The repeated ringing of the cell phone woke Takao, hammering a shrill sound into his skull with each repetition of the melody.
He had only had four hours of sleep after bringing home an overexcited and recalcitrant Shinohara Hana (or Nana?); hours cruelly interrupted by the call he was receiving. Even though he hadn't had anything to drink after the incident happened, he still had a huge headache similar to the ones he could get after drinking too much. For him, it was obvious that it was the attitude of the young woman which had tired him more than the side effects of alcohol.
Turning between his sheets to reach the night table where the noisy device continued to harass him, he squinted at the brightness of the screen disturbing the darkness he had established in his room.
One more ring, and he finally reached for the phone he was mentally chastising himself for not having put on silent right after he got home.
