This elf is really stubborn, it's been a little over an hour since I've interrogated him but basically, I couldn't get anything very useful out of him, the most useful information I got was that the dwarves aren't working with the elves, actually the dwarves that these elves encountered were fighting with a team led by an elf named Caliban, who appears to be the person who was tasked with screwing me during this test.
It seems like the dwarves are on my side and this is good news, but very surprising, I don't even know one of these dwarves. I managed to think of two hypotheses as to why they seem to be willing to help me, the pear tree and that they want to screw the elves, the second is that Durin is helping me, I don't think there's a reason for him to do that.
We even got along well when we had fun at Lofar's expense, but his asking other dwarfs to help me is a little weird. I believe that the first option is much more likely to be correct, a group of dwarves who want to mess up the elves because they don't like them, and how dwarves can claim the side with the highest morale in this conflict and thus throw even more dirt on them. elves, it is too great an opportunity to pass up.
I dropped the beaten elf on the ground and gathered around the items we took from the three elves, including two short swords, a regular sword, five throwing knives and three small backpacks with some features and unimportant items like rope and some medicine, nothing we don't have. I finally got some decent gear, I'm wearing the light leather armor of one of the elves who was the closest in physique to mine, the armor is a little tight but I can wear it without a lot of difficulty.
It's a shame that neither one of these swords is an elemental weapon, all three are good quality level two swords, they should be able to last for a long time since I don't even encounter an enemy with a very strong or complicated defense. What I get upset about is that among the three elves not one of them uses a fucking bow, as far as I know one of the stereotypes the elves have is that they're good archers, but where's the bow of these three?
"Well, ready to move on? I believe we still have a spot on our team, I hope to be able to recruit one more person with gray core and preference, maybe we'll get lucky and get another wizard."
Hilda wasn't too happy about the fact that we lost three spots on the team.
"Are you sure these idiots killed three waves? You didn't exactly miss the chance to recruit them, as you never got the chance to do that because their families sent them to attack you during the test."
"I don't think the examiners will accept that argument, Hilda. They're not happy with me and even if the principal got in my way of the situation, she would probably say that this is part of the test, and that we should overcome and solve the problems we faced on the test by ourselves, cry to the examiners so that they change the rules of the test is not a very promising scenario."
"The examiners are going to get in trouble because you beat this elf rather aggressively, Ulric?"
"I don't think so, Amael. They will probably punish me if I do this to another student, but as the elves are already targeting me to begin with, I think it's normal that I can retaliate against them, what I can't do is hurt them just the way I threatened it would."
"But if I'm wrong the examiners probably texted me while I spanked the idiot elf, but I hope neither of you suffer from my blows during this test. I don't intend to let the elves fuck with me without if I screw them back, it's just a bunch of gray-core elves they might even come out victorious in the end, but I'll make sure they pay dearly for this victory.
"But I also have to say that I'm sorry to drag all of you into this conflict, I hope there's no problem for you after the test."
Amael was the first to speak out.
"I don't care what the elves are doing or why they're tying you up, but I'm part of your team and my test depends on our success. So, anyone who gets in my way is my enemy."
Simple and straightforward.
"I would rather be in another group, but since I'm here I won't hesitate to fight the elves, but I would prefer that you not lead us on a suicide mission just to harm the elves."
"I agree with Mauro, but if the elves prevent our team from passing the test, I'm more than willing to make them suffer regardless of the consequences of the conflict."
Mauro and Nathan are with me too, but on different levels. But I must admit that I liked Nathan's position more than Mauro's, he won't let the elves sabotage our test and pass his, I have to admit that I respect one more person who is willing to opt for mutual destruction in a test like this.
"I don't give a damn about the elves, they can't piss me off as I was forced to join your team, Ulric. But just to be clear I'm not a person who gets trampled on by others, so it's very important that you come up with a good plan to destroy the elves and don't let them hurt my test score or I'll blame you for the team's failure. "
Vanessa has an attitude that I expected, not a surprise there.
"Then let's get going, Ulric. We don't have much time before nightfall and I think we'd better stay away from this rune matrix, in case other groups or teams find these elves beaten and naked."
I noticed something wrong with Hilda's sentence, so I looked at the defeated elves only to find the three naked and tied to the ground.
"Hilda is right, we had better leave, but who was it that left the elves naked? I just took off their armor, I didn't touch their underwear."
I look at my teammates only to see Mauro, Nathan and Amael taking a step back and making signs of denial, so I look at the only person left who would be able to do that to the poor elves. Vanessa had a cruel smile on her face as she pretended not to hear my question.
"Did you really steal their underwear?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, Ulric, but if I had to comment on the elves, I would say they should be more careful who they involve in their silly disputes. Karma can be instantaneous sometimes."
This is a very cruel thing to do, leaving the three elves without even a weapon, armor and backpack is one thing, but leaving them completely naked is another. It's a very cruel thing to leave the three naked in my test, depending on who finds them in the matrix the elves can have very bad experiences.
I must remember not to piss off Vanessa too much, and it's always better not to get into conflict with people who are capable of such cruelties. This type of person is very vindictive, but the biggest problem is that they would not give up on revenge even if I had to wait decades to complete the revenge, be the target of this type of person and have a blade ready to stab you in the back in most vulnerable moment in your life.
"Well, we'd better go ahead, we have to find a good place to camp, but since we have a wizard who has the earth element and a warrior with the water element, then it won't be difficult to create a comfortable place to spend the night, we just have to choose a rune matrix without even a beast or magical animal."
When we went on our way and left the naked elves behind, we had to face some challenges, but not even one of them was too difficult. Even the pack of tier 2 magic beasts wasn't very hard to kill, they didn't have a very resistant body, their strongest feature was their ability to breathe fire, but against our team it was the red lizards that got burned.
With Hilda's ice element cover it was easy to kill this bunch of magical beasts, but the problem that came up for us is something we didn't expect. As we passed through the matrixes, the light disappeared and it became night, and so we looked for a place to camp.
But when we passed through the portal after leaving a matrix that was full of annoying birds, we were bombarded with light. I even thought we had to face a magical beast with the light element, but light was simply the clarity that came from the blue sky.
In this rune matrix it is still day. Where did the night go?
"Does anyone have any idea what's going on right now?"
