I ran towards the gate that the earth element mage protected with the help of the black core warriors, I thought they would be the side that would ask for help because that side was the second with the highest number of enemies and they were using a different strategy which was to create the tunnels to be able to invade the fort or they want to try to bring down the fortress wall by collapsing the ground under it, which I think is a great strategy.
The wall of a fort can be hard and tough, but in a small, hastily set up fort like this, I doubt if there is fortification under the wall, it should at most sink half a meter into the ground. A real fort is necessary to have about two meters buried and depending on the type of enemy that will attack the fort, it may even be necessary to have an even more robust and reinforced foundation.
There is nothing more humiliating for an engineer than the wall he planned to fall back while still in perfect condition, a wall without a foundation will easily be knocked down by a herd of more magical lovers or magical beasts and will only break when it falls. It must be an incredible sight that I hope I never see inside a fort.
As I approached the earth element mage who was casting his magic to attack the horde of magical animals, which was led by another unique figure, but this time it wasn't a humanoid-looking golem, they were a magical beast in the form of a bear. covered in fire. Very intimidating, if it wasn't trapped in a hole that was quicksand, I believe the magician set a trap to trap the magical beast which is a sign of great ability and intelligence on his part, but what I'm not sure is that if he had anticipated that the bear's flames would solidify the mud, trapping him far more effectively than a simple earth-element trap.
I wonder why I was called here; the black core warriors are killing the magical animals in an orderly manner and at a good pace, they shouldn't have difficulty killing these magical animals. From what I could analyze the magical animals that are coming out of the ground to fight the black core warriors are not animals with a high combat power, their main function was to dig, but unfortunately their tunnels were blocked by the hardened stone barrier that the mage recorded on the ground, forcing them to climb to fight at a disadvantage.
The bear should be the moles' reinforcement or the distraction for them to break down the wall. I approached the mage.
"Why did you call me here? Looks like everything is in order around here."
"I can't kill the bear; I'm using all my focus and soon I'll have wasted half my mana keeping the bear pinned to the ground. His skin is very hard and his fire element is protecting him, I can't kill him alone!"
I think this was a mistake on my part, this guy is a magician focused on defense and control, he shouldn't even have a spell in his repertoire to kill the fire bear, but he's to be congratulated for holding a magical beast of level two. He is really a competent wizard, I would prefer to have him on my team in a more permanent way, but unfortunately that won't happen.
"Keep the bear tethered so I can kill him quickly."
I jumped off the wall and made my way through the golems that were being killed by the black core warriors, I made my way to the bear's blind spot, as he's stuck to the ground nothing prevents me from taking advantage of the situation. I drew my sword, and concentrated my wind element on it along with my aura to create a blade with high piercing power.
Intending to kill the magical beast in a single blow, I moved smoothly and noiselessly down the bear's back, in one clean move my blade pierced the bear's neck and it burst into flames. Thankfully I had set up an aura and fire shield in front of me before piercing the bear's head, magic beasts with the fire element tend to always burst into flames when wounded, and a very useful tactic for hurting your enemy.
The bear's death was calm when comparing the Amazon orc that Isabela soloed, the earth element wizard who by the way was panting a little, did a great job in defending that side. As I climb over the wall using my wind element to propel myself, I take one last check of this side of the forest, but as far as my vision can go, I don't see anything that stands out.
"Keep defending this side, I'll check on the others, I doubt it's only complicated enemies from both sides of the fort."
Leaving the earth element mage behind, I head towards the south gate where the black core fire mage is defending, when i get there i can see that only a few golems in the form of magical animals attack the black core warriors while were bombarded by fireballs.
As far as I can see everything is fine here, not an enemy with a lot of mana or elemental energy on this side. They shouldn't even have a problem taking care of these golems. Then I go to the last gate, where Vali must be defending.
I arrived at the gate and saw Vali killing a magical beast of the wind element, it was a very large harpy that was split in half by Vali's wind sickle, while she was tied by green chains. I don't think my presence here is necessary, Vali seems skilled enough to keep this side safe now that the magical beast on this side has been killed.
But when I backed up to the north I stopped halfway, I just noticed something, Amazon orc, a flaming bear and a green harpy avia a champion on each side, where is the champion of the south?
I run south at the maximum of my speed, only to find I was too late. When I was a few meters from the tower that the fire mage was sheltering, I could see his head spinning in the air leaving a trail of blood in the air.
A small deformed black shadow was over the edge of the watchtower, I have no idea what it was, but I can tell it looks much more like a monster than a magical beast, its body seems covered by a black carapace and two blades big where your hands should be, an insect's thin wings are on its back.
The black carapace monster and insect characteristics has a lot of the shadow element in its body, this is a killer golem and I just lost a mage. I fired my arrows at the assassin golem, but it leapt from the tower, scattering into several different shadows, and some of them came towards me.
I simply advanced towards them shooting arrows at one of the fleeing shadows, to deflect my arrows the insectoid had to retreat back. My arrows closed off his escape route. This game lasted a long time, I was only interrupted when the insectoid golem gave it up and attacked me with its blade arms.
It's a shame for him that his strength and a level two monster, maybe with the sum of the shadow element he would be categorized as elite, but unfortunately, he's trying to use his shadow element to confuse me with shadows. If it were a real dungeon monster, he would have used a different trick, but lucky for me he insisted on the same trick which is useless against me.
I can easily see the difference between he is one of his shadows, I easily tricked him into pretending to go against one of his shadows just to catch him off guard when he tried to attack me from the side. My sword cut in a single movement an arm and one of the insectoid's wings, the poor man went to the ground.
Without one of the wings, the insectoid became easy prey when attacking him again he couldn't even get up, it seems his body took more damage than I thought. It looks like your body is much more fragile. The wind and aura element of my sword alone was strong enough to break much of its inner skeleton.
If it weren't for his ability to hide and create shadow clones, I believe that even the fire element mage would be able to explode this insectoid golem. I took up position in the tower and covered the black core warriors who were being pressured by the wolves and boars, without the fire mage's cover they would end up being killed by the animal golems.
I thought the test would be over by now, but unfortunately, I was wrong, when most of the animals in the south part were already dead, a roar filled the entire fort, it came from the north gate.
It looks like this test has one more last champion who seems to be very interested in challenging us all.
