Didn't Justine tell you everything already?" I asked, now remembering that she was supposed to have been in on the cafe plan.
"Tell me everything?" she asks now facing Justine, but then Justine faces me
"I only told her we were planning to set her up with Jace, I didn't go in on the details.
"Oh, I thought you told her everything"
"I didn't" she goes radio silent
"Will somebody say something"
"Do you remember that the cafe was so full yesterday, more than usual?" I asked, but didn't let her answer then continued " well we were responsible for that, we booked the cafe at 1500 dollars, then paid 70 random students 50 dollars each, which is 2200 dollars in total" I explained.
"All for me?" she said with misty eyes
"Of course, what is 2200 dollars compared to what you mean to us" Justine responds this time.
"Aww, I love you guys so much"
"We love you too" Justine and I replied at once.
I looked at my wristwatch, and at the same time the bell rings out
"We better get going to P.E class" Justine says excitedly, even though she wasn't excited about P.E, but the fact that the three of us take it together.
At the school gym...
I changed to my P.E outfit way before Noelle and Justine because while I was changing they were chit-chatting, so after I was done I told them to meet me at the bleachers, where Jasmine and I are currently seated waiting for them before the class starts.
"I have a boyfriend now Tiff" Jasmine faced me smiling.
"OMG, so you had someone you liked, and I didn't know?" I queried
"I thought he didn't like me back, until..." she blushed and didn't complete what she was saying
"So who's the lucky guy?" I asked half curious and half excited for her
"Ryan Anderson" she stated still blushing
"Wow, you sure are lucky girl" I said. Ryan is the combination of smart, handsome and rich. Jasmine is also a hot girl guys run after in the school but if anyone told me she and him would ever be an item I definitely would argue. But then again one can't predict the future.
"Yeah" she smiles then looked ahead, and around, sighted someone then tapped me "there he is" I looked towards where she was looking at then saw a group of five guys seated across the gym. Ryan Anderson, Joshua Bassett, Joshua Bailey, Pete Lewis and Jace Urrea.

My head processed that information again not because the name sounds strange to me but because of the fact that the owner of that name who I was staring at, at the moment was nothing but an angel in disguise. Even to me it sounds cheesy, but I just can't help it. He was laughing slightly at something Ryan who was seated beside him was saying, hands running through his hair, eyes sparkling, dimples on display. I realized at that very moment, I was in too deep. I have a crush on someone my best friend has a crush on.
I finally quit staring at him, looked at Jasmine to see if she caught me staring at Jace, but luckily for me she was already pressing her phone, I heaved a sigh. Wondering what was wrong with me, Jace is someone I am trying to match with my best friend and I am here feeling funny stuffs about him.
It must come to an end, I thought to myself. It must. And for that to happen I must get Jace and Noelle together as soon as possible. And with that my energy was renewed.
