Chapter 6 - Revelations

We have stayed in the duchess's home for a month now. I honestly forgot her name several times. The memories of my past life have showed me I must understand fear. It is not that fear is a weakness. It is that if you feel fear and still press on you have conquered it. After this understanding my power developed even more. I could now control it with much more ease. In that month I killed a dragon, stopped a undead horde, and cured a plague disease.

The duchess at this point was practically worshiped Kane as a god. Hells according to some things she had heard from the city guards reports several people called him a god. She would honestly find it believable if he was one. However he never acts in anger, one man challenged him to a fight with nothing but plain freshly bought clothes. Even then he didn't kill the idiot of a man. He gave him pointers on his form. An S ranked adventurer given tips and beat in under 10 minutes. If he is not a god then I never want to meet one.

I sat in my room using magic to watch my city. Yes it was mine. No one could say anything about it. Except for the girl, the title of Hero or Heroine. That it troublesome, she seems to have great power. I spared with her and if she wanted to she could hurt me. I meditated on fear and rage as I thought. My power has become easier to control since accepting fear. I felt the power was from another source. I assumed it was a God's blessing, I remembered the time I saw a god descend in one of my past lives. I didn't like the idea of a gods or goddesses interference with my plans. It was then that my door opened. I cut my powers flow inside myself.

"Hello Kane, how are you?" said Sahara the heroine. I didn't look at her opening my eyes to the moonlight of the moon known as Earth. The world I lived in before this one. I was going to be a hero to save both worlds. Instead I died after being assassinated. I read about the earth and the few memories he has from that life. I didn't speak as she approached.

"I am meditating you interrupted" I said in a soft voice as I though of my past lives that I could remember. My power is entirely mine. The power of hundreds of horrid lives I have lived. The heroine sat next to me as I remembered her arrival to the city.

It was midday as the hero was welcomed by the duchess. A feeling I have never felt gripped my chest, love. The heroine was beautiful that day. Her flowing silver hair and am amethyst eyes sparkled. I needed to kill her. The title of hero was never given it was something you are born with. After learning of the status slates I didn't much care. After her though I checked mine in private. The title of hero increases all stats by twenty percent. Titles are rarely something one it born with. Because of this the heroine or hero is special.

I greeted her with the duchess as her court mage. A position earned after killing the dragon that attacked. I had my subordinates go off and find rare metals only keeping Narma with me. Sahara was humble and impressed by my Whitley to beat a dragon. I knew I felt love in the past lives but this felt different. That night I learned something after coming to terms with having to kill that beautiful woman.

Status

Race: High Human

Name: Kane

Titles: Defier of Death, Kin Eater, Dark Lord, High Human.

Active Abilities: Anti-Light Manipulation, Mana Manipulation.

Passive Abilities: Bonded Soul Mate Sahara, High Human.

I stared at that for several hours. Effects are passive abilities. I looked up souls mates and my rage boiled as I fought to keep my mind calm. Soul Mates are destined souls who when reborn in the same world. They somehow always fall in love and find each other. The Gods will pay. That was my only thought. I realized her eyes shared the same look as several of my past life partners. Even when poor we were happy. The power of the hero can combat my anti light to an extent. If she gives in I can change her title into a Dark Hero. I grit my teeth, I have a new goal. 'I will kill the gods who would do this to me, to my soul mate.' I had thought that.

The next day I spared with her. I considered killing her in the fight. I have never felt hesitation. I felt it that day, it wasn't weakness it was pain. We went out after that and I learned she grew up as the daughter of a poor village woman. She had a life of pain. If she hadn't been discovered at a hero she would have lived that horrid life. As a thanks to the gods I'll kill them quickly. She clearly didn't feel the same right away like me.

I came back to my senses as I looked at her next to me. She smiled after apologizing. Then I grabbed her throat with a blank face. I constricted her air flow as I forced my power into Sahara blisters appeared on her body and popped. Her eyes rolled into her head as I tried to force a transformation. I let my emotions flow into the girl. My blank face as I looked at her, I just looked at her. I know what I am doing, but I don't care. It's only the memories of someone I am not. Yet the heart is strong in its feelings.

Her body went still as a single tear fell from my eye. As I let go of her she fell to the ground. I looked at it as the single tear hit her corpse. As I got up I heard something moving, I turned around. Her body was repairing itself as I watched. Her hair became darker, her eyes sharpened. I didn't just inject her with my power. I gave her the memories of our past lives. I gave her my hate for fate. I gave her my love for her. And I gave her my drive for conquest. Her now healed body got up and looked at me. She smiled and walked to me with the grin of a predator as she held me.

"I will serve you, my Lord, my God, my Husband, my Everything" said Sahara into my ear. I smiled realizing it worked.

"Good, we have a world to conquer. And people to kill" I said smiling as I envisioned the world on its knees in fronting me.
