Chapter 42 - A Good Show to Watch!

If Aelia would have known Asher's thoughts about how teasing her had now become his favourite pastime, she would probably be angered to death.

As the three of them entered the drawing-room, they saw Reine sitting beside Mrs Wilson with dark expressions on both of their faces.

After Reine had returned to the mansion, she had immediately called and complained to her mother.

Mrs Wilson felt worried about the situation and quickly came to visit Reine. Being worried that this recent incident would further worsen her chances of marrying Mr Romanov, Mrs Sandra wanted to stop this matter from going into Mr Romanov's ears by any means possible.

However, Reine's humiliating incident had already been spread among the upper class of Phillon.

After all, the upper society worked by the rule of trampling over the weak and flattering the strong.

Thus, soon after the incident the young students present for the graduation had informed their family heads about the matter, who had in turn reported the incident to Mr Romanov.

Meanwhile, Mrs Wilson looked at Aelia and Azrael with eyes that were burning in hatred.

She feigned a sorrowful expression and said, "Aelia, I know that Reine turning out to be your half-sister came as sudden news to you guys. But, did you have to go so far and team up with your cousin to humiliate my daughter?"

Reine too followed her mother's actions and soon her eyes turned red, looking as if she had suffered some major grievances.

Her voice sounded a little choked ad she said, "Mom, don't blame Sister! After all, it was me who suddenly barged into their lives!"

Hearing how Reine still refused to admit her mistake and continued to put on a pitiful act, Azrael coldly snickered, "You fake pair of mother and daughter, for whom are you putting on an act now? My father is not even here yet!"

Hearing Azrael associating the word 'fake' with them, Mrs Wilson's heart trembled in fear.

However, she soon calmed herself down. She remembered how the person who helped her had assured her that no one would be able to trace the DNA report produced by Phillon National Laboratory was actually fake.

So, Mrs Wilson quickly reassured herself that Azrael had probably said those words out of spite.

She frowned with a displeased look on her face, "Asher, even if you are angry on behalf of your sister, Aelia, how can you say all these? Besides, Reine is your sister too! And whatever she did earlier was due to her misunderstanding the situation. She only wanted to help her sister and refrain her from going down the wrong path! So, can't you guys forgive her and make pe..."

Mrs Wilson was interrupted by Mr Romanov's thunderous voice, "Even after this happened, instead of reprimanding your daughter, you are still protecting her! No wonder, Reine turned out to be this way!"

Mrs Sandra was shocked by Mr Andrew's sudden entry. Her heart felt suffocated in fear as she looked at Mr Andrew's angry expression.

In fact, as soon as Mr Romanov had heard how Reine had schemed to humiliate his daughter, he felt infuriated and quickly returned home to reprimand Reine.

His anger escalated when he heard Mrs Wilson spouting those sanctimonious nonsense.

Mrs Sandra flushed in embarrassment at being rebuked by Mr Romanov in front of the children.

She opened her mouth to explain herself, but was stopped by Mr Romanov.

"I have already arranged for Reine to study abroad. Help her pack up her things, so that she can leave the country by this evening."

While Mrs Wilson's face paled on hearing Mr Romanov's swift decision, Azrael frowned in displeasure.

He quickly stopped his father.

"Dad, wait! I have a matter to inform you before you send that girl abroad!"

Mr Romanov looked in confusion at his son, who quickly went to his room to retrieved some documents.

Aelia and Asher sat on the couch and watched the show with cold looks on their faces.

Meanwhile, Aylin had heard the commotion downstairs and came down to see what the matter was.

While coming down, she met Azrael leaving his room with a stack of papers.

Seeing his sister, Azrael smiled and said, "Come down! There's a good show to watch."

Azrael came downstairs followed by Aylin who had a curious look on her face.

As Aylin took a seat on the couch beside her sister and brother-in-law, Azrael threw a cold glance at Mrs Wilson and Reine.

Seeing the stack of documents in Reine's hand, Mrs Wilson felt a bad premonition in her heart.

Azrael showed the documents to his father and while looking at Mrs Wilson with a meaningful expression on his face, he said, "Dad, don't you find these documents interesting? I had some doubts about Reine being our half-sister, so I had some investigations done about the matter.

Guess, what I found! Although the DNA report that Mrs Wilson had shown you earlier was prepared by Phillon National Laboratory, when I investigated the matter it turned out that though there is indeed a record of this report in their database, we could find no trace of the laboratory personnel who prepared the DNA report.

So, I had another DNA test secretly done! Dad, look! This result clearly shows that you and Reine have no biological connection."

Mrs Wilson's heart beat in trepidation as she watched Mr Romaniv's face turning red in anger after seeing the report.

She frantically snatched the document from Mr Romanov's hand. Her face paled after looking at the concluding statement of the report which clearly stated "The alleged father is excluded as the biological father of the tested child. This conclusion is based on the non-matching alleles observed at the STR loci listed above with a DI equal to 0. The probability of paternity is 0%."

Mr Romanov shook in anger and pointed a finger at Mrs Wilson, "You, you, how could you do this? Do you have no conscience at all left in you? Did you get the courage to produce these fake documents just based on your acting skills? Today, I must teach you what are the consequences of doing something wrong!"

Mrs Wilson tried to calm him down. With tears streaming down her face, she pitifully shook her head and said, "You have to believe me, Andrew! There must be some mistake! Otherwise, how did the earlier result turn out to be positive?"

Mr Andrew glared at Mrs Wilson and said, "Are you saying that my son is purposely trying to frame you? Do you still not want to admit your wrongdoings? Fine! I'll let your parents teach you what you should and should not ever do under any circumstances!"

Mrs Wilson could only watch with a horrified expression as Mr Andrew called the old Mr Wilson, the patriarch of the Wilson family.
