Chapter 13 - Preparing to Leave

When he woke up the next day, Hades did not notice anything strange around him.

He slept very well yesterday. This was the night he could sleep after the apocalypse.

When he was in the dormitory, he was bullied by the members of the rugby team.

Those students who did not have any status were sent to guard the entrance and could not sleep peacefully.

The best and safest places were occupied by the physically strong upperclassmen.

They forbade the underclassmen to be on equal footing with them.

And they called this militarized management.

The underclassmen were soldiers, and the upperclassmen automatically became officers.

It was unfair and unequal.

But the upperclassmen had weapons and protective equipment, and ordinary students were no match for them and could only submit to their threats.

Food and sleep were not available to the underclassmen students.

Hades had a good sleep because he had the ability to protect himself and not be bullied by others.

Otherwise, there would be no difference between him and those who were eaten by zombies outside.

After getting up, Hades equipped himself with weapons, carried out a simple cleaning in the principal's bathroom, and took a shower.

After that, he left the principal's secret room, and Hayley was still sleeping on the sofa outside the office.

She wiped the blood on the floor hard last night, but she didn't dare to enter the secret room. Maybe it already belonged to Hades.

Hayley could only sleep on the sofa outside, but she didn't sleep well, even though Hayley didn't sleep much during this time.

However, Hayley still maintained a certain level of vigilance. Although Hades had saved her, she was not sure if Hades was sincere or if he had other intentions.

If Hades was still a bad person, then she would not be able to resist him.

Perhaps it was because of this fear, but Hayley did not fall asleep that night.

Therefore, when Hades came out, Hayley had already woken up. She was observing Hades'every move.

"I'm leaving." Hades carried his backpack.

However, he didn't intend to abandon Hayley completely. Hades took out some food from his backpack and gave it to Hades together with the materials he found in the classroom and office building.

"With these food and that secret cabin, as long as you stay here, you should be fine for at least half a month."

Seeing the food, Hailey was very happy, but she soon calmed down. She shook her head and said, "No, if I leave you, I'll die! You can't just leave like that... maybe those people will come back. If they come back, I'll be dead."

"The principal? They won't come back. They took my car yesterday, but they didn't know that the sound of driving would attract more zombies, and the zombies at night would be more powerful. I don't think they can drive away last night."

"Are they dead?"

"It's possible,"Hades said. "Just stay here and wait for help."

"Where are you going?" Asked Hayley.

"I'm going to the cafeteria. There should be someone there. I have to go and see... A girl I care about."

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"No... not really."

"Can I go with you?" Hailey said, "I don't dare to stay here alone. I'm a little scared."

"No, you're too weak. It's best if you stay here."

"But if zombies come, I'm afraid I can't stop them."

"I've killed all the zombies nearby. No more zombies will come."

"The school is so big. There will always be new zombies. You can't abandon me."

At this point, Hayley started to cry.

It was like an outlet for her emotions. She cried out all of her feelings, because she felt wronged. These days, she had to be on guard against those men.

There were countless scary zombies outside. Last night, she saw the zombie being torn into pieces.

Countless horrifying scenes and thoughts appeared in her mind, and she couldn't bear it anymore.

Why did the world become like this.

She didn't understand whose fault it was.

What did she do wrong.

Hailey believed in God, and she prayed for God countless times to save her.

And at her most dangerous moment, it was Hades who appeared.

When she heard the news that Hades was leaving, she panicked.

Hades was her savior!

She thought in her heart, only Hades can save her, she could not leave Hades.

So, she cried.

She cried with 80% sincerity, 20% acting.

Because she hoped that Hades can sympathize with her, not abandon her, or she thought that she will die in this kind of doomsday.

Hayley did not want to die.

Her performance was effective, and when Hades saw the usually strong female teacher crying, he had to be moved.

Indeed, if Hades left like this, he might never come back.

After this, Hayley's life and death had nothing to do with him, and he would not care, nor would he remember.

However, she couldn't survive in this post-apocalyptic world by herself.

Saving a person and leaving them on their own. It was no different from killing them.

It was a kind of moral kidnapping, but it was very effective.

Hades hesitated. There were still countless zombies outside. He couldn't keep bringing his teacher along. She couldn't help him much.

"I can't help you too much. You have to rely on yourself in the apocalypse," Hades said.

Hayley looked desperate. She didn't know what to do.

"But, you can stay here. I won't leave the campus for the time being. I need to find more people to save. If I can come back, I will. When I want to leave, I promise you that I will take you with me."

"Really?" Hayley had hopes again.

"I don't have to lie to you," Hades said. "Now I'm hungry. Can you make me some food?"

"Okay, okay." Hayley was happy, as if she had found her role. She looked for a toaster and microwave in the office, prepared some food, and brought it to Hades.
