Chapter 31 - He can help me.

After ordering Chief Kobayashi to send Hana to the field, Takao had spent his morning trying to find out a little more about the witness, but had not succeeded. 

At first, he tried to convince Serizawa to tell him who it was, and then, seeing that he would not get any information about the person in question, he at least asked to know what had been said. On this point, the employee of the Legal Service agreed to inform him. 

The witness confirmed that he had seen Ms. Shinohara hitting Mr. Kubo hard, but did not say anything more. However, they were waiting for his detailed written version to find out more. 

This could mean that this person had seen only a part of the events, and therefore did not know the real intentions of Kubo. But Takao couldn't rule out the least favorable scenario either: that the witness knew perfectly well what had happened, and had decided to side with Kubo anyway.
