JULIO, RAY, CHARLI, AND I walk to the lunch table.
"Yeah, I was at her house and I asked her but she friend-zoned me," Charli says as we all sit down to eat.
"I don't like the food," Ray complains.
"Where's Busk and ooh can I have your cheese sticks," Julio asks.
"Have it all."
"He has a lot going on," I say taking a bite of my sandwich.
Julio looks at me for a moment then looks away. I clear my throat because I do that when I feel uncomfortable. "So, after school, you guys wanna go to my house? I can't visit Busk right now and I don't have work so I'm free."
"Sure!" Ray says.
"I don't mind tagging along," Charli adds.
Julio pauses, "I can't have a date."
Does he still find it weird talking to me even though I said that I am not gay when he kissed me?
"With who," I ask.
"Jason McCall."
"You're gay?!" Charli says.
"Congradulations, man," Ray chimes in.
"Yeah," I agree, "Yeah, congrats, bro."
After school, I walk with them to my house. I see the yellow house parched as its heavy eyes staring at me with laughter with a little white Cadillac, a huge blue truck, and a black Dodge sits in their driveway all laughing at my face. Charli really wasn't lieing, I think to myself. I think I'm standing there way too long bcause Ray gives me a little push as I go home to Grmma.
