Chapter 32 - A Conversation at Night

After picking up trash for an entire day, the three returned with heavy steps.

Even though the altitude here was not that high compared with Hoh Xil, they were still tired from working the entire day.

Especially Jiang Anzhi, who had rushed here overnight and then had worked all day. When he took his mask off, they saw that his face was pale.

Jiang Anzhi did not say anything. He just leaned against the headrest of the seat when he got on the car and closed his eyes to rest.

Feng Lanzhu glanced at him and felt that something was wrong. She asked, "Are you okay? Do you feel unwell?"

Li Yue heard her and hurriedly turned around. "What's wrong? Is it altitude sickness?"

"I'm alright. My head hurts a little." Jiang Anzhi replied tiredly.

"Why didn't you say so just now? I have to call the director and get the doctor to make preparations back at the hotel."

"There's no need to go to that much trouble. I will be fine after some sleep." Jiang Anzhi pressed his long slender fingers against his brows.

"Being unwell when you are at high altitudes can be very serious. It is best to be careful." Li Yue took out his phone and called the director.

Feng Lanchu glanced at Jiang Anzhi, whose face was looking green. "Other than your headache, are you feeling any other discomfort?"

Jiang Anzhi shook his head lightly.

Feng Lanzhi took out a bottle of glucose from her bag. She opened the bottle and handed it to him.

"You will feel better after drinking some. I think your blood sugar levels are low."

"Alright." Jiang Anzhi took the glucose and drank it. When he put down the glass bottle, Feng Lanchu handed him a thermos bottle. He glanced at the camera in the car in a natural manner and said lightly, "I brought water with me."

He meant that as people of different genders, they should not behave so intimately in broad daylight.

Feng Lanchu rolled her eyes wordlessly. "What are you thinking. This is a thermos flask that will become warm when you shake it. It is a substitute for a hand warmer. I am just lending it to you to warm your hands."

Jiang Anzhi touched his nose awkwardly before pretending not to care and taking the flask. The warmth in his hand eased the piercing pain in his head. He sighed and closed his eyes, pretending to go to sleep.

Li Yue and Feng Lanchu did not speak on the drive back. They tried their best to give Jiang Anzhi time to rest.

The hotel had received news that Jiang Anzhi needed a doctor, and the staff was thrown into a frenzy. Everyone gathered in the hall nervously. At the end, when Jiang Anzhi returned to the hotel, he did not seem to be gravely ill other than for his slightly pale face.

"I am fine. Don't worry. "Jiang Anzhi assured the staff calmly.

The doctor gave Jiang Anzhi a checkup. After giving him two glucose bottles, the doctor instructed Jiang Anzhi to go back to his room to rest.

Meanwhile, the group cleaning up trash in Golmud City was still finishing their task. Because Jiang Anzhi was feeling unwell, the director allowed the group to wrap up their filming early and return to the hotel to rest.

They did not film that night, so Feng Lanchu returned to her room, glad to be free. She ate the meal sent up by the hotel and did a simple clean-up. She was about to lie in bed when someone knocked on her door.

She opened her door confusedly and saw Jiang Anzhi wearing a black hoodie. His hood was drawn over his forehead, and his face was pale and clear even without makeup on. Feng Lanchu hurriedly let him in when she saw him.

"What are you doing here?"

She heard that there were cameras in the celebrities' rooms that filmed them 24 hours. Fortunately, there were no cameras installed in the specialists' rooms. Otherwise, the cameraman might lose his mind when he saw Jiang Anzhi's sudden visit to her room.

Jiang Anzhi did not say anything. Instead, he just went to Feng Lanchu's bed and sat down.

"Are you feeling better?" Feng Lanchu could not help but ask in concern.

"Yep."

Golmud was the lowest place in the Qaidam Basin, with an altitude of about 2800 meters. No matter how severe one's altitude sickness was, they would get better on their own when transferred here. And even if it were an acute case of altitude sickness, there were experienced doctors here to help.

Feng Lanchu could verify this personally, and she could not help but complain, "I had altitude sickness the first time I went to Hoh Xil. I threw up everywhere and thought I was going to die. I spent a night in reserve and returned to Golmud with my tail between my legs the next day. I feel embarrassed thinking about it now."

Jiang Anzhi listened to her carefully, and a smile appeared on his thin lips. His eyes curved with a smile.
