She tried to ease the ambiguous atmosphere surrounding them.
She quickly said, "Well, I've been wondering something for a while! Why do you always call me angel? At first, I thought you didn't know my name and called me angel just like others who call their loved ones 'darling' and so on! But, now I know you do know my name! So, why do you actually call me angel?"
Seeing the curious look on Aelia's face, Asher, who was leaning on the office desk smirked and suddenly stepped towards her.
Aelia was flustered by the sudden proximity and quickly stepped back. Asher took another step towards her and Aelia retreated again.
Soon, she was trapped between the wall and Asher.
Seeing Asher's intense gaze on her face from such close proximity, Aelia's already flushed face turned even redder and her heart started thumping loudly in her chest.
Asher put his right hand on the wall beside Aelia's head and leaned towards her.
Aelia felt extremely nervous and she licked her dry lips.
After gathering a little courage to meet his eyes, Aelia looked up to find Asher's darkened gaze on her lips.
Aelia gulped and asked nervously, "W-what are you doing?"
Asher's only wish then was to devour her lips and to completely possess his sweet angel.
However, he knew that it was not the right time yet, as Aelia's heart had still not been moved by him. He neither wanted their first kiss to be forced by him, nor did he want his angel to regard his feelings for her as mere lust. He wanted Aelia to see his genuine feelings for her, so that she could willingly give away her heart to him.
So, with enormous resolve, he restrained his blazing desire for his angel and instead picked up a twirling lock of her golden hair. He put his lips on the strand of her hair and kissed it reverently while gazing back at Aelia.
Aelia could see the smouldering passion in Asher's eyes and knew that though Asher had restrained himself, a small gesture from her could snap his restraint.
Seeing the flustered look like that of a trapped little rabbit on his angel's face, Asher felt that it was taking all his will power to stop himself from taking a bite out of those sweet, plump lips.
Asher sighed and finally let go of the lock of Aelia's hair. He really wanted to run his hands through those lush golden locks, that was as soft and smooth as silk.
He consoled himself by thinking that he would have lots of time to do that in the future. Instead, it was more necessary to calm down his little rabbit, who could scamper off at the slightest bit of provocation from him.
So, he took a step back and finally replied to her earlier question with a smirk, "Well, I'll tell you once I get something from you!"
Asher added with mischievous grin, "And it's something only you can give to me!"
Though Aelia was easily flustered earlier, she now felt indignant for even after all this, Asher still did not answer her question.
She petulantly bit out, "Well, you already have everything! You also can easily get whatever you're interested in! What else can I give you?"
Seeing the petulant expression on his angel's face, Asher sighed and thought that though his little angel had an extremely high IQ, she really did not know much about love and such. Otherwise, she would have understood that what he wanted from her was nothing but her heart.
Asher had mixed feelings about this. On one hand, he felt relieved to know that his angel had yet to experience love with anyone else; on the other hand, he felt that he had to work twice as hard to make Aelia fall in love with him.
He shook his head and thought, 'Never mind! This was better than his angel sharing such tender feelings with any other rogue! I'll just work harder and wait patiently for my little Angel to return my feelings!'
So, to ease his sulking angel, he rubbed her head and said with a teasing smile, "Well, I'll answer your question, when you realize what I want from you!"
Aelia frowned but was interrupted by Asher from telling anything else.
"Alright, it's already quite late! Now, you should go and take some rest! I too will go back!"
Hearing that he would return, Aelia did not know why she was feeling a little disappointed. In fact, Aelia also did not realize that she was showing much more emotions in front of Asher than she usually did in front of other strangers.
She could not restrain herself from asking, "Are you returning to Delphia?"
Hearing her question and seeing the hesitant look on her face, Asher felt extremely pleased. He knew that for now at least, he had created enough of an impression on his reserved angel, for her to ask this question.
He replied with a small smile, "We both will return to Delphia after a week! I heard from Azrael that you guys have some matter to solve with your family! We'll return after you solve this matter! Besides, the Palace will require at least a week to arrange for our wedding ceremony."
Aelia felt a little warm on realizing that despite the gravity of the situation in Delphia, Asher had still given her some time to sort out her family matters. What moved here was the fact that Asher could have simply let Azrael handle their family situation and immediately taken Aelia with him to Delphia.
She could not help but wonder, 'Did he know, that despite handing over all the matters to brother, I'd still worry about the situation here in Phillon if I left for Delphia without seeing these matters resolved?'
Aelia felt touched when she realized that Asher had thought all these things through.
Aelia thus nodded to Asher and walked him out of the office towards the door leading out of their house.
Asher turned and gave a warm smile at Aelia, before opening the door and walking out.
As Aelia watched Asher getting into a car and driving away, she thought, 'It'll be alright! Even though we don't know each other now, I'm sure if not anything else, we could at least be friends and get along well!'
Aelia soon walked up the stairs and returned to her bedroom. On the way, she met Raine, who was standing in the corridor. Aelia did not want to spoil her good mood, so she dismissed Reine with just a glance.
