Chereads / Your Highness, Why Are You Being So Shameless? / Chapter 43 - Better than Being Found Out as a Fraud

Chapter 43 - Better than Being Found Out as a Fraud

Mrs Sandra's felt extremely agitated when Mr Romanov called her father and invited him to come to the Romanov mansion to resolve a problem created by his daughter.

She frantically wondered, 'No! How could this be? That man had assured me that no one could find out that the DNA result was fake! How did that bastard find out?'

Thinking about this, she tried to clear her head and said, "Andrew, don't you trust me? We have known each other since childhood! How could I give you a fake report? Besides, I had found myself pregnant right after the night we spent together! Maybe...maybe, they had made a mistake with the report this time?"

Hearing such shameless words, Azrael smirked and said, "So, according to Aunt Wilson, the report you produced earlier was right and this time as the report was produced by me, it must be a mistake made by the laboratory?"

Mrs Wilson clenched her hands into fists so tightly that her nails left their imprints on her palm.

She still pretended to be calm and said, "We can just do another DNA test to clear this misunderstanding!"

She planned to find that mysterious person and ask for his help once again. Though the chances of finding him were slim, it was still better than being found out as a fraud, specially in front of her elderly parents.

Azrael gave a cold smirk after hearing what Mrs Wilson said. He could more or less guess that wicked woman's intentions.

However, he had come fully prepared to confront this devious pair of mother and daughter.

"Alright! If that's what you wish! However, this time the process of DNA testing would be done transparently. We'll send our own people to keep a watch over the procedure, so that no one can tamper with the result! If you think that our people will rig the process, then you can send your people too! However please remember that the process will be under our constant watch.

In fact, I had anticipated something like this might happen! So, I already brought over some people to collect the DNA samples!"

Hearing Azrael's words, Mrs Wilson paled as her heart beat frantically in her chest.

If she could not think of a way to delay the process, how could she go and find the mysterious person for help? And even if she asked for that person's help, she was not confident as Azrael had announced that they would be keeping a watch over the process.

Unable to think of any way to get out of this outcome, Mrs Wilson decided to depend on Mr Romanov's emotions as childhood friends.

Taking this as her last resort, she knelt in front of Andrew Romanov and said, "Andrew, you've known me for so long! Do we really need to do all these?"

Mr Romanov looked at the woman kneeling in front of him and sighed feeling sorry for her. But he remained firm in his decision.

"Sandra, it's true that we have known each other since our childhood! But over the years you have changed so much, that I dare not believe that you're still that childhood friend!"

Reine saw that the table has been completely turned against them. She could only join her mother on the floor and with tears streaming down her pale face, she said, "Dad, why don't you trust my mom at all? Is it just that you don't want me as your daughter?"

Saying this, Reine burst into tears. Soon the mother and daughter started to make a scene in front of the servants in the Romanov mansion.

Though they appeared to be quite pitiful while kneeling and crying on the floor, no one tried to help them.

Mr Romanov sighed at the mess in his home. He could feel a headache coming when the doorbell rang.

Soon, a maid escorted old Mr and Mrs Wilson to the drawing-room.

When old Mrs Wilson had heard from her husband that Mr Romanov had asked him to immediately go to the Romanov mansion to fetch their daughter, her heart trembled in fear as she had long known about her daughter's obsession with Andrew.

Many times, she had reprimanded her daughter for being obsessed with a married man, but her daughter had always stubbornly replied, "Mom, it's my decision whether I like someone or not! If I can move his heart, then we too might be able to get married! You won't have any problem then, right?"

However, despite trying over the years, Sandra had never managed to affect the marriage between Andrew and Amelia Romanov.

When her daughter finally decided to get married to Reine's father, the heir of the Caruso family, old Mrs Wilson could finally put her heart at ease. She thought that her daughter had finally moved on.

However, soon after Amelia Romanov's disappearance, her daughter divorced her husband and declared that Reine was actually Mr Romanov's daughter.

When old Mrs Wilson heard this, she instantly had doubts about the information. After all, she had first-hand knowledge about her daughter's obsession as well as her nature. Old Mrs Wilson knew that her daughter, Sandra would never have given up the opportunity to marry into the Romanov family if she had already known about Reine being Andrew's daughter.

When she had confronted her daughter about this matter, she has just said that she had withheld this information for so many years because she had wanted to win over Andrew's heart without using their daughter as a chip in her plans.

Further, when Sandra had produced the DNA report issued by the Phillon National University, old Mrs Wilson felt that her daughter was speaking the truth. This was because, she knew that it was not easy to get a fake report issued by the Phillon National University as it was under the direct protection of the country's military, who carried out some secret research in the laboratory.

However, when old Mrs Wilson now heard that her daughter and granddaughter had caused a commotion in the Romanov Mansion, she realized that her earlier doubts might have been right.

She dared not confess her doubts to her husband as she feared that Old Mr Wilson might disown their daughter in anger for bringing about this humiliation over their whole family.

So, she could only accompany her husband to the mansion.

As soon as they entered the drawing-room, Old Mr and Mrs Wilson saw their daughter and granddaughter kneeling on the floor and sobbing pitifully.

Though the elderly people's heart ached at seeing this, they dared not confront Andrew Romanov about this matter, as they knew that although the Wilson family was rich, it was nothing compared to the Romanov family, which had been the most powerful family in their country for the last two hundred years.

Old Mr Wilson had a dark expression on his face as he asked Mr Andrew to recount the matter to him.

As old Mr Wilson had no idea about his daughter's actions over the years, he thought that they merely disagreed due to the differing DNA results.

He would have never imagined that his daughter had produced a fake report, so he confidently said, "This is a small matter to resolve. We can just get another test done! Sandra, why are you crying and humiliating yourself over this small matter? Azrael is right, we'll send our men to watch over the process. This will ensure that neither party has manipulated the results.

Mrs Sandra felt bitter as she saw her own father pushing her down the abyss.

Seeing the helpless look on her daughter's tear stricken face, Old Mrs Wilson knew at once that her doubts have been proved right! She could only blame herself for not reprimanding her daughter more strictly earlier when she had those doubts.

Reine sobbed and looked up at her grandfather, "Grandpa, even you don't believe mom? She's your own daughter!"

Hearing this, Old Mr Wilson frowned. As he looked at her daughter still kneeling and crying on the floor, he finally realized that his daughter might have done something wrong! Otherwise, why would she remain silent and instead keep crying when they brought over the issue of redoing the DNA test with people from both parties watching over the process!

Clearly, it was the most justified outcome for both parties! Then, why did his daughter so helpless when he suggested this!

The expression on Old Mr Wilson's face worsened when he realized his daughter had possibly committed an immoral act.

Old Mrs Wilson could no longer watch her daughter continue to sink down into an abyss due to her wrong actions.

She came forward and hugged Mrs Sandra, "Sandra, if you have done something wrong, it's better to plead for forgiveness while you still have a chance! Your father and I will also ask for forgiveness from Andrew!"

Reine had already been feeling extremely angry over facing this humiliation. Hearing her grandmother's words, she shrieked in anger, "Grandma, how can you doubt your own daughter! We did nothing wrong! You should help us to get even with this godforsaken family!"
